Jells Park -
Experience the Dandenong Creek Trail on foot or by bike as it makes its way through a variety of bush landscapes and parklands. The Yabbie Hill Playscape & two other playgrounds in the park provide an adventure wonderland for children. Fish from the jetties on the western side of the lake for redfin or short–finned eels and yabbies.
PLAYGROUNDS Eltham Lower Park - Eltham
Double flying fox, liberty swing, butterfly climbing wall, spinning carousel and miniature railway.The miniature railway, which winds its way across bridges and through tunnels, is considered one of the best in the country. It operates 11am-5pm on Sundays
Hays Paddock - Kew East
The best playground going round with super-size swings, huge butterflies, toadstools and a giant see-saw. There’s a wetlands area with a bird hide and a learner’s bike circuit.
Royal Botanic Gardens -
The Botanic Gardens are simply stunning and a joy to explore. Kids will love the Ornamental Lake where you can take them on a punt cruise around the bays and islands. Highlights include the stunning Guilfoyle’s Volcano and the Tropical Glasshouse. However, what kids will dig most will be the Ian Potter Foundation’s Children’s Garden. The water features in particular are great in summer. Entry is free!
