The Style Issue

Hello Dripping friends and welcome to our Style Issue.
We have hit the season of easing out of flip-flops and tanks as we pull on our jeans and boots. Prematurely of course. For the next few months, we will likely convince ourselves it’s okay to sweat profusely as long as we have a fall-scented candle lit and football on TV. Hang in there. Seventy-degree weather is on the horizon.
Style: A form of self-expression that communicates who we are without words.
It goes beyond the clothes we wear; it influences every aspect of our lives. From home decor to the music we enjoy, from the books we read to our demeanor in conversations, style plays a role in everything we do. It even plays a significant part in who we share our lives with, as it becomes a connecting thread binding like-minded people together.
Whether one likes to admit it or not, even claiming to “not have style,” is your style. The best style is an authentic expression of who you really are, which no one on earth can duplicate. It took me far too long to come to that realization. It’s okay to ignore the do’s and don’ts of Woman’s World Daily, GQ and Southern Living. What matters is that you’re proud and confident in who you are.
You might be the kind of person who rocks toe-socks with Birkenstocks and proudly displays cat paintings all over your home. Do not nervously apologize for your distinctive taste. Own it. Be proud. After all, it makes you happy and that’s what ultimately matters.
As we dive into the pages this month, let’s strive to have an open mind. Local boutiques, new developments, home decor, and unique art, each represent the style of our town. There is so much here in Dripping Springs to uplift our spirits and ignite your creativity.
Here’s to embracing being uniquely you!

THE INSPIRING JOURNEY OF STUART ALKIRE IN BUILDING DREAM HOMES
Stuart Alkire started Alkire Construction in 2009, the year following a historic stock market crash.
“So, challenges and tough times don’t distract me when I have my eye on the ball,” Alkire says. Born and raised in San Antonio, Alkire earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at Texas A&M University. As a senior, he met his future wife, Brooke, in a study abroad program.
“I fell in love with Dripping Springs right when I moved to Austin out of college. But working for a homebuilder kept me in other parts of Austin since the secret of Dripping hadn’t gotten out yet,” Alkire says.
He was a top construction manager when he was laid off after the 2008 crash. Alkire took a chance, flipping his South Austin home and using the profit to build a spec house in Lakeway.
“My heart lies with the Craftsman style of design. Whenever I can introduce those elements, I will.”
His favorite features are natural light, thoughtful and useful spaces, and cozy design. He used that with his Texas Craftsman home to great success.
“I will always think of that home as my standard and a reminder as to why I build. It was a challenge, and I love a good design challenge.”
Alkire Construction might have started in Lakeway, but Dripping Springs was their destination.
“Dripping is home. No question about it. It’s the best city in Texas. I love the small town feel and the culture that comes with it. The community is outstanding and isn’t comparable to anywhere else in Austin.”
His family is here. His daughter, Kennedy, participates in gymnastics at Moxie, and his son, Preston, wants to be on the A Basketball team at Dripping Springs Middle School.
Stuart Alkire loves designing and building homes. He’s the lead designer and project overseer with Alkire Construction.
“It’s the most rewarding, tangible industry,” Alkire says.
“A bathroom can be serene and relaxing. The right kitchen creates memories and, as cliché as it is, it’s the heart of the home. I love to create a design based on how the client lives in their kitchen. Some are simple and clean, and others are elaborate with chef’s kitchens and wild pantries. But regardless of type, this is where most people spend their time, and it absolutely must be special.”
“At Ecoland, our team provides creative solutions to promote spaces that drive community, connection, and excitement. We love partnering with developers, builders, and design professionals delivering new adventures to our community.”
If you’re looking to get your commercial project off the ground, get in touch. Let’s design something amazing, together.

Clear vision is empowering. For those seeking total freedom from eyewear, Heart of Texas Eye Care provides options for laser vision correction. The physicians and staff work together to create the ultimate patient experience. They strive to provide the best in eye care and are dedicated to delivering efficient, state-of-the-art, ethical patient care.
“Style and lifestyle are not the same thing, but they are related. I consider great vision as a must for a carefree lifestyle,” says Lara Dudek, M.D. “Style accessories like jewelry and non-prescription glasses are optional and change with the trends. Vision correction affects the way we function and impacts our lifestyle."
We use our vision every waking moment of the day. For ease and safety, laser vision correction has the highest satisfaction rates of any elective procedure. It is a cheaper and safer alternative to prolonged contact lens use. The practice uses the most advanced diagnostics to form a
customized plan. “It is like getting a tailored suit rather than one off the rack.”
“The day after a procedure is like a big reveal. The team has measured, planned and programmed the procedure that is the best fit for the patient. To witness someone who has needed glasses to drive and convert them so someone who can see clearly with a procedure that takes less than 20 minutes is nothing short of miraculous,” she says. “The impact for travel, exercise, water sports or simply waking up is very underestimated. It is truly one of the biggest joys of my life to witness this gift of liberation."
In addition to laser vision correction, they also offer cataract surgery to improve clarity of vision and provide patients with a fresh outlook on life. For those who prefer to accessorize their eyes, they also prescribe glasses and contacts.
”Style” is a subjective term, isn’t it? It could mean two completely different things depending on who you ask. When designing your home, we believe style should embody all qualities forward-thinking, warmth, efficiency, and respect of its surroundings.
Ultimately, though, style should embody YOU, our homeowner. Follow us @drippingbuilder, and tell us what style means to you. We look forward to making that come to life.

From Rural Roots to Urban Landscapes, Transforming Communities Through Natural Style
BJ Jones loves to be in nature. Born in Texas and raised in rural Kentucky, BJ spent his time working in tobacco fields, hunting, fishing and playing sports. His passion for the outdoors led him to his career in landscape architecture. He started his company, Ecoland Design Group in 2009. His work and passion are on display all over Dripping Springs, where he lives with his wife, Jaime, daughter, Mila, and son, Beckham.
“Everyone brings a unique set of skills, experiences and perspectives, but we can find common ground rooted in faith, family and our friendships,” says BJ. “This collective energy and understanding to support one another creates a source of strength and resilience. This is Dripping Springs.”
Ecoland’s work portfolio stretches from big box retailers like Home Depot and AAA Storage to local family operations such as P. Terry’s and Mighty Fine Burgers. BJ and his team’s newest Dripping Springs projects include Pet Paradise and the development that now houses FUSE workspace. In addition to a growing list of commercial clients, BJ’s passion is working with multifamily communities.
“From designing the pools, outdoor amenity areas, parks and trail systems
to preserving large strands of desirable trees with existing site-specific character, I’m so proud of the work we’ve done at the Ridge at Headwaters, Merritt Hill Country and Bunker Ranch,” he says. Although Ecoland works on a wide variety of projects, BJ maintains a consistent signature style. “I’ve always been a fan of trying to blur indoor and outdoor space by sharing the best of both worlds,” he says. “Biophilic design uses elements of nature in architecture and engineering to improve well-being, health and productivity. This includes natural elements of light and air, sightlines that feature views of nature, and natural patterns in finishes and textures.”
BJ’s work extends to several charitable organizations in Austin and the surrounding areas. “One of our oldest commitments is to the Hill Country Conservancy and Violet Crown project,” he says. “It’s crazy to think that a small grassroots group could put together a continuous trail that when finished will stretch 30 miles from downtown Austin deep into Hays County.” Closer to home, BJ also works with the WillPower Foundation and the Dripping Springs Education Foundation.

1) THERE IS NO “RIGHT WAY” TO DRESS: JUST EFFECTIVE OR INEFFECTIVE.
Are you dressing to stand out, or perhaps to fit in? Maybe it’s about functionality, like for the gym or work. If you’re a workout-clothing-everyday person there is nothing wrong with that. Effective or ineffective can only be judged by you, once you’ve determined what it is you want out of your clothing.
2) CLOTHES CAN AMPLIFY WHAT YOU’RE ALREADY FEELING.
Why do some people pull off certain looks while others can wear the same clothes and totally bomb?
It’s because your outfit amplifies what you’re already feeling. If you’re confident, and you dig the outfit you picked out, it will amplify your confidence.
If you’re feeling insecure, and you wear clothes that you’re unsure about (maybe because a stylist or spouse picked them) the clothing will amplify the insecurity you feel.
3) VIBE CHECK: CLOTHES CAN BE A MAGNET FOR LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE.
They can give subtle clues to what “tribe” we’re in. Just like a magnet, clothes will attract or repel. The bolder the style, the more magnetic (and therefore polarizing) it becomes.

Kristen Currie’s day starts at 1:30 a.m. KXAN’s morning meteorologist leaves her Dripping Springs home and arrives at the downtown Austin station by 3 a.m. Ninety minutes later, she’s live on the air, sharing her forecast and updating viewers on current conditions across the 15-county viewing area.
She’s arguably Dripping Springs’ most visible resident, but Kristen isn’t obsessed with style. “If it was up to me, I’d wear a potato sack every day on TV,” she says. “Ultimately, we’re not here to be fashion icons, we’re here to keep people safe and informed."
She downplays the importance of her outfits (no patterns, no stripes, no polka dots and absolutely no green), but she is quick to acknowledge her style is a topic of conversation.
“I want to be able to inspire the next generation. It’s a maledominated industry in science and meteorology. I hope to use my position as the only female on the team to inspire the next generation.”Currie
“More than half the emails are about appearance. Many are nice. Unfortunately, some viewers feel empowered by the ability to be anonymous behind the keyboard,” she says. “When you first start, it hurts a little more than it does 10 years in. Most of the time, it has nothing to do with what I’m wearing, it’s about their day and their mood.”
A Southern California native, her career has taken her from Boulder, CO, to Albuquerque, NM, to Lubbock and now Dripping Springs.
In 2020, her real estate agent suggested a house outside of her South Austin neighborhood. “‘It’s a little far, but I think you’re gonna like it,’” Kristen remembers. “On my way, I thought ‘This is way far!’ When I went through Dripping Springs, it was much slower than Austin. I loved it.”
After four and a half hours on the air, she signs off and prepares the day’s forecast with her station’s team of six meteorologists. She also preps for one of her favorite activities: visiting local schools.
“I love what I do, and I feel so blessed,” says Kristen. “I want to be able to inspire the next generation. It’s a male-dominated industry in science and meteorology. I hope to use my position as the only female on the team to inspire the next generation.”
She’s out the door at 10:30 a.m., headed home. Thanks to the overnight hours, traffic isn’t an issue. “I like to decompress on the ride. It’s just me and the wildlife at 2 a.m. on 290,” she laughs.
She’s alone in the car, but not in her neighborhood. “I have never been so lucky with my neighbors in Dripping Springs. I hit the jackpot.”
Now that you’ve purged, reflect on what you want to achieve and how you want to feel. Focus on creating new routines and habits that align with your goals and values.
Many people spend time (and lots of money) remodeling homes, sprucing up yards and updating wardrobes.
But, what about a mindset makeover?
It’s easy to focus on how things look, but we must also pay attention to the ways we think and behave. To update your mental closet, here are some styling tips for cultivating a mindset to bring out your best.
It’s essential to clear out the mental clutter to create space for growth and transformation. Identify and let go of things that weigh you down. Consider how many hours you’re spending scrolling social media or binge-watching true crime dramas. Instead, find more uplifting content or take the time to learn a new skill.
Next, tackle toxic relationships that drain your energy. Choose to invest in relationships that nurture and inspire you. We become the average of the five people we spend the most time with. Carefully choose your inner circle.
Let go of bitterness and resentment by practicing forgiveness and making space for positivity and evolution.
Establish a morning routine that sets a positive tone for your day. This may include prayer, meditation, reading personal development material, journaling, and setting a daily intention. Engaging in physical movement is also crucial for a healthy mind and body, so find an activity that you enjoy and make it a regular part of your daily routine.
Throughout the day, take time to do a 5minute “release” meditation, or walk around the block to refresh and recharge. As you transition from one part of your day to the next, pause and set an intention for the next activity.
Just as the right bag or shoes make an outfit sing, our relationships help our mindsets thrive. Maintaining healthy relationships with friends and family is vital to our mental health.
You can always tell someone’s priorities by what’s on their calendar. Identify the people you need to see, map out your week in advance and put it in writing.
Curate a life that reflects the very best of who you are and who you aspire to become. If you can’t see a way out of negative thinking, don’t be afraid to ask for help from a therapist or a qualified life coach. Remember, people are counting on you and you’re worth it.

Emily Shirley is a talented musician with iconic style and an eye for design. When she’s not making music, Emily is a graphic designer for musicians’ album art and posters. She is also a devoted mother to two daughters attending high school and middle school in DSISD.
Emily’s musical style is a piano-based hybrid of folk and pop music filled with harmonies. When performing, she tends to pair basics like flared jeans with a simple top, or black skinny jeans with a black blouse. She adds splashes of color by wearing big, ornate earrings or bright, bold lipstick. Her beloved suede, studded boots are her newest staple on stage.
Turquoise holds sentimental value for Emily, and she frequently incorporates it into her outfits. “I almost always wear a turquoise ring, cuff bracelet or earrings,” Emily says. “I’ve created quite a collection from trips to New Mexico and Colorado over the years.”
Emily is an active participant in three distinct musical projects, each with a unique fashion flair. During solo performances, her outfits reflect her personality. As a member of Sister Golden Hair, a ’60s and ’70s cover band, she embraces the fashion of those decades, sporting flared jeans, tie-dye and vibrant florals. In The Belle Sounds, a modern indie-pop band with hints of ’80s disco, she opts for mostly black attire with pops of silver, gold and sequins.
Emily enjoys shopping at Free People, thrift stores and everywhere in between. Her go-to local spots are Starrs on Mercer in Dripping Springs and The Gypsy Market in Wimberley.
“Music and fashion are such strong, creative forms of self-expression,” says Emily.

BREAK FREE FROM THE STIGMA OF TRADITIONAL STYLE
Transitional style is a versatile and comfortable style that combines elements from different design aesthetics, allowing you to create a harmonious and inviting living space. The main idea behind transitional decor is to strike a balance between traditional and contemporary elements, offering a timeless and adaptable look.
HERE ARE SOME KEY CHARACTERISTICS AND TIPS TO ACHIEVE A TRANSITIONAL STYLE:
1. BLEND OF STYLES: Transitional decor seamlessly blends traditional and contemporary design elements. It takes the best of both worlds, creating a cohesive and balanced atmosphere.
2. FOCUS ON COMFORT: Comfort is a central theme in transitional decor. Furniture is often plush and inviting, with an emphasis on creating a warm and cozy environment.
3. CLEAN LINES: While transitional design incorporates some traditional curved lines, it also embraces cleaner, straight lines commonly found in modern styles. This combination creates a pleasing and sophisticated visual appeal.
4. SOFT COLOR PALETTE: Soft, neutral colors are a hallmark of transitional decor. Whites, creams, beige and muted pastels are frequently used to establish a calming and relaxed ambiance.
5. POPS OF COLOR: While the base colors are subdued, transitional spaces allow for the incorporation of pops of color through accessories like rugs, artwork, cushions and lighting fixtures. These accents add personality and interest to the overall design.
6. FLEXIBLE AND TIMELESS: Transitional decor allows for growth and adaptation over time. It’s not tied to rigid rules or trendy fads, making it a timeless and enduring style.
7. EMPHASIS ON TEXTURES: To add depth and interest to the space, incorporate various textures such as woven fabrics, smooth surfaces and soft materials. Texture helps create a tactile and visually appealing environment.
8. LAYERING: Layering different elements, such as rugs, throw pillows and curtains, adds depth and dimension to the space while contributing to a comfortable and lived-in feel.
9. UNCLUTTERED SPACE: Despite the mix of styles, transitional decor usually maintains a sense of simplicity and unclutteredness. Less is more, and the focus is on quality over quantity.
10. VERSATILE FURNITURE: Choose furniture pieces that have classic designs and can easily transition between different styles. This flexibility ensures that your space remains cohesive even if you decide to change elements later on.
By incorporating these elements, you can create a welcoming and flexible transitional style that perfectly balances traditional and contemporary aesthetics while offering a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Follow along for more design inspiration at @danyalekeimdesign. DanyaleKeimDesign.com
DRIPPING SPRINGS’ NEWEST PROJECT FROM CLINARD PROPERTIES
ARTICLE BY COURTNEY BOWENDevelopers Mike and Kim Clinard know more than a thing or two about the Hill Country. Under the name Ranches at Real Estate, they’re behind the enviable properties at Ranches at Sentinel Peak in Fischer, Ranches at Round Mountain near Marble Falls, and recently announced Ranches at Dripping Springs. When looking for the location of their next project, fast-growing Dripping Springs was at the top of their list.
“We chose Dripping Springs because it is a great market nestled in the heart of the Hill Country,” Mike says.
Since Clinard Properties’ founding in 2014, the Clinards have partnered with Mark and France Clausen, principles of the award-winning Veritas Group based in Dripping Springs. Together, they sold out the renowned Ranches at Sentinel Peak and
now eagerly anticipate marketing the Ranches at Dripping Springs.
Like the other ranch developments, Ranches at Dripping Springs is focused on low-density development with luxury ranchettes on large tracts. The Clinard team protects the land through wildlife management and promotes high-end ranch-style homes.
“Amazing views for every lot are critical. As is maintaining the minimum acreage required for wildlife management and proximity to urban amenities,” Mike says. “We want every lot to have an award-winning view.”
The new project has 23 exclusive land tracts spanning 13 to 20 acres each. The 389-acre planned community is located just a few miles from Highway 290 at the Hays/Blanco County line along FM 165. The highest peaks within the community are more than 1,600 feet in elevation. CONTINUED >
“There are stunning views in all directions looking toward Dripping Springs, Spicewood, Marble Falls, Johnson City and the hilltops and canyons along the FM 165 corridor,” Mike adds.
He also notes that amazing canyons, small ponds and a few seasonal “dripping springs” distinguish the development from others.
The Clinards’ passion for the land is undeniable. When a portion of the project was caught in a 400-acre fire, they didn’t back down.
“There were burned trees covering a large portion of the property. Restoring the natural beauty is something we are excited to deliver,” says Kim.
Mike is no stranger to managing large-scale operations. Prior to starting Clinard Properties, he spent 18 years with Cardtronics, a global leader in managing ATMs. As COO and President of Global Services, he was instrumental to the company’s success and growth.
The couple has been married for 27 years. Mike was born and raised in Houston, and Kim is from Southern California. They raised their three children, Madie (age 27), Kait (age 25) and Jack (age 20), in Katy, and are delighted that Madie’s husband, Trevor Conn, is involved with their company and contributing to its success.
Mike and Kim live a God-centered life and have their own ranch in between Wimberley, Dripping Springs and Blanco where Kim pursues her passions for birds, nature, and taking care of animals, including their llamas, goats, horses, longhorns, cows and chickens.
Part of the vision of Ranches at Real Estate is to deliver this ranch lifestyle on a smaller scale because not everyone desires a large ranch. The easier-tomanage tracts still have plenty of room for animals, wildlife and your dreams to grow. RanchesatRealEstate.com

Many people think about chiropractic as a treatment for back pain and neck pain. While chiropractic does help incredibly well in resolving pain, the best use case for chiropractic care is to improve the function of your body holistically. The most direct approach to improving function is to improve your relationship with gravity—your posture. Think of any structure in our physical world. When the structure is compromised, so goes the function. Chiropractic BioPhysics, the most researched and validated technique in chiropractic, specifically addresses spinal structure to improve your posture and your personal relationship to gravity.
Countless studies have been done to illustrate the importance of proper posture in regard to preventing degeneration, improving blood flow, enhancing nerve transmission, optimizing human performance, and boosting longevity. What gets very interesting in practice is witnessing how
improved posture improves patient confidence, mindset, and appearance.
First impressions are powerful, and posture plays a significant role in shaping those initial perceptions. Studies have shown that individuals with proper posture are often perceived as more likable, competent, and attractive than their slouched counterparts. When we encounter someone with good posture, we tend to associate positive qualities with them such as professionalism, self-discipline, and attractiveness.
Chiropractic BioPhysics will help to alleviate pain and improve posture. This allows individuals to move freely, with strength, and confidently. Feeling comfortable in one’s body is a crucial aspect of developing a healthy personal style. When people feel good physically, they are more likely to experiment with different styles and express themselves boldly and with poise. Find out more about Chiropractic BioPhysics at IdealSpine.com
Every success story begins with a spark of inspiration. For Sara Kenton, it was witnessing her husband’s unbridled enthusiasm over a $400 cooler from a company called YETI. Drawn by the emotional connection it forged with consumers, she knew she wanted to work for a brand that could inspire such passion. This desire eventually led her to join YETI, where she played a pivotal role in building their direct-toconsumer business from scratch.
Born in Austin and raised in Overland Park, KS, Sara returned to her roots to attend The University of Texas at Austin. “It was at UT that I developed an appreciation for brands capable of forging genuine, emotional connections with consumers,” says Sara.
While at YETI, fate intervened when Sara crossed paths with Chris Keller, who shared her Kansas upbringing and a passion for quality products. As coworkers, the duo helped propel YETI from a $30 million venture to nearly a billion-dollar corporation. Despite their successes, they longed for the startup days and dreamed of building something of their own.
Their shared expertise in rotational molding, the manufacturing process behind YETI’s coolers, laid the foundation for their next venture. Both with young
families and a love for the outdoors, they envisioned enhancing outdoor experiences in their backyards. Thus, Tupelo was born, a company committed to crafting heirloom-quality outdoor furniture with durability and artistic design.
Their first product, the Loop Chair, launched in 2021 marking the beginning of Tupelo’s journey. To achieve their vision, they enlisted the help of Steve Nichols, a talented product and design expert, who elevated their ideas to new heights. The product line expanded to include four chairs and accessories like Cornhole and the Zephyr Tree Swing.
Tupelo’s dedication to craftsmanship and design soon garnered recognition from prominent media outlets such as Architectural Digest, HGTV, Forbes and more. Their commitment to “keeping it simple” became a core value. This permeated every aspect of their business, from product design to customer service and marketing.
As a fast-growing retail network emerged, Tupelo’s furniture found its place in high-end outdoor furniture stores in design-savvy cities like Los Angeles, Miami and New York, as well as local establishments like The Backyard and Patio Store in Bee Cave.
As Tupelo continued to gain momentum, the founders’ focus shifted to scaling the
business while staying true to their original vision. The passion and hard work invested into Tupelo’s growth reflected their dedication to the brand, its products, and the community that supported them.
“We take immense pride in building Tupelo here in Dripping Springs, as this community’s unwavering support has been humbling, and we want to make this town proud,” says Sara.
“My husband, Adam, recently marked his 15th year of teaching at Rooster Springs Elementary.” The Kentons have an eighthgrade son and a sixth-grade daughter, both sports enthusiasts. Sara has proudly coached volleyball at DSYSA for five years. Chris and Erin Keller’s fifth- and eighthgrade daughters are also involved in sports and cheer for Dripping Springs.
Approaching its fifth year, Tupelo remains committed to crafting exceptional outdoor furniture while fostering a love for the outdoors in families across the nation. Sara and Chris’ journey is a testament to the power of passion, dedication and the unyielding pursuit of simplicity to build a brand with an enduring connection to its customers.
As a “DIY” bride, Elissa Gallegos crafted nearly everything for her big day. During this time, the trend of bouquet preservation gained popularity. Eager to immortalize her own wedding bouquet, she sought the guidance of a professional floral preservationist, attending classes to learn the art.

Alvie Faulkenbery grew up in East Texas. “Everyone wore cowboy boots, but it was just never my thing, and I felt like a poser any time I tried them on. I was more of a long-haired flip-flop guy,” he says.
That all changed once he slipped on a pair he inherited from his late grandfather. “After putting them on, I was shocked at how good they felt, and at how good they made me feel. Plus, they reminded me of him,” says Alvie. “And shortly after, I realized that I could pull off the style and didn’t have to look like a cowboy to wear cowboy boots.”
Alvie set out to make the finest boots in the world, all while maintaining a hyperlocal presence. “We love Austin and the Hill Country. Nowhere else will you find the same mix of hippies and cowboys, tech moguls and musicians,” he says. “It’s a place where everyone is free to be themselves.”
Alvies boots are handmade in traditional artisan style in León, Mexico, where
the bootmaking trade goes back centuries. The boots have a timeless design, and every pair includes signature features that make Alvies comfortable and durable.
The boots are made in Mexico but the spirit of the brand lives in the Hill Country. Vice President of Operations Bear Connery lives in Dripping Springs. “The area encompasses everything anyone would want to brag about, and at the same time, we like to keep it our little secret,” Bear says.
Like Dripping Springs, Alvies has evolved and maintained a classic Texas spirit. “We take a ton of pride in creating timeless cowboy boots with signature design and purpose behind every design element,” says Alvie. “To top it off, all of our boots come with a lifetime guarantee and our family name on the boot, which shows our confidence in our product.”

The Cucumber Gimlet is a refreshing cocktail. If you’re not a fan of cucumber, you can substitute any flavor of vodka. To make your own cucumber flavor, muddle three slices of cucumber in the shaker with the other ingredients.
• ½ ounce simple syrup
• 2 ounces cucumber vodka
• ¾ ounce fresh lime juice
Put all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake then strain into a coupe over a flower ice-ball. The garnish is the gem of this cocktail. These edible flowers were purchased from the Dripping Springs Farmers Market. Add them to a sphere ice mold with water. A day later you will have a flower bomb sure to impress.
