Reproduction Fees (excluding VAT) 2025-2026

In common with other museums, galleries and libraries, Leighton House and Sambourne House possess the right to authorise the photographic reproduction of paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, objects etc. In return for the grant of reproduction rights, the fees listed are charged. The fees are intended as guidelines and may be subject to alteration at the discretion of the museum.

When permission is sought to reproduce material from Leighton House and Sambourne House, an Applicationformforthereproductionofimagesmust be completed.

A 25% discount is available for charities, academic publications and publications with low print runs.

Merchandise - please contact us with details of the product on which you want to use the image, including planned production run size.

The reproduction fees for the use of images of the council’s collections in exhibitions and displays by other accredited museums and galleries will be waived where entry to the venue and exhibition is free of charge

Permissions to reproduce material are subject to the following conditions:

1. The material must not be used for any purpose than that indicated by the applicant.

2. Payment must be received before we send through high resolution images.

3. Where copyright is not held by RBKC museums, permission for reproduction must be obtained from the copyright holder before the material is used.

4. All material must be credited either: Leighton House, Royal Borough Kensington and Chelsea; or Sambourne House, Royal Borough Kensington and Chelsea.

5. A copy, proof or pull of any publication or product in which the images are reproduced should be sent to the museum.

ii. If a request to reproduce an image is made and subsequently the image is not used, the applicant is still liable for payment, unless notification of any amendment to the application is received prior to an invoice being raised.

iv. If requested, a complimentary copy of any published work or product will be sent to museum on publication
