Moving forward!

One of my favourite quotes is by Albert Einstein, " The only source of knowledge is experience."

I find this quote very useful today as we are all learning the lessons of adaptability as we move forward into this new year.

As we are following Covid-19 safety guidelines and wearing our masks when we are in public places and even when visiting with family and friends, it seems so surreal and unnatural. But yet its simply the reality of this moment which we need to embrace.

But like with every new experience, after a while it becomes more familiar to us, and then evolves into an adapted way of doing things.

While I look forward to the day of not having to wear a mask and the pandemic is gone, we continue to move forward because that is the only direction we can go.

Is it strange to see Limone so quiet during winter when usually it is filled with families and visitors enjoying the ski resort and village? Of course!

But somehow during these quiet days, we have witnessed some of the most outstanding panoramas and beauty. Sometimes we take this beauty for granted as we are distracted by our busy lives.

So instead, I am taking this opportunity to appreciate our beautiful community, its majestic mountains, and the people that makes Limone so special.

One of the most popular activities to come out this season has been the rediscovery of snowshoeing.

Certainly not as popular as skiing or snowboarding, however snowshoeing is one of those recreational activities that allows us to connect to nature and reap the benefits of a good cardiovascular workout.

The Limone Piemonte tourist office suggests the wonderful path Agrifoglio where you can appreciate the epic scenery of the mountains, a quiet individual journey on foot.

For those who are seeking a harder challenge is snow running, an adaptation to snowshoeing which uses a trail running snow shoe which is narrower and lighter.

Detailed path guides are available at the tobacco shop and newsstands in Limone (Tabaccheria Edicola Martino).

You can also download the Limone Piemonte smart app which has updated information on trails, as well as news and activities in Limone.

The interactive map from the Limone Piemonte Tourist Information center is also a very useful map for planning out your journey of rediscovery on snow shoes!

The shops are open, the restaurants are open for delivery, and although due to the pandemic this is a quiet season for a village that is normally very busy during the ski season, it is allowing us to appreciate Limone is a more simple and quiet way.

TENDE TUNNEL: A COMPLEX PROJECT, A NEW COMMISSIONER

A positive step forward towards the progress of the reconstruction of the Tende tunnel project that connects the Piemonte region to the Liguria and France, arrived as the Italian parliament Dcpm appointed Nicola Prisco as the new commissioner responsible for the project.

The appointment is the last phase of nomination which gives the appointed commissioners the power to proceed with the planning and the works for the project to move ahead.

As reported by LaStampa.it on January 21, 2021, Prisco, who is the head of the Anas Lombardy territorial structure will undertake this highly complex 60 billion euro project, a decision that finally arrived after weeks of
