A couple of months ago he suffered a stress fracture on his foot, which meant he had to wear a boot and temporarily give up many of the things he enjoys doing—like attending Arizona Diamondbacks games and seeing his favorite mascot, Baxter. he was shown to an honorary locker displaying his name, complete with a commemorative bat, hat and team jersey. Andrew Burkhart was now an honorary Diamondback! Being different at school can sometimes be hard for kids. But the next week, Andrew felt even more special when he was allowed to share his experience with his classmates. It is easier than you think and more rewarding than you could ever imagine.
