Founded: November 2018 Description of organization: We are a student organization that brings the musical talent of youth to entertain seniors in our community. Our goal is to use music to nurture the mind, inspire humanity, and create opportunities for community service and social engagement. To fulfill our mission, we organize events at assisted living homes where young musicians entertain senior residents

and we also provide them with home-baked treats.

What are you most proud of? We have successfully organized an event each month this past year, at a variety of senior homes in the region, and recruited over 50 student volunteers from local elementary, middle and high schools. We have been invited to return to all of the homes and are looking to expand both our volunteer community as well as our list of senior homes. Connecting students with seniors and inspiring youth in our community to use their musical talent to serve others has been very rewarding.

Our biggest challenge involved recruiting sufficient volunteers. Most are minors and have to be driven by their parents, sometimes over long distances. We employed several strategies to overcome this issue.

We started a school-based club at Colgan High School which is home to an amazing Fine and Performing Arts program. We advertised our organization using social media and to other student networks such as National Junior Honor Society.

Finally, we started social events for our volunteers to create a sense of team-building and camaraderie. Our efforts have successfully expanded our base of reliable volunteers for all recent events.

What is your biggest challenge?
