CY-FAIR, CYPRESS RANCH FINISH FIRST, SECOND AT PRESTIGIOUS MADRIGAL CHOIR FESTIVAL Cy-Fair High School’s Cy-Fair Singers won first place out of 38 competing ensembles and were named the 2020 honor choir at the prestigious Madrigal & Chamber Choir Festival, held March 2 in San Antonio. As the honor choir, the group will return to the festival in 2020, perform a 30-minute concert and present the top award to next year’s winner. The Cypress Ranch High School Chamber Choir was named the first runner-up. Chamber choirs from Cypress Creek, Cypress Woods and Langham Creek high schools earned “Performance of Distinction” awards.
CYPRESS WOODS STUDENT SURPRISED WITH KPRC SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP Cypress Woods High School senior Sebastian Aguirre was one of the Houston-area high school students selected to receive a KPRC Senior Scholarship, sponsored by Texas Mattress Makers. Sebastian was nominated by Cypress Woods college and career specialist Stephanie England.
