Happy New Year to all of our Family Housing Residents! We hope everyone had a memorable and safe holiday season. Lets reflect on our 2023 accomplishments: We hosted 57 events with a collective turn out of over 5,938 residents.

We partnered with your neighborhood mayors and worked together to ensure the correct information and communication went out to our residents.

We continued major renovations in 2 large neighborhoods (New Hillside & Davis Hill) We installed pet stations at every neighborhood park.

Launched our new bulk drop off program, removing 94,420 pounds of trash from our neighborhoods.

As we enter 2024, take some time to for self reflection, commit to self improvements, and a challenging new years resolution. We at Liberty Military Housing will continue to make our residents a priority by providing a quality home environment, monthly resident events, and a successful partnership with our mayors and government partners. And just like the saying goes, this is a new year, new you, and new me!

Do you have a needed repair, a suggestion, or a concern? LMH is committed to enriching the lives of military families through providing homes and vibrant communities. Your feedback is an important piece in helping us accomplish this goal, and we want to ensure we provide you with an avenue to initially address your needed repair, suggestion, or concern and the process to escalate it, should that be necessary. Below is an outline of our easy Three-Step process for concerns and opportunities for feedback.

Move-Out Information Community Reminder What to expect during the move-out process.

When you submit your Notice to Vacate form, you’ll be contacted by our district team to schedule a pre-inspection, during which a Liberty team member will walk with you through your home and discuss the condition. We’ll inform you of any items that need to be repaired or addressed. You will receive an estimate of the charges to repair any damaged items. We will schedule your final move-out inspection and communicate (if applicable) any final charges.

What can I get charged for at move-out?

Move-out charges vary based on the condition of your home at the time of move-out. We strive to make this part of the move-out process as transparent as possible. A copy of your community’s move-out charge sheet will be provided by your district office, along with a list of tips to help make the inspection, as successful as possible.

Quarterly Mayor's Meeting

Last month, we had the privilege of hosting our quarterly Mayor's Meeting, where we engaged in discussions regarding upcoming events, policy updates and pressing matters in their respective communities.

Your feedback is essential in helping us achieve our goals to provide military families with exemplary service and a quality home environment. LeMay Holiday Trash Service Schedule New Years Eve - December 31st LeMay offices will be open, and drivers will run on their normal schedule.

New Years Day - January 1st LeMay offices will be closed, and drivers will not run their normal schedule. LeMay offices will re-open and service will resume on Tuesday, January 2nd. All trash service pick-ups will be delayed by one day.

Please ensure that all trash and recycling cans are at the curb the night prior or before 6am on day of service.

FREE Christmas Tree Pick-Up January 8th-12th Looking to get rid of your tree after Christmas?

Put it out on your curb next to your cans on your scheduled service pick up day January 8th-12th and LeMay will pick it up and dispose of it for FREE. Must be a natural real tree. Must be no bigger than 4 feet or must be cut down to 4 feet sections.

Removal all tensile, decorations, tree stands and plastic bags.

Holiday Decor Removal Reminder Holiday decorations must be removed by January 10th.

Holiday decorations consist of outdoor lights, figurines, outdoor Holiday trees and all related type blow up characters.

LMH SNOW & ICE REMOVAL PLAN In the event of storms, where ice or snow accumulations are imminent, Liberty staff will be on standby to respond if in fact the weather does affect the roads on JBLM. While in standby mode, we will monitor local news as well as the Joint Base Hotlines. Staff will additionally respond to reports directly provided from JBLM Military Police.

We will have a phased plan that will address the conditions focused on the most critical areas with hills and major intersections. We will have equipment in the form of two sanding/plow trucks and personnel available to maintain continual usage as needed.

In order to focus our attention on the most critical areas, LMH will not be plowing and/or sanding any side streets. While it is the resident’s responsibility to perform snow/ice removal at their individual homes, we will do our best to provide for the safe passage of our residents in and out of the JBLM neighborhoods. We will respond to resident concerns as resources allow. We will also support the overall response of the installation by helping in areas we are traveling through when possible.

If consistent snow accumulations continue, we will repeat the same phased approach until the snowfall has diminished. -Stay warm!

Cold Weather Preparedness Winter is here and the weather service will predict low temperatures during this winter season. To help prevent frozen pipes and the potential flooding of your home, we ask that you please take the following steps whenever the temperatures are forecasted to dip to an unusually low level: Open all water faucets in your home to allow a very thin trickle of water to flow through the water lines. Allow the trickle of water to continue to flow throughout the night. (If you are leaving town, please do not leave the water on.)

If leaving town for more than 48 hours, please notify your district office so they may periodically check for frozen pipes.

Leave all cabinets doors underneath sinks open so the pipes will be ventilated with the warm air in your home.

Notify your district office if you turn on a faucet and no water comes out.

This may be an indication of frozen pipes.

Leave the heat turned to "Auto" and thermostat set to no less than 60 degrees, especially if you will be gone for more than 24 hrs.

A Word From Our West Army Partners Keeping Indoor Air Clean

By Kiley Westergaard, DPW Environmental Division, AGEISS During the chilly months, it’s easy to stay cozy and warm indoors, but being indoors more means it’s even more important to keep the air clean. Indoor air can contain a variety of pollutants, such as pet dander, carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and mold. Ventilation, cleaning, controlling moisture, and checking alarms are all ways to improve or understand indoor air quality.

Ventilation is one of the easiest ways to improve indoor air quality. If weather permits, open doors and windows, and always run kitchen and bathroom exhaust fans when cooking or showering. Also, change air filters often, and if needed, purchase a portable air cleaner.

Decluttering, dusting with a damp rag, and vacuuming keeps allergens, pests, and pollutants away. Consider minimizing the use of strong chemical cleaners. Try a mild soap and water instead, and never mix chemicals. Also, remember to ventilate when cleaning.

Brush and bathe furry pets often, as dander, pet hair, and dirt all contributors to indoor air pollution.

Keeping indoor moisture under control is important to prevent mold.

Fix water leaks right away and keep humidity levels between 30 and 50%.

If necessary, use a dehumidifier.

Check carbon monoxide and smoke alarms once a month to ensure they are in good working condition. Test for radon and lead especially if your home was built before 1978.

Following these tips helps minimize the negative effects of indoor air quality. Keep indoor air pollutant-free for a relaxing and clean indoor space.
