KUBACHI TILES FOR KIDS!

Using Water Mediums!

Do you know how to use watercolour paints, watercolour pencils and ink? This section will demonstrate how to use all the materials and you can

Using 1 watercolour pencil, colour on your page with the pencil so that the paper is nicely covered. Take your brush and add some water to the brush, You can now wash it over the pencil and get a watercolour effect Using 2 different watercolour pencils, colour one as the first layer and then colour the second on top. Use the wet brush and watch the 2 colours mix and create a new colour!

then use for your projects!

Watercolour from the tube and coloured inks are similar to work with. If you want a lighter colour, add more water to the paint, if you want a darker colour use less water.

Working with the Miniature Figures

You will need tracing paper, the worksheets of the lady or gentleman figure, a pencil and paper.

You can also work on the paper the figure has been printed on

Cut a piece of tracing paper and stick it on top of the figure, so that the tracing paper doesn't move. Then using your pencil, draw over the figure. You will then flip the tracing paper over , stick it reversed onto the watercolour paper and trace again.

OUTLINING AND PAINTING!

Outline the figure with the black fineliner. Take your time! This step makes the figure look extra special!

Using the watercolour pencils (or any of the wet mediums you have) apply a thin layer of flat colour on you figure. Before the next step make sure that it is dry!

Adding Details!

Using the pattern palette from the hand outs, choose the patterns you would like to add to the garments and fabrics of you figure. Slowly building each pattern. Repeat this with the female figure also! Be as creative as you can be. Make a theme that connects you figures. You could choose the 4 seasons, weather, 4 colours, 4 elements etc
