The stunning natural landscape of Les Chapieux and the Vallée des Glaciers is a crossroads between the Beaufortain, the Mont Blanc range and the Tarentaise and is a strategically important area between France and Italy. Located on the legendary “Tour du Mont Blanc”, a route surrounded by breathtaking scenery amongst protected alpine pastures and ancient glaciers, beginners as well as advanced walkers can experience this magnificent setting. In order to safeguard this protected site, vehicle access is prohibited (Les Chapieux – Ville des Glaciers). Road closed in July and August, busses are provided during these months. Timetables for low and peak season are available from all Tourist offices and on our website.
