TSS Survey In January, the Army began its annual Tenant Satisfaction Survey (TSS) to gather feedback about living in privatized military housing. The survey is an excellent opportunity to share your feedback on what you love about your community and provide information on what we can do to improve your experience with housing. These surveys drive change and set the goals for the coming years.

Current LMH families should have received an online survey link from CEL & Associates, an independent thirdparty group that conducts the survey on behalf of the Department of Defense. If you have not received the survey, please email ArmyHousingSurvey@celassociates.com.

Little Free Libraries Calling all readers!

Here at Liberty Military Housing, we believe book access can change lives. More books mean more reading, and reading is incredibly beneficial for everyone.

Liberty’s Little Libraries is a new community amenity designed to help increase you and your family’s exposure to books. Reduce stress, boost creativity, and sharpen comprehension skills, all from reading a book.

When it comes to the benefits of reading, statistics show a high correlation to mental and emotional health.

Take a book, share a book!

• Libraries are open seven days a week, 24-hours a day.

• Visit your neighborhood library and select the books you and your family want to read.

• Read them!

• Return the books to the library and select new titles.

Take the Challenge LMH is excited to invite you and your family to participate in a screen-free activity challenge, brought to you through our partnership with the Take the Challenge Now Foundation.

During the ten-day challenge, we take a mental health break from screens and focus on other activities that can be more rewarding, like spending quality time with loved ones, finding a good book, or engaging in physical activities.

Take the Challenge runs from Monday, April 25 through Monday, May 4.

Use this challenge to learn new skills, establish healthy routines and earn Community Rewards points simultaneously!

Join us for a virtual seminar on April 21 to hear from a panel of experts on the importance of limiting screen time. Then pledge to go screen-free and complete activities together as a family.

Snow and Ice Management Plans The winter season is upon us, which means snow and ice for many in the JBLM footprint. Here at LMH, we take resident safety very seriously and work closely with our partners to ensure that each road, walkway, and curb is treated appropriately.

Energy Use - Washers and Dryers Laundry is a fact of life. However, it uses a lot of natural resources to get your family’s clothes clean and dry. Americans used an average of 10 billion kilowatt-hours washing laundry in 2020 and 60 billion kilowatthours drying clothes.

In fact, around 10 percent of a home’s total electricity goes to using these appliances. So how can you be mindful of the amount of energy your washer and dryer use? That’s easy - with just a few minor tweaks.

Opt to wash in cold water when you can. Most laundry detergents work just as well in cold water as in hot water.

Remember that hot water is necessary for tackling sheets and towels if a family member is sick.

Clean the lint screen before drying each load. Cleaning the lint screen improves air circulation, which reduces the amount of energy your dryer needs to work.

Dry similar items together. Don’t mix heavy cotton and lightweight fabrics since the dryer will sense the heaviest material and run accordingly. For example, wash sheets with sheets and clothes with clothes.

Use automatic drying cycles. Timed drying might sound like a good idea, but it actually causes your dryer to work longer. Auto cycles use moisture sensors to determine when laundry to dry.

These small tweaks can cut down on energy usage and reduce your family’s carbon footprint, helping you be a better steward of the environment and save energy in the process.

PARKING Lawn repairs can be very costly, so make sure to park on the street to prevent being charged for damages as a result of parking on the lawn.

We understand that some neighborhoods have limited parking, but parking on the lawn is a violation of the community policies.

Permission to Enter (PTE) gives our service technicians permission to enter your home if you can’t be there to greet them yourself. PTE makes it easy to streamline your life and your busy schedule.

When you provide our team with PTE, we can respond to your requests more quickly, which helps resolve your issue faster. Plus, you won’t have to worry about rearranging your schedule to accommodate our team.

Currently, our Liberty At Your Service Resident Portal and app both default to “Yes,” giving our team authorization to enter your home to complete your service request even if you’re there. If you would like to change this default setting, please visit your resident profile.

NEAT Coming to Your Neighborhood Soon The Neighborhood Engagement & Advisory Teams (NEAT) are Liberty Military Housing employees paired up with Army and Air Force leadership for the purpose of getting out into our 22 neighborhoods to meet with residents, address compliance issues and help address any concerns. Soon you will see NEAT personnel out in your neighborhood! We’re excited to meet you and listen to how we can improve.
