Hot topics for the summer months
by T HOMAS WILLIAMS
As temperatures soar, so does the activity in the housing market. From essential tips for homebuyers looking to make their dream home a reality to successful strategies for sellers aiming to capitalize on the summer selling season; whether you’re a firsttime homebuyer eager to embark on your journey to homeownership or a seasoned seller seeking to maximize your property’s appeal, you’ll find valuable insights and advice to guide you every step of the way.
HOMEBUYERS
Navigating the Homebuying Journey with Confidence
To set yourself up for success when buying a new home, start by defining your needs, preferences and budget clearly. Research neighborhoods, schools, amenities and property values to narrow down your options effectively. Get pre-approved for a mortgage to strengthen your offer and streamline the buying process. Partner with a knowledgeable and reputable real estate agent who understands your goals and advocates for your best interests. Attend open houses and schedule private viewings to assess properties thoroughly. Conduct thorough inspections and consider potential resale value. Stay organized, patient and flexible throughout the process, understanding that finding the perfect home may take time. Lastly, trust your instincts and don’t settle for a property that doesn’t meet your criteria. With careful planning, diligence and guidance from professionals, you can navigate the homebuying journey confidently and achieve your homeownership goals.
Why Seeing a Home in Person Matters
In today’s digital age, virtual tours and online listings offer convenience, but nothing beats experiencing a home in person before making an offer. Visiting a property allows you to assess its true condition, ambiance and neighborhood vibe firsthand. You can gauge factors like natural light, room sizes and overall layout that might not translate accurately in photos or videos. Additionally, being physically present enables you to ask questions, address concerns and envision yourself living in the space. By taking the time to tour a home in person, you can make a more informed decision, ensuring that it meets your needs and preferences before committing to a purchase. It’s a vital step in the home-buying process that can ultimately save you time, money and disappointment down the road.
Prime Time for Homebuyers
Buying a house presents numerous advantages for prospective homeowners.
In the summer of 2024, buying a house presents numerous advantages for prospective homeowners. Firstly, the warmer months often coincide with increased inventory and market activity, providing buyers with a wider selection of properties to choose from. Additionally, favorable weather conditions make it easier to conduct home inspections and assess outdoor features such as landscaping and curb appeal. Moreover, historically low mortgage rates continue to offer favorable financing options for buyers, maximizing affordability. With longer daylight hours and a sense of optimism in the air, now is an opportune time for buyers to make their move into homeownership, capitalizing on favorable market conditions and ample choices.
Updated Windows Bring Value Beyond Aesthetics
When hunting for a new home, don’t overlook the significance of updated windows. While they contribute to the home’s visual appeal, their benefits extend far beyond mere aesthetics. Modern windows offer superior insulation, sealing out drafts and maintaining a comfortable interior climate year-round. This not only enhances your living experience but also leads to noticeable savings on heating and cooling bills. Additionally, energy-efficient windows often come with features like UV protection and sound insulation, adding further value to your investment. When evaluating potential properties, prioritize those with updated windows to ensure long-term comfort, energy efficiency and cost savings. Remember, the benefits of updated windows extend well beyond initial impressions; they are a crucial component of a home’s functionality and financial value.
Hot Home Features That Make a Cool Impression!
When selling your home during the warmer months, accentuate special touches like outdoor fans, air conditioning, sprinkler systems, ceiling fans and strategic window shades. These features enhance comfort, showcasing your property as a sanctuary from the heat. Outdoor fans on covered decks create inviting spaces for relaxation and entertainment, while interior ceiling fans maintain airflow. Highlighting air conditioning and efficient windows communicates temperature control and energy savings. A sprinkler system signals low-maintenance landscaping, while window shades balance natural light and heat. By emphasizing these details, you not only elevate your home’s appeal but also demonstrate thoughtful design, enhancing its desirability during the summer market.
Essential Summer Tips: Highlight Your Home’s Outdoor Amenities highlight amenities.outdoor
Highlighting a home’s outdoor amenities, such as patios and decks, pools and garden areas, as well as scenic views, is pivotal in portraying its potential for enjoyable summer living to prospective buyers. These features extend living space, providing areas for relaxation, entertainment and recreation during warm months. Patios and pools offer venues for outdoor gatherings and leisure activities, while well-maintained garden areas enhance aesthetics and tranquility. Scenic views contribute to ambiance and serenity, enriching the overall living experience. By showcasing these outdoor amenities, sellers effectively communicate the lifestyle opportunities the property affords, appealing to buyers seeking a harmonious blend of indoor comfort and outdoor enjoyment during the summer season.
Assessing your financial situation and future plans can help you determine the optimal timing for your home purchase.
Timing is Everything
While buying a home is an exciting milestone, there are instances when it might not be the best time for you to take the plunge. Financial instability, such as a low credit score or high debt-toincome ratio, can hinder your ability to secure a favorable mortgage rate or afford monthly payments. Additionally, if you anticipate a major life change, such as a career move or starting a family, it may be wise to wait until your circumstances stabilize. Market conditions, such as inflated housing prices or limited inventory, can also make it challenging to find a suitable property within your budget. Taking the time to assess your financial situation and future plans can help you determine the optimal timing for your home purchase.
HOME SELLERS
Summer Selling:
Making
Moves in the Sun
Selling your house during the summer months brings a host of benefits in today’s dynamic real estate market. With longer days and sunny skies, your property shines, attracting more eager buyers. Summer’s bustling activity and heightened demand often lead to faster sales and competitive offers, helping you secure a favorable deal. Families, in particular, are keen to settle before the new school year, expanding your potential buyer pool. Furthermore, persistently low housing inventory levels drive up prices, offering sellers the chance to maximize their returns. Don’t miss out on this prime selling season — leverage these summer months to showcase your home and achieve a successful sale.
1. Declutter and depersonalize to help buyers envision their future in the space.
2. Make necessary repairs to present a well-maintained property that instills confidence in potential buyers.
3. Enhance curb appeal with landscaping and a fresh coat of paint (if needed) to create a lasting first impression.
4. Stage rooms strategically to highlight the home’s best features and maximize space and functionality.
5. Clean thoroughly to ensure a sparkling appearance throughout, leaving a lasting impression of care and attention to detail.
Successful Strategies for Selling Your Home
To set yourself up for success when selling your home, start by preparing your property to make a lasting impression. Declutter, depersonalize and stage your home to showcase its full potential and appeal to potential buyers. Work with a reputable real estate agent who understands the local market and can develop a tailored marketing strategy to attract qualified buyers. Price your home competitively based on comparable sales and current market conditions to generate interest and offers. Maximize curb appeal to create a positive first impression and consider making minor repairs or updates to enhance the overall appeal. Be flexible and responsive to buyer feedback and offers, and maintain open communication with your agent throughout the selling process. By taking these proactive steps and leveraging the expertise of professionals, you can increase your chances of selling your home quickly and for the best possible price.

Puget Sound Revels
TALENTED NEW STAGE DIRECTOR LEADS THE SHOW by RACHEL
Puget Sound Revels celebrates the act of community through their programming, reveling through production art all year long!
Puget Sound Revels honors every person’s presence and gifts, celebrates past and present communities, and dances in unity with joy through song. This year the Revels have a full year of activities and productions, both on the stage and in Tacoma, that are sure to enthrall audiences young and old. The new Revels stage director, Michelle Matlock, will be heading up the vision of this year’s productions, celebrations and opportunities for education to facilitate “coming together with joy.”
This year the Puget Sound Revels is hosting their annual production of the Midwinter Revels, a show meant to intentionally blend amateurs and professionals, children and adults, players and audience in an overall experience of singing, dancing and story. The production is held at Tacoma’s Rialto Theater and draws audiences from all over the Pacific Northwest. Each year the production tells a story from a different time and place. The production often includes several Revels Rituals regardless of the setting (more info on the rituals at Revels.org). Michelle is excited for this year’s production centering on “the African American experience through this unique story and history. Puget Sounds Revels is the perfect

platform for this celebration and coming together of our community. I’m very excited for all of it!” she says. Auditions for chorus will be held on August 18, and June 1st for the principal roles.
However, the Midwinter Revels production isn’t the only “revel” brewing this year! If you like singing, dancing and sunshine (who doesn’t?), then this summer there is sure to be something for you. May 1 the Revels welcomed Lovely May with a free May Day celebration in Wright Park. The community was invited to traditional activities such as dancing around the maypole, flower crowns and singing.
June 2, the Revels have a benefit concert at Titlow Lodge with lively tunes played by Podorythmie & the Legers. “The rustic lodge, with its beautiful park and water views, will be bursting with music and joy — Revels invite all to attend, enjoy the music and support their mission!” says Michelle. On June 21, the Revels will host another free community event at Wapato Park, marking the longest day with song and story.
Later this summer, July 29 to August 3, Revels will host an exclusive and exciting workshop series called Mummers & Musicians, culminating in a spectacular performance. This is a great opportunity for people who love theater, music and tomfoolery! Workshops are open to the public, and information for registration can be found on their website.

New Park Inspired by History and Heritage New Park Inspired by History and Heritage
Smiles and laughter fill the new Melanie’s Park on the Thea Foss Waterway
by JILLIAN CHANDLER
In April 2024, just in time for the spring and summer months, a new park opened up in Tacoma, and it’s a site to be seen and experienced.
“The design of Melanie’s Park is inspired by its history, both as the traditional homeland of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians and as a heating plant during a century of industrial use,” explains Kristi Evans, Capital Program ManagerCommunity & Neighborhood Parks for Metro Parks Tacoma.
The play area, inspired by Northwest themes and history, features a winding metal slide descending from a climbing tower that evokes a 200-foot smokestack once located on the site in the early 1900s. Additionally, a log jam play area pays homage to the past. To honor the tribal heritage, interpretive signs provide information about the Tribe’s historical and ongoing presence on the waterfront, including Lushootseed words with their pronunciations and the importance of the local Fishing Wars in upholding treaty rights. The park’s concrete walkways are adorned with Coast Salish basket weaving designs by the mother-daughter duo Denise Reed and Sharron Nelson. These designs — passed down through generations—symbolize their tribal history and cherished elements such as mountains, ocean, canoes, animals, family, and gathering plants.
CLEAN CALM CONSTANT
“The most unique feature of this park is the 36-foot climbing tower and 23-foot slide,” notes Kristi. “Kids — and adults — are clamoring to try it out and can’t get enough! It’s also the only park with play structures close to downtown Tacoma and on the Thea Foss Waterway.”
According to Kristi, the three-quarter-acre park is named after Melanie LaPlant Dressel, a community and banking leader who helped found Columbia Bank and held the top job there until her death in 2017. She earned a reputation as a savvy businesswoman, held positions on multiple community boards, and was known for her kind heart and fondness for children.
Though there is no designated parking for Melanie’s Park, it is situated within walking distance of many public parking lots. In addition, there is an ADA-accessible street parking space in front of the park. The park was built to ADA accessibility standards, which includes pathways around the park, the pedestrian bridge and viewing areas. There are several trees on-site, picnicking and viewing areas, restrooms, and a pavilion that can be rented for small parties and events.
When asked what she hopes visitors to the park will take away from their experience, Kristi shares, “We always hope our visitors have fun and build memories — which is easy to do with a 50-foot pedestrian bridge and viewing platform with expansive views of downtown, Mount Rainier and a marina. It’s the perfect place to sit on a boardwalk, relax among native plants and listen to children laugh. We also hope they [walk away with] a better understanding of the site’s history and the remarkable cleanup that was completed in 2006 after the Environmental Protection Agency declared it a Superfund site.”
In 1983, after a century of industrial use, the Environmental Protection Agency declared a 12-acre stretch of Commencement Bay a Superfund site and ordered a cleanup. The City of Tacoma teamed up with those responsible for dumping waste into the waterway and embarked on the massive cleanup. Officials then envisioned a vibrant walkway that could help redevelop the area, bringing parks, businesses, restaurants and apartment buildings to the waterfront.
Foss Waterway Development Authority started the fundraising for Melanie’s Park — which includes $1.2 million in private donations, $750,000 from the City of Tacoma, $490,000 from Washington state and $50,000 from Pierce County. Metro Parks contributed $2.2 million in voter-approved bonds.
Melanie’s Park can be found at 1147 Dock Street along Thea Foss Waterway.

As the temperature rises and the sun shines brighter, it’s time to revamp your wardrobe and embrace the season’s hottest trends. From breezy fabrics to vibrant colors, summer style offers endless opportunities to express yourself with flair and confidence. Here are your top five style tips to help you navigate the summer months in fashion-forward elegance, ensuring you stay cool, comfortable and effortlessly chic no matter the occasion.
Light and Breathable Fabrics: Opt for clothing made from lightweight, breathable fabrics like cotton, linen or chambray to stay cool and comfortable in the summer heat. These materials allow air to circulate, preventing overheating and ensuring you feel fresh all day long.
Embrace Bright Colors and Patterns: Add a pop of color to your summer wardrobe with vibrant hues and playful patterns. Experiment with bold prints, tropical motifs or cheerful florals to capture the essence of the season and express your personal style with confidence.
Invest in Versatile Summer Essentials: Build a versatile summer wardrobe by investing in key pieces that can easily mix and match for various occasions. Consider staple items like a breezy sundress, comfortable shorts, stylish sandals and a lightweight denim jacket for effortless style transitions from day to night.
Accessorize Wisely: Elevate your summer outfits with the right accessories to add flair and personality to your look. Choose accessories like statement sunglasses, woven straw hats, colorful scarves or lightweight scarves to complement your ensemble and protect yourself from the sun’s rays in style.
Stay Cool with Breathable Footwear: Keep your feet happy and comfortable during the summer months by opting for breathable footwear options. Choose sandals, espadrilles, or canvas sneakers with open designs and cushioned soles to provide ample support while allowing your feet to breathe in hot weather conditions.

DISCOVER THE POWER OF NATURAL TECHNIQUES FOR HORMONAL BALANCE
by DREW JOHNSON
Hormones are the chemical messengers that orchestrate numerous physiological processes in our bodies, influencing everything from mood and metabolism to reproduction and growth. Achieving hormonal balance is crucial for overall health and well-being, yet many individuals struggle with hormonal imbalances at various stages of life. While conventional medical treatments exist, a growing number of people are turning to holistic approaches to restore equilibrium to their hormonal systems. It’s time to explore holistic methods for balancing hormones in both men and women.
Understanding Hormonal Imbalance
Hormonal imbalance occurs when there’s either too much or too little of a particular hormone circulating in the body. This imbalance can lead to a wide range of symptoms, including fatigue, weight gain or loss, mood swings, irregular menstruation, decreased libido, and more. Factors such as stress, poor nutrition, lack of exercise, environmental toxins and aging can all contribute to hormonal disruptions.
Holistic Approaches for Hormonal Balance
Diet and Nutrition: A cornerstone of holistic hormone balance is adopting a diet rich in whole, nutrient-dense foods. Focus on consuming plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates. Consider making modifications to your diet to incorporate foods that support hormone production and metabolism, such as cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, kale), fatty fish (salmon, mackerel), nuts and seeds, fiber (fortified cereals, oats, chia seeds) and foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids (flaxseeds, chia seeds).
Stress Management: Chronic stress can disrupt hormone levels, particularly cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone. Practicing stress-reduction techniques such as meditation, yoga, deep breathing exercises and spending time in nature can help lower cortisol levels and promote hormonal balance.
Regular Exercise: Physical activity is essential for maintaining healthy hormone levels. Aim for a combination of cardiovascular exercise, strength training and flexibility exercises to support overall well-being. Exercise helps regulate insulin levels, reduce inflammation and promote the release of endorphins, which can positively impact hormone balance.
Adequate Sleep: Sleep plays a vital role in hormone regulation, with disruptions in sleep patterns often leading to hormonal imbalances. For proper sleep hygiene, aim for seven to nine hours of quality sleep per night to support hormone production, repair and rejuvenation. Establish a regular sleep schedule, create a relaxing bedtime routine and optimize your sleep environment for restful slumber.
Herbal Remedies and Supplements: Certain herbs and supplements have been used for centuries to promote hormonal balance. Examples include:
• Adaptogens: Herbs like ashwagandha, rhodiola and holy basil help the body adapt to stress and support overall hormonal health.
• Vitex: Also known as chasteberry, vitex is commonly used to regulate menstrual cycles and alleviate symptoms of PMS.
• Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Supplements containing omega-3 fatty acids can help reduce inflammation and support hormonal balance.
• Magnesium: This essential mineral plays a crucial role in hormone production and may help alleviate symptoms of PMS and menopause.
Hormone Testing and Monitoring: For those experiencing persistent symptoms of hormonal imbalance, hormone testing can provide valuable insights into specific hormone levels and imbalances. This information allows individuals to tailor their holistic approach to address their unique hormonal needs effectively.

Summer Fitness Fun
Stay active and energized all season long
Maximize the summer months by staying active outdoors! Swap indoor workouts for activities like beach yoga, paddleboarding, or cycling along scenic trails. Make the most of the longer daylight hours by scheduling early morning or evening workouts to beat the heat. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day, and enjoy the natural beauty around you as you prioritize your health and fitness in the great outdoors.
Alleviate More than Stress with Massage Therapy
Massage therapy offers more than just relaxation — it can also play a role in balancing hormones. Through various techniques, massage stimulates the body’s parasympathetic nervous system, reducing cortisol levels and promoting the release of feel-good hormones like serotonin and dopamine. This can help alleviate stress and anxiety, which are common contributors to hormonal imbalances. Additionally, massage may directly target specific hormone-regulating glands, such as the pituitary gland, promoting better hormone production and regulation throughout the body.

Discovering Sumner
The rhubarb pie capital of the world
Charming Sumner, just 13 miles from Tacoma, shines in the summer months — and especially during Rhubarb Days June 22 and 23, 2024. The farms in the Puyallup Valley make this region one of the top rhubarb producers in the country. Any visit should center around Historic Main Street filled with Mom-and-Pop storefronts and local dining establishments. The area has undergone a renaissance of late, with many new businesses adding a vibrancy to this historic area.
Shop
Parking is free in historic downtown Sumner, with areas allowing up to three hours of parking. This gives visitors time to shop and dine. Locals love their plants, especially downtown. In addition to the Main Street hanging baskets, many local businesses maintain lush and colorful pots throughout the season. Garden shops in the area are destinations, with Windmill Gardens just a short drive from downtown and the VanLierop Garden Market off Main Street. At the Windmill Gardens, guests can enjoy meals at a bistro, shop for plants and garden supplies while enjoying the outdoor space, stop in the tea shop and even get their hair done. The Garden Market has a shop filled with great gift ideas and artwork. The outdoor space is a lovely courtyard with a fountain, as well as a variety of plants and garden décor for sale.

PenMet Parks and Peninsula Art League Unite
to Enrich Gig Harbor Peninsula with Art
The 38th annual Summer Art Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever!
by JILLIAN CHANDLER
In an exciting development for the Gig Harbor Peninsula, the Peninsula Art League (PAL) and PenMet Parks have forged a partnership aimed at enhancing recreational and artistic opportunities for the community. This collaboration seeks to blend the beauty of nature with the creativity of art, fostering a vibrant cultural scene while providing enriching experiences for residents and visitors alike.
Ally Bujacich, executive director of PenMet Parks, emphasized the importance of meeting the community's evolving needs by expanding park and recreation offerings, including greater access to art. The alliance with PAL signifies a shared commitment to enriching the lives of residents through art education and engagement.
Peninsula Art League president Colette Smith expressed enthusiasm about partnering with PenMet Parks, recognizing the organization as a vital community asset. “Peninsula Art League is very pleased to collaborate with such a strong community partner to increase opportunities for our community to gather, play and create,” she shares. This collaboration aims to broaden the scope of its art-related activities, offering workshops, events and volunteer opportunities to nurture creativity and foster community connections.
One of the most exciting outcomes of this partnership is the relocation of the annual Summer Art Festival to Sehmel Homestead Park, reflecting the growing scope and popularity of the event. This move to a larger venue enables the festival to accommodate more artists, vendors and attendees, promising an even more vibrant and engaging experience for all.
Scheduled for 10am to 6pm Saturday, July 20, and 10am to 5pm Sunday, July 21, the festival will feature more than 100 artists (featuring paintings, woodwork, pottery, jewelry, fabrics and more!). Enjoy the best of local beer by Gig Harbor Brewing and 7 Seas Brewing in the festival's beer garden and a variety of food vendors including Kettle Korn, Millville Pizza, BBQ2U, Kona Ice, Pink Gorilla and Harbor Haute Dogs. Live entertainment adds to the festive atmosphere with DJ Ice Mike playing a variety of genres, and young live musicians performing during his breaks. There will be a variety of children’s activities like face painting, chalk art, make and take, and glitter tattoos. With an anticipated attendance surpassing last year's 12,000 visitors, the festival promises to be a highlight of the summer calendar, attracting art enthusiasts and families alike.
The appeal of the Summer Art Festival lies not only in its diverse offerings but also in its role as a unifying force within the community — bringing art to the community and fostering connections among artists and residents. Free to all, the festival serves as a celebration of creativity and community spirit, drawing people together in a shared appreciation of art and culture. Proceeds benefit high school scholarships. This year's festival will further its impact by partnering with the Kiwanis Club of Gig Harbor to collect non-perishable food donations for local food banks.
The collaboration between PenMet Parks and Peninsula Art League represents a significant step toward enhancing the cultural vibrancy of the Gig Harbor Peninsula. By joining forces, these organizations are poised to create lasting positive impacts, enriching lives through art, recreation and community engagement. Join them for two days of art in the park and be part of this exciting journey!
There will be free shuttle service from Gig Harbor High School (5101 Rosedale Street NW) and Franciscan Health Medical Pavilion (6401 Kimball Drive) in Gig Harbor.

RED, WHITE AND BLUE Berry Trifle
Ingredients
2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
2 cups fresh raspberries
2 tbsp. sugar (optional, depending on sweetness of berries)
2 cups fresh blueberries
2 cups fresh blackberries
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 lb. pound cake, cubed (store-bought or homemade)
Method
1. Prep the Berries: In a bowl, mix strawberries and raspberries with 2 tbsp. of sugar if desired. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to macerate.
2. Make the Whipped Cream: In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar and vanilla extract with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overbeat.
3. Assemble the Trifle: In a large glass trifle bowl or individual dessert glasses, start with a layer of cubed pound cake. Add a layer of berries and top with a layer of whipped cream. Repeat Repeat the layers until you reach the top of your trifle bowl, ending with a layer of whipped cream and a few decorative berries on top.
4. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
5. Serve: Garnish with a sprig of mint if desired and serve chilled.
Tips: This dessert can be made a few hours ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator until ready to serve. For a lighter version, you can use angel food cake instead of pound cake. Also feel free to mix in other red or blue berries of your choice, like cherries or currants, to customize the trifle to your taste.
Enjoy this refreshing, patriotic dessert at your Fourth of July celebration or any summer gathering!
PURCELL FARMS MOUNTAIN
YOUR GO-TO ONLINE HEALTHY AND ORGANIC FOOD STORE
by JILLIAN CHANDLER
Born and raised in North Idaho, Brian Dahlmann has had a passion for cooking and healthy foods for as long as he can remember. And he knew he wanted to share his love for good food with others. In 2011, inspired by the desire to make healthy foods easily available to customers, he founded Purcell Mountain Farms — an online healthy and organic food store.
Through the convenience of this online store, where items come from several farms, health-conscious consumers have the option to choose from a variety of products, such as beans, lentils and peas; pastas, grains and rice; sugar, salt and spices; yeast, flours, cereal, granola, seeds and nuts; and honey, mushrooms and chiles. Brian adds that they offer free and fast shipping via USPS and UPS.
Brian is grateful to have the opportunity to share his passion and knowledge of healthy eating with those around him, and he finds it rewarding “knowing that our customers are loving the quality of our products and the customer service provided, and also leaving 5 star reviews.”
An accredited business through the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating, Brian believes Purcell Mountain Farms has continued to be successful for the past 13 years because of their high-quality products and customers “feeling good” when they eat products purchased through Purcell.
See what their customers are saying:
“Excellent quality oat bran, very pleased. Awesome wildflower honey. I’m excited to try the others now!”
“Purcell’s rice is top-notch and only surpassed by their customer service. This was my second order I placed with Purcell Mountain Farms, and I am not disappointed. The active dry yeast is something I will always get from them; love it. We also tried spaghetti this time, and it was delicious. Love that I found a place that has great quality products and ships fast. Thank you!!!”
“We have been getting almost all of our beans from Purcell for years. Always the best.”
“Purcell Mountain Farms are the best: I love your products, shipping is always very fast and your customer service can’t be beat. Thank you very much. I look forward to shopping with you for many years.”
A family owned and operated business, located on one of the high benches above the Kootenai River Valley at the foothills of the Purcell Mountain Range in Moyie Springs, Brian enjoys being a part of a community that is “welcoming, open-minded, and where people still take the time to stop and talk to us,” he says.

There are many ways to beat the heat, and local spray grounds are some of the best. Often right next to other family activities, a spray ground can easily become a picnic with the kids and day of fun. Or, it can simply be a drop in and play spot, then home in time for nap. For info on local spray parks, check out MetroParksTacoma.org.
