We have set out details of our work, our achievements and challenges to work with others to get equal rights, through song and advocacy, with equal opportunities for all.

Your board is committed to serve and support you and all LGBTQ+ queer people across Europe during these challenging times. As the unjust war in Ukraine continues, the needs of queer refugees fleeing war, persecutions and oppression are ever present. Our human rights are under attack in many countries across the world, so we need to be vigilant, singing to protect and promote equal rights for all. Thank you for your support for the two fundraising campaigns set up by Munich Kiev Queer. Showing solidarity through song for equality to sing out with pride and hope
Our plan for the next 20 years is ambitious and bold and if you want to join Team LEGATO the new group of volunteers working with a Board member on specific projects focused on the first 5 years, please get in touch now. Governance / Finance - accountability and transparency
Following the success of our “Spring Affair” we premiered “Winter MelodyOur Virtual Choir Celebration of the Season”. These virtual concerts are a great showcase of your performances and musical contributions and look out for further concerts coming up. We are always looking for exciting and creative ways to engage and showcase what you do, building our audiences and sharing
We continue to promote the LEGATO Choirs’ support policy to enable access to the Festival for all. To benefit from the life-changing experience of our festivals, validating us, enjoying making music and having fun together. Creating unforgettable unique memories and experiences that touch many hearts, change minds and challenge perceptions through the power of singing, music and performance.

Various Voices Team - creating singing opportunities for our members
Dominik K. Jakob looks after your money to offer seed loans for Various Voices Festivals, fund our services to you and provide information to the board and support you to support your organisation through your subscriptions. Preparing accounts and arranging an audit as well as dealing with the regulatory authorities to make sure we remain legal and compliant.

We aim to connect directly to singers as well as choirs by offering individual newsletter sign-up.

Dominik is a founder member of Legato and is taking a break from the board. But continuing to support our work as a Team Legato volunteer. Thank you Dominik for your vision, hard work and tenacity supporting LEGATO, creating the solid foundation to enable us to grow and develop as an organisation.
We are now working on our Fundraising Strategy and at our Board retreat weekend in Bruchsal in Germany, the Board will work on our plan to bring a queer safe space choir to every city or town in Europe over the next 20 years.
We have been building our records with website registration of choirs and data collection during annual registration when we are asking you to check your contact details, so official invites and voting authorisation can be sent to your current live choir email address.

Martin Kaufman, Principal of Martin Kaufman Philanthropy, an experienced fundraising consultant, is the Fundraising Board Advisor. Together we have developed the case for support for LEGATO - “Singing for Equality”. This working document explains why we all deserve funding and what we will do with those funds. The result will be the “Singing for Equality” Fundraising Campaign.
