Growing Together

Welcome to our August issue dedicated to Kids and Pets—two wonderful aspects of life that are sure to bring a smile to your face … especially when they follow the rules.

Recently, we came home to find our dog sitting beside an empty chewing gum container. My son had left it out, with over 20 pieces still inside. After a few frantic phone calls to our veterinarian and a quick arrangement for a family member to stay with the kids, we rushed Hope, our aptly named dog, to the animal urgent care. Following a 24-hour stay that cost as much as a family vacation, thankfully she made a full recovery.

Although I shed tears for both my ailing dog and for the hefty bill, this incident reminded me just how much pets mean to our families. Pets are more than just animals; they are friends, confidants, and sources of unconditional love. And though we may face challenges as pet owners and parents, the rewards far outweigh the struggles. Pets teach our kids about responsibility, compassion, and the beauty of simple joys.

For children, having a pet can be a transformative experience. It provides them with a sense of security and companionship that is incomparable. Whether it’s a dog eagerly awaiting their return from school, a cat patiently listening to them read, or even a small pet like a bearded dragon (read more on page 28) providing endless fascination, these relationships are integral to their growth and happiness.

As you explore the pages of this issue, we hope you find inspiration in the stories and advice shared by our contributors. From parenting tips to pet care and practical financial advice for kids heading off to college, we aim to celebrate the joy and enrichment that both children and pets bring into our lives. Together, they teach us invaluable lessons about love, responsibility, and the simple pleasures of companionship. So, embrace the laughter, cherish the cuddles, and remember that the bonds we build with our pets and our children create memories that last a lifetime.

ART TEACHER MOLLY MCFEE INSPIRES KIDS WITH THE COURAGE TO CREATE

When Molly McFee’s Cypress Springs Elementary School students line up, waiting to head into their vibrant, multicolored art classroom, many of them literally tremble with excitement and anticipation.

The enthusiastic buzz is inspiring. “It’s fun to be the fun teacher—to play, get messy, try new things,” McFee shares. As the school’s single art teacher, McFee sees every student—more than 600 kids—each week. An 11-year veteran of Dripping Springs elementary schools, she teaches seven art classes every day, each one different from the last.

As her students create, they are doing more than drawing or molding clay. “They are learning life lessons in my classroom,” McFee says. “They are developing patience and excitement for doing something new.”

McFee’s love for art began when she was very young but, in comparing herself to her “very talented” older brother, didn’t believe she was “good enough” to pursue her passion. A lifelong interest in teaching and an inspiring visit to the Art Institute of Chicago Museum prompted her to earn a double major in art and teaching from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and she has been teaching elementary school art ever since.

To push her students to explore, McFee strives to create “a place where kids feel safe to take risks.” Her secret to supporting such artistic courage is to create relationships with each student, “learning their intricacies to know how to support them.” She is a calm, friendly teacher, but she also has high standards; through getting to know each child, she understands their individual skills and capabilities and encourages them to do their best.

CONTINUED >

“Art is fun. It keeps me young. I am a kid at heart and I like being curious; I like exploring.”

She also sparks students’ confidence with her philosophy that there are no mistakes in art; it is a process, not a project. “Art doesn’t have to be pretty,” she says. “It’s about creating, problem solving, exploring rather than having a masterpiece at the end. It’s about how it makes you feel while you’re making it.”

McFee heeded this lesson as she learned to take chances with her own art, much of which features bold, colorful collages made from hand-painted paper. In the past, when creating art for others, a perfect finished product and her customer’s satisfaction were paramount. But as she transitioned away from doing commissioned work, she found her own artistic style and voice. “When I stopped making art for others, I started having success,” she says.

McFee’s “try-and-see” attitude inspires her vision for students: “I hope they become lovers of art,” she says. “Not necessarily that they become an artist, but that they appreciate the process of making something from scratch and appreciate the beauty around them.”

BEARDED DRAGONS AND BEYOND: AMANDA RUDOLPH’S

PASSION-FUELED TRANSFORMATION

““Bearded dragons aren’t fish; they’re similar to dogs, but less messy. Before bringing one home, research and make sure you’ve got the time to care for it.”

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Amanda Rudolph’s son wished for a bearded dragon for his birthday. Initially, the new pet brought excitement, but as it grew, her son's enthusiasm faded. To her surprise, taking on the task of caring for the dragon reignited Rudolph’s long-lost passion for reptiles and opened up a new chapter in her life.

Through her research on bearded dragon care, Rudolph found a vibrant community of reptile enthusiasts. This helped her rediscover “Amanda”—not just as "Mom" or "wife," but as an individual with her own interests.

Today, Rudolph's home is filled with 23 dragons, and she has learned that each possesses a distinctive personality and strong bonding abilities, making them akin to the cats and dogs of the reptile world. Although they require significant care and attention, they reward their owners with affection and companionship.

Amanda Rudolph

Through her journey with bearded dragons, Rudolph has not only found a new sense of self but also built a vibrant community around her, here in Dripping Springs and beyond. Her experience highlights the joys and rewards of caring for these unique pets and the profound impact they can have on a family’s life.

Rudolph's family have also embraced the reptile-centric lifestyle. Becoming her cheerleaders and assistants, the children live out the Rudolph family motto, “teamwork makes the dream work.”

In June, Rudolph's passion culminated with the "Drippin Dragons Reptile & Exotic Pet Expo,” an event that exceeded expectations with a fantastic turnout of vendors, animals, sponsors, food trucks, and attendees. Rudolph's family played a crucial role in the event’s success, and the supportive community made it all possible. The expo allowed first-timers to conquer their fears, interacting with animals they once found terrifying. Encouraged by the event's success, Rudolph is already planning the next expo.

Learning to Make Smart Financial Decisions Pays Dividends for Young Adults

As young adult children graduate from high school and venture into the “real world,” parents and kids alike often worry about money. In fact, as of 2022 more than 80 percent of young Americans were stressed about their finances. One reason is that many people don't know how to manage money. A study conducted in 2022 found that only half of all Americans were financially literate.

However, a young adult just starting out has a unique opportunity to make choices now that can make a big impact on their financial future. The average American will work 90,000 hours during their lifetime—if they learn to make good financial decisions, they should be able to save their money faster and thereby retire earlier.

Where to save their money is an important consideration for young adults when they begin earning an income. On average, Americans work 40 years during their lifetime and earn about $60,000 per year. That equates to over $2 million in lifetime income—income that could be lost if entrusted to the wrong financial institution.

For students heading to college, they also need to be aware of the many ways to pay for higher education. Too many young adults turn to student loans as their only option, which can take a long time to pay back. In 2024, millions of Americans over age 55 were still struggling to pay back their student loans.

Chris Kilmer is a financial advisor who can help you and your children make smart financial choices. If your young adult children would like to learn more about what to know when leaving home, Kilmer will be leading free seminars this fall. Topics include how to keep a budget, lower living expenses, rent a place to live, open a bank account, pay taxes, and pay for college.

Seminars will be held at Dripping Springs High School for graduating public school students and at the Dripping Springs Community Library for graduating homeschool students. Please visit Kilmer’s website for the dates, times, and locations of his upcoming seminars.

DEEPER CONNECTIONS

Keeping Personal Relationships at the Core of Pet Care

There are a select few who are blessed with that special connection to animals—a connection most humans have a hard time understanding. And let’s be honest, when it comes to our beloved pets, we search for that one veterinarian who demonstrates a sweet alliance with our “fur babies.”

Enter Ben Fox, DVM, of Fox Veterinary Services. With a gracious demeanor and reverent smile, Fox will put your worries to rest the moment you meet him and his staff.

Fox has possessed an attuned spirit ever since he was a young teen doing the “grunt work” at a local veterinary clinic in Seguin, Texas. Fox recalls power washing dirty kennels and knowing, without a doubt, that he wanted to care for animals as his life’s work. What he didn't know then was that helping his animals’ owners would be equally satisfying. “Through some really challenging cases, I’ve grown exceptionally close with my clients,” Fox says. “Recognizing that I can ease their minds through a medical crisis is highly rewarding to me.”

CONTINUED >

Fox graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M in 2015. What followed was a year as a traveling veterinarian, visiting clients at their homes and working all day from his truck. In January 2022, Fox finally fulfilled his dream of having his own veterinary clinic where his patients can come to him. Although he spends most of his time at the office, he hasn’t forgotten about his large-breed patients who still need home visits for their ongoing care. Additionally, Fox still offers home visits for the delicate

service of euthanasia. “In-home euthanasia is an important service for my clients, and I want to continue to provide this assistance to them,” he says.

Fox forms his inexplicable connection with animals by relating to their emotions. “I believe animals will remember a bad experience, and I never want that to be their takeaway when visiting with me or my staff,” he says. “It’s important to be patient with them, to pause and give them a moment to relax.”

“I believe animals will remember a bad experience, and I never want that to be their takeaway.

It’s important to be patient with them, to pause and give them a moment to relax.”

Now that Fox and his wife Alyssa have three children of their own (not to mention two dogs and a cat), work-life balance has become an important consideration. “I’ve alleviated after-hour calls, and I make it a point to be home by 6 p.m.,” he says. He has noticed that these adjustments help his family as well as his clients. “I’m honored to offer a happy, well-rested staff that you can rely on with the pets you call family.”

Voices of Hudson’s

ARTICLE AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY ABIGAIL THOMSEN
Six Ways Music Molds Young Leaders
Mary Margaret Dement

Hudson’s on Mercer is more than the local joint where people gather to hear good music, eat, and spend time with friends and family—the venue also features some of the best music teachers in the area, with huge hearts for our youth and an eye on their success as the next generation of leaders.

We sat down with a couple of them; here are their stories.

MARY MARGARET DEMENT

Mary Margaret Dement, a voice teacher at Hudson’s, has been married for 49 years with three children and seven grandchildren. She’s been singing and playing guitar since she was 10 years old, growing up in Austin before her family moved to Driftwood. She has performed with notable singers such as Charlie Rich, Willie Nelson, and Ray Benson and has performed at Austin City Limits and in Nashville.

“My dream was to sing, record, and play my music on the road, which I did for several years,” Dement shares. “After marriage and kids, the Lord touched my heart to leave the music industry. I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom and focus on my family, out of the spotlight.”

Family comes first in Dement’s life, and she eventually reentered the music scene with her siblings as the Kyle family and continues to perform to this day. You can still catch the Kyle sisters performing at Hudson’s periodically. Dement recalls when her nephew Chad Hudson, owner of Hudson’s on Mercer (along with his wife Natasha), would sing with her when he was just a toddler. Little did she know, years later she would teach at Chad’s very own music school at Hudson’s back home in Dripping Springs.

“Teaching was a whole new thing for me,” Dement says. “I did not know what kind of joy this would bring me.” She’s now going on nine years of teaching. “What music does to us when we sing and how it impacts others—to make others smile or bring a tear to their eye—whatever the message is, it’s about delivering it with emotion so we impact the recipient.”

One of Dement’s first records
“Be a rock star. Kids need this mentality to be the most incredible versions of themselves.” - Josh Payer

1. Music inspires confidence to speak: Time after time, Dement has witnessed the transformation as timid, quiet students find their voice and confidence through music. “I’m so attached to seeing these students grow in self-confidence,” she says. “It bleeds into every aspect of their life—writing and singing through the ups and downs from childhood to adolescence.” When a child can learn to deliver a message confidently and communicate effectively, this impacts their life beyond music.Dement adds, “Not only do we teach singing here, I teach voice placement, how to speak with a forward voice.” These skills help students land jobs and positively influence their peers.

2. Advice for parents: “Have instruments in your house. Play music in your house and car. Let it be a family affair that you enjoy together, not isolated.” Dement continues, “Appreciate the music your kids want to listen to; have

music in their lives. It’s straight from God. He has given music to us for a reason, for our souls and hearts. My motto is ‘find the song in your heart.’”

JOSH PAYER

Hudson’s guitar teacher Josh Payer began playing music and guitar at a young age. In fifth grade, he started a band with his brother, later landing a record deal in New York. He taught at a home studio before picking up music again in Dripping Springs with a large student base. He plays bass, electric, and acoustic guitar in addition to drums.

“The small-town vibe is here at Hudson’s,” Payer shares. “Teachers and students alike are all close and like family. This school is a huge staple to Dripping Springs. We are the heart of live music in Drip, so many incredible emerging artists are coming out of here. They grow up here and take their skills and talents to bless the world.”

“What music does to us when we sing and how it impacts others—to make others smile or bring a tear to their eye—whatever the message is, it’s about delivering it with emotion so we impact the recipient.”

intentionality and choosing to do it—spending a half hour in a lesson conquering a new technique with guidance and instruction. It’s about creation over consumption in such a digital, distracted world.”

3. Kids learn to dream more and go bigger through music: Payer’s purpose is “inspiring kids to prove that you can do anything you want,” he says. “Be a rock star. Kids need this mentality to be the most incredible versions of themselves. This is not portrayed enough in today’s world, and music is an avenue for this.”

1. Each student is taught differently through an individual approach: Dement and Payer treat each student differently according to their learning style. Using the same fundamentals and techniques, they teach with a student-led approach so each pupil’s curriculum is completely customized according to what they would like to learn.

2. Be intentional: Payer wants every student to experience the wonder and excitement of picking up a new instrument for the first time. He says, “It’s about

4. Your child can be a good musician even if they don’t naturally have an ear for it: “Playing a new instrument is like learning to speak another language. You’re adding a whole other element to your personality, the ability to do something other people can’t,” Payer says. “You don’t have to have an ear—the fact that these young kids put in the work and become good musicians helps them in every other aspect of life.” Dement and Payer teach students from four years old to grandparents. Go try a class!

Harmonious Living

Imagine a world where the constant struggle between work and family no longer feels like a precarious balancing act but, rather, a harmonious dance. The stress of modern parenting often spills over into our children's lives, but what if there were ways to transform this struggle into a seamless blend of responsibilities? This article explores the profound impact of parental stress on children and how effective work-life integration can benefit your family.

IMPACT OF PARENTAL STRESS ON CHILDREN

When stressed, parents often have less emotional and physical energy to engage positively with their children. This can lead to children’s emotional changes, behavioral issues, and challenges with academic performance. Children may sense their parents’ stress, leading to increased anxiety and insecurity. They may become withdrawn, exhibit clingy behavior, or display increased irritability and tantrums.

ARTICLE BY RAQUELLE AKAVAN, DMSC, PA-C
PHOTOGRAPHY BY LAUREN CLARK AND JEWELS PRODUCTION

Children rely on stability and routines. Stress in the household can disrupt these habits, resulting in behavioral issues such as aggression, defiance, or difficulty with social interactions. The emotional burden can also lead to decreased motivation and poor performance in school.

WORK-LIFE BALANCE VS. WORK-LIFE INTEGRATION

The traditional concept of work-life balance implies that there is a rigid separation between work and personal life, aiming for that ideal harmony where work responsibilities and personal activities do not overlap. However, this approach often proves to be unachievable due to the reality of overlapping demands and responsibilities of everyday life. In contrast, work-life integration focuses on blending professional and personal responsibilities into a cohesive whole, allowing for a more adaptable and realistic approach to managing work and family demands.

WORK-LIFE INTEGRATION AS A MITIGATION STRATEGY

Work-life integration is a holistic approach that can alleviate parental stress and create a more supportive environment for children. So how can you achieve healthy work-life integration?

Achieving Flexible Work Arrangements: Flexible work schedules and choosing employers who value family can help parents better manage their time and reduce stress. It is important to communicate with your employer about how flexibility can improve your productivity and overall well-being. It’s essential to come prepared with a plan detailing how you will manage your responsibilities with the proposed flexibility.

Setting Boundaries: Establishing clear boundaries between work and personal life is crucial. For instance, a parent might decide not to check work emails after a certain time in the evening. These boundaries help ensure that work does not encroach on family time, allowing parents to be fully present for their children.

Prioritizing Self-Care: Parents need to engage in selfcare and renewal in order to manage their stress effectively. This includes activities such as exercise, hobbies, or spending quality time with loved ones. Self-care is very individual and is different from person to person. It is key to engage in self-care to maintain overall well-being and be emotionally available to your children.

Supportive Work Culture: Choosing an organization that promotes a supportive work culture where employees feel safe and valued contributes significantly to reducing stress. Trust in leadership, empathy, and open communication are critical components of such a culture. When parents feel supported at work, they are less likely to bring work-related stress home.

RAQUELLE AKAVAN

Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence: Practicing mindfulness helps parents stay present and manage their reactions better. Developing emotional intelligence enables them to understand and manage their own emotions as well as respond appropriately to their children’s needs.

Parental stress can have profound effects on children, but work-life integration offers a practical approach to reducing these impacts. By embracing flexibility, setting boundaries, prioritizing self-care, choosing a job with a supportive work culture, and practicing mindfulness, parents can reduce their stress levels. This will not only improve the parents’ well-being but also create a more positive and nurturing environment for their children. Implementing these strategies can lead to a harmonious balance between professional responsibilities and personal life, ultimately benefiting the entire family.

Karate Skills with Parental Companionship

Karate can play a critical role in your child’s health, both mentally and physically. What is more, when parents participate along with their child, karate can enrich relationships and set adults and children up for success. Master Nelson Nathaniel, founder and owner of Austin Karate Center in Belterra, shares how:

1. Decrease Digital Consumption.

“When I see a kid on a device and others are conversing and interacting, that tells me there is a big disconnect between the parent and that child,” Nathaniel says. He encourages families to put technology away for one to two hours per day and focus on yourself and your child. Karate is a great avenue to unplug together.

2. Develop Mental Endurance.

Karate helps adults and kids endure fear and discomfort. Nathaniel explains, “Here you have to confront your fear and learn to control pain … the student begins to understand, ‘this hurts, but I can go past it.’ Mind over matter.” Although fighting can be scary at first,

“once you understand how to protect, block, defend, or move, you start to understand who you are,” he continues. “Pressure is what is going to allow us to grow.”

3. Parental Involvement.

Nathaniel finds that kids whose parents do martial arts improve quickly. “It’s because Mom and Dad have brought themselves down to the level of the kids and shown them, ‘I’m just like you; I’m a beginner too.’ These families are super tight.” And it’s not just about the kids. Parents who own businesses or are in highstress work positions find that they can relieve their own anxiety with the lessons learned in karate. “This is understanding how to deal with pressure. Fighting puts other pressure into perspective and learning how to control what you can control instead of feeling helpless,” Nathaniel concludes.

Karate teaches students of all ages to respect others, which then translates to self-respect. It is not a fast process; it requires consistency and support from parents. Nathaniel states, “We partner with parents to grow strong leaders!”

MASON AND ANNA STEVENS MANAGE BUSINESS AND BUSY KIDS

Many families are familiar with the juggling act required when two parents are full-time, busy professionals and the kids have their own demanding schedules. For Mason and Anna Stevens, owners of Glass Well Service & Softeners, balancing the demands of business and family is possible with a focus on faith and a little help from their friends.

ARTICLE BY MELISSA SVOBODA PHOTOGRAPHY BY KRISTEN HAFNER
“WE ARE FORTUNATE TO HAVE TRUSTED FRIENDS AND TEAMMATES TO HELP OUT. THAT’S ONE THING I LOVE ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY.”
- ANNA STEVENS

After 18 years working in the corporate world as an environmental consultant, in 2021 Mason purchased Glass Well, a family company that has drilled and serviced water wells in Central Texas for five generations. With offices in Dripping Springs and now in Wimberley, Glass Well assists with the installation of new wells, inspects and repairs wells and pumps, installs constant pressure systems, offers water treatment and filtration, and more.

“DRIPPING SPRINGS IS BOOMING, BUT IT’S BOOMING WITH GOOD PEOPLE.”
- MASON STEVENS

Now running his own business, Mason’s responsibilities are countless and constant, and Anna manages her own career as a corporate professional and a realtor. Meanwhile, their two athletic and social sons, 11-year-old Cooper and eight-yearold Kipp, keep the family calendar full with baseball, flag football, and basketball practices and games. The family’s beloved Boston terrier, Ruth, also adds energy to the lively family. “Every day is different!” Anna remarks.

To keep up with their kids, Mason and Anna have learned to communicate well and prioritize to avoid overload. Although

he’s always on call and available to respond to urgent customer needs, Mason strives to “leave work at work.” He says, “When it’s time to shut it down, I do.”

The Stevens family also leans on their community to keep all the balls in the air. Before moving to Dripping Springs eight years ago, Mason and Anna prayed for good friends and neighbors. They have found that and more. Surrounded by people who share their family goals and values, Mason shares, “We’re pretty blessed to be here. Dripping Springs is booming, but it’s booming with good people.”

Such good people can help keep the chaos in check; for example, carpooling is key with busy sports schedules. “We are fortunate to have trusted friends and teammates to help out,” Anna says. “That’s one thing I love about our community.”

Despite their busy lives, the Stevens family also knows how to slow down. Self-defined “homebodies,” they enjoy keeping family time simple with activities like swimming, fishing, or playing games. “Home is our happy place,” says Anna.

In balancing business and family life, ultimately the Stevenses lean on their faith to keep things manageable, aiming to “treat situations through a Godly lens.” Such perspective is evident in Mason’s passionate commitment to honesty and communication with his customers. “Mason was made to be a business owner,” says Anna. “His character and values—he really brings that into the business.”

DSCL serves as a center for lifelong learning for more than 52,000 Dripping Springs residents; with usage rapidly increasing, expanded facilities and resources are essential. The library’s “Beyond Books, Building Community” campaign seeks community support to raise $5 million for a new library, ensuring it remains a center for education and engagement for generations to come.

The new library is located behind the current building, near Dripping Springs High School on Mighty Tiger Trail, and will be four times larger than the present library. Its 13,000-square-foot children’s floor will feature a makerspace, meeting rooms, a dedicated story time area, an outdoor play space, and a story walk for exploring the beautiful surroundings.

The library is a hub for early education, offering an abundance of resources and engaging programs designed to foster a love of learning and literacy from a young age. DSCL recently brought on new children’s librarian Olivia Ochoa who, along with the entire children’s staff, is making reading so much fun! In fact, DSCL was voted “Best in Children’s Entertainment” in Dripping Springs Century News’ “Best of Dripping Springs” annual competition.

DRIP CELEBRATES SUMMER AT JUBILEE

On June 1, Dripping Springs City Lifestyle came together with the Headwaters community to host the first annual Dripping Jubilee event. Despite the high temperatures, the Dripping Springs community really showed up to make this event a fun one for the entire family! Hosted in Headwaters, the Jubilee featured about 20 local businesses; food trucks from Garbo’s, Flight Ice Cream, and Amy’s Ice Cream; and multiple Hill Country-based adult beverage options. Excited to kick off summer with the community, people of all ages enjoyed the live music as they danced and visited with neighbors.

DOG

SOCIALIZING

“Socializing your dog is beneficial for both dogs and their owners,” says Taryn Tyler, a certified dog trainer. “It creates confidence for both dogs and owners and displaces the anxiety we feel when our dogs aren’t behaving like we want them to.”

Taryn stresses that teaching a dog to sit or stay is less about tricks and more about the relationship that builds between animal and owner. “We all love our dogs, but they can be stressful when they can’t seem to click in our home environments.

• Socializing is more than taking your dog in public. A guy can dump a bunch of mulch in your driveway and spread it, but he’s not a landscaper until he’s following a plan. When the doorbell rings or a visitor comes into the house, what’s our expectation for the dog? When we’re in public and the dog’s attention is diverted, what’s our plan to refocus them? Socialization is 99 percent working on small steps as part of a larger plan.

• Socializing isn’t about our dogs being the center of attention in public. Everyone loves seeing a dog, but our best outcome for the dog is to go unnoticed. Sitting by our side, ignoring external stimuli, remaining calm—those are things we strive for when socializing a dog.

• When socializing dogs with other dogs, start small. Take a walk with another dog to get them to just exist in the same vicinity. Once they’re able to not be excited by the other dog, work on limited playing in controlled environments.

• If someone comes into your home, let them know what boundaries you’re working on with your dog. You can even suggest asking them to carry a few treats and work on some of the behaviors your dog is already comfortable with.

HOW TO THROW A BIRTHDAY BASH FOR YOUR FOUR-LEGGED FRIENDS:

Once your dog is able to socialize with other pets, playdates are a great way to encourage good play behavior. One way to celebrate your pup’s birthday is to celebrate with their favorite furry friends. Here are a few helpful tips for making your gathering a success.

• Set up play areas for your furry guests to enjoy. This can include a doggy pool or splash pad, chew toys, frisbees, and don’t forget the pet-friendly bubbles.

• Offer party guests birthday attire such as a birthday hat, bandana or party outfit. Set up a photo wall for pet owners to get photos with their furry friends in their birthday outfits. Better yet, make it a costume competition, and invite guests to come dressed up ready to show off their pup’s attire.

• Create a treat display with a pet-friendly birthday cake and various chewy snacks for guests to give their pups.

• Party favors are a must to end your festivities with a bang. Fill party bags with bouncy balls, treats, and pet-friendly bubbles to send your guests off with a smile.
