In the Valley you can catch the Valley Mover bus at the Bus Barn Park and Ride at Mile 50, Parks Highway in Meadow Lakes, at the Wasilla Fred Meyer by Pet Zoo, or the Trunk Road Park and Ride. Valley Mover stops in Anchorage at the Downtown Transit Center on 6th Avenue & H Street and in front of the Museum at 6th Avenue & C Street. All Valley Mover buses are equipped with bike racks. Fare is $7 one way, $10 for a day pass, or $120 for an unlimited monthly pass. The cost depends on the zone. (Wasilla to Wasilla) one way, is $3 per person, if further transportation is needed outside of a zone it is an additional $3. Punch cards for 10-rides cost $30. Donations are accepted for all rides. There is a charge for Anchorage trips (round-trip $80, except with Medicaid voucher) Suggested donations: Palmer (round-trip) $5.50; Wasilla (one-way) $5.50. Please call as soon as possible to schedule transportation to a medical appointment in Palmer, Wasilla or Anchorage. Transportation for shopping at Carrs or Fred Meyer in Palmer, is provided on Wednesday afternoons. Rides to Walmart are provided on Fridays, when volunteers are available. Please call in advance to schedule appointments. To qualify for transportation services, individuals must be either 60 years or be 16 years (or older) with a disability, and receive Medicaid waiver voucher services, or people any age who receive regular Medicaid. Non-Emergency Medical Transportation People who have Medicaid can access local non-emergency ground transportation to get to medical appointments when the member has exhausted all other means of travel, including public transportation. To request transportation assistance through Medicaid, ask your doctor to request prior authorization for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) when you make your next appointment. Physicians and Care Coordinators may request prior authorization for travel a Medicaid members to get to medical appointments by contacting Conduit. Talkeetna line operates M-F; Trapper Creek & Willow lines on Tuesdays; Willow call service on Wednesdays. Medicaid transportation is available. Ride arrangements can be made in advance. Tickets are available at Talkeetna Roadhouse, Talkeetna Library, Flying Squirrel, Cubby's and the Clinic. Senior ride passes are also available at the Clinic for clinic patients that are 65 years and older at a reduced rate. Fares: Single ride one-way: $3 ($6 total for RT); Resident multi ride tickets: $15 (11 rides); Non-resident multi ride tickets: $20 (11 rides). Call the Mobility Manager to request specific service. For immediate assistance call the driver at 354-3885. Hours: M-S 9 am-5 pm. Closed on major holidays. Passenger calls 745-CATs to request a ride. Dispatcher checks schedules for the best date, location and time requested. Dispatcher and Passenger work together to find the best option for the requested travel. Passenger is to ready at least 15 minutes before a scheduled pickup time on the day of travel. Passenger boards the bus with exact change or a Bus Pass unless other payment arrangements have been made prior to traveling on CATs. Fares: Each Trip: $2 each time you step onto the transit bus; Monthly pass: $64; Punch card: $20. Discounted rates available to seniors & students. Alaska Cab Valley, LLC (907) 357-2727 For each drop off it’s $1.55, $2.85 per mile. The flat rate for Palmer-Wasilla is $27. Wasilla to Anchorage is $80. They also provide lock out service in each city for $25 and jump start services for $20 within city limits. These two extra services they provide would have additional costs outside of city limits. Redi Rides of Alaska (907) 357-7500 Door to door, handicap accessible transportation. Takes Medicaid Waiver only. Redi Rides must have a copy of the consumer's Plan of Care in their office. For anything that's not a Medical appointment, consumers can call 357-7500. For medical appointments, consumers can call Lori Luke (out of Anchorage) at 907-754-3500. If Medicaid only, not Medicaid waiver, Redi Rides coordinates with the Medicaid contractor.
