Adventure Book Club Camp

8-12 YRS.

Short stories and longer picture books will be read aloud from one of three genres: fantasy, science fiction, and adventure. Join other kids for an amazing book discussion and create cool book-themed projects from the stories! Materials Fee: $4. Instructor: Jenn Castro

Reading & Writing Poetry Camp

8-12 YRS.

Each day we will read funny, whimsical, lyrical, rhyme-filled poems. You will then learn about varying styles of poetry and get a chance to write your own poems! At the final class, you may present your creations with family and friends. Materials Fee: $4.

Write Your Own Children’s

Picture Book Camp

4-7 YRS.

Beautiful smiles, your own princess dress, ballet slippers are all you need to feel like a princess! We’ll make props, you’ll receive your princess accessories skirt, and we’ll dance to different princess themes every day! Come discover with new friends the joys of writing, dancing, arts/ crafts, cooking, gardening, photography, and journal writing. Glam Camp

Come explore and discover the structure of the children’s picture book, development of characters, setting, story problems, and resolutions. Learn about pacing, pagination, layout, story boarding, and other components of creating a kid’s picture book as you write your own story. Materials Fee: $4. Instructor: Jenn Castro

Kid’s Writer’s Critique Camp

10-14 YRS.

Join other kids your age where you will work each day to revise a previously written story. You will have a chance to share your story and receive in-depth feedback and also learn how to offer critique. On the final day you may share your revised story with family and friends. Join us for a fun-filled week doing make-overs and fabulous dressups! Glam-up and glitter a T-shirt, make your own organic lip gloss, have your hair, nails, makeup, and more done. We’ll have our own little fashion show and add dance to the fun. All the while learning that what’s on the inside counts most... don’t miss it! Materials Fee: $45. Adventures in Writing Camp teaches students writing skills, then gives them opportunities to apply their new skills through the creation of their own e-books (elementary) and blogging (middle school)! Drawing from music, technology, art and theater, AIW Camp inspires reluctant writers and delights those that already have “the bug.”
