ESSAY. Explain in 100 words or less why you want to run for the position and the key points of your platform. I would like to run for the position because I know this is where I can give the greatest impact. Having seen all that has happened in the past two years, I saw three major points where Leaps can improve on. First is the implementation of the Finance Black Book. This will ensure that all possible finance head will have a clear vision on the processes that needs to be done. Second are the Bi-semestral financial reports. This is to increase transparency in the financials of the organization. Last is the implementation of project hearings per project, which will be conducted a month before project implementation to ensure accountability.

LGU OF PHYSICISTS III. PLATFORM MAIN POINT 1: Sustainability through Documented Financial Processes The Ateneo League of Physicists has never had documented financial processes. This has led to the unfamiliarity of processes by project core team members who are in charge of the particular projects financial details. In an effort to correct this FINANCE BLACK BOOK will be implemented. It will include all relevant financial processes and forms that a finance head will need. . Indirectly, this effort will also aid in transition through the documentation of key processes and decentralization of the finance responsibilities. MAIN POINT 2: Transparency Through Regular Financial reports No efforts have been made to address the transparency of the financials of the organization. To address this, bi-semestral financial reports shall be sent out detailing all financial expenditures of the organization. Each LeaPs member has the right and privilege to know how the officers are managing the organization’s finances. This will also open avenues for dialogue between LeaPs members and officers with regard to the organization’s financials. MAIN POINT 3: Accountability Through Project Hearings In an effort to supplement fiscal accountability within the executive board, revitalized internal financial processes must be implemented. Central to this is the implementation of budget hearings per project, which will be held during regular LeaPs EB Meetings. This will empower project team members by adding to their ownership of the project and at the same time, all budgets and financials can be assessed by the officers.
