HornyBirds A game by Les Inkwell and Aksel Flack Horny Birds is a game in the poker family (Bacillo Ludum) for 2 to 10 players. Background: It's twilight in the woods. You're a male bird. You are horny. You must sing to attract female birds. The male bird that sings the most beautiful song get to copulate with the most female birds. The male bird that has copulated with the most female birds at the end of the season, wins. Stanza cards: The cards you play with represents parts of the songs that male birds sing, and is therefore called Stanza cards. Stanza cards consist of three elements: Numbers (notes), symbols and colors. Numbers The numbers represent the melody, and appears on the card using notes. There are six different notes. They are actually possible to sing if you know notes. Symbols The symbols represent the theme of the song. There are five symbols: - Heart: The male birds sing about how good lovers they are ... - Feathers: The male birds sing about how handsome they are ... - Nest: The male birds sing about how good they are to build nests ... - Worm: The male birds sing about how good they are at collecting food ... - Compass Rose: The male birds sing about how good they are to navigate their way to warmer climes when winter comes ... Colors Reperesents different moods in the song. Each song has its own color. There are four colors: Red, Blue, Yellow and Green. Female bird tokens There are four types of female bird tokens: Dark red (10), red (36), pink (12) and green (12). Dark red = 3 points Red = 2 points Pink = 1 points Green = -3 points Preparation before the game: - The 120 stanza cards are shuffled. - The pieces are put in a bag or purse. - A 20-sided dice is placed on the game table. You can also use three six-sided dice. The first round of the game: He who has the most experience with the game, or the one who demonstrably have the most knowledge of ornithology, shuffles the 120 stanzas cards. The same player throws the 20-sided dice, draws that many tokens from the purse and places them face up on the middle of the table. This is the pot for this round.
