Lunchtime Soccer

Very enthusiastic sign up to ‘Soccer at Lunchtime” saw top talent among our third year boys. Not for the glory of a trophy was this held; but for a blast of energy, strategy and tactics, putting the new sports hall as well as the outdoor courts to full use. Total commitment, impressive skills with competitive teamwork have all been on display every week since it started. Dedication to the beautiful game by the players meant not even one red card was shown, what was shown instead has been that each of the players are a credit to their respective clubs and communities. We think these are ‘ones to watch” as potential players for Ireland in the future!. (All talent scouts to apply through the school office please). An added bonus to these sessions has been the school supporters of all ages who arrivedtocheerontheirfavourites.‘Honthelads!’

Lunchtime Club- Creative Crafts/ Sewing

IN THIS ISSUE:

This relaxing lunchtime activity was initially planned as a creative crafts club using sustainable materials to recycle/ reuse/ repurpose in creative and artistic ways. Yet the interests of the students has been mainly in developing their sewing skills, begun in home economics class, and in finding their creativity through embroidery. Once these skills are learned and practiced there are endless possibilities for repurposing materials. There is lots of potential in the dedicated group who arrive every Thursday lunchtime and we always found that the time flew!. The students are ”sew” good!
