Mimarch partnered with Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership, a Washington, D.C., based architecture and planning firm and Parsons Brinkerho of Bal more for designing and planning of the Silver Spring Transit Center. Project included a Transit facility for Metro sta on, buses, retail and three hi-rise buildings with six public levels.

SILVER SPRING TRANSIT CENTER, Silver Spring, MD

This $200 million development will also include 200,000 to 250,000 SF of oďŹƒce spaces, a hotel with approximately 700 rooms, residen al and retail space which will be built above and around a transit hub that will bring together several modes of transporta on - Metro buses and subway and Marc trains. Commercial and residen al structures will be built in ers over and around the transit center, and retail space which will be located on the lower levels of those buildings along with a restaurant.

The Corridor Ci es Transit way (CCT) is a visioning transit study of 14-16 miles in Montgomery County,MD which connects Shady Grove Metro Sta on to German town along the I-270 Corridor. This Mul Model Corridor Study consist of 13 sta ons and parallel bike path along the alignment. In this project, both Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) op ons have been studied.

Mimarch provided architectural, engineering and environmental graphic design services to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) for the rehabilita on of Orange Blue Line Metro Rail System - 16 Sta ons (Stadium Armory to Na onal Airport).

Services included upgrades to the suspended ceiling le system, renova ons and upgrades to several kiosks, and wayfinding and signage rehabilita on.

Major Tasks included:

All design work and construc on for the upgrade of the suspended ceiling le system by replacing the exis ng ceiling with a metal ceiling panel system that provided completely accessible ceilings in Subway sta ons, upgrade of the rail pla orm edges to provide ADA compa ble detectable warnings along the full length of the public area of the pla orm, upgrade and enlargement of the current kiosks at the underground sta ons on the mezzanine level, and the rehabilita on of signs for 16 sta ons along the Orange/ Blue line.

The project consisted of providing architectural design services for a 215,000 SF pre-engineered industrial facility, from Schema c Design to Design Development and Construc on Documents. The project met ADA, AT/FP, and life safety requirements.

Maryland port Cargo Shed Maryland Port Authority

Mimarch provided architectural and engineering design, and consul ng services including engineering studies, assessment of exis ng condi ons, feasibility studies, reports, design and planning, architecture, MEP, civil, and structural design services. Services included field inves ga on and survey on the site, produced extensive details of numerous doors, stairs and docks in order to accommodate the sloping floors, Cost es mates and specifica ons.

Mimarch as architect of the record provided architectural design services for the conversion of a warehouse into a Cruise Ship Terminal located in Bal more Maryland as a Joint Venture with STV-NY. Scope of services included construc on documents, and specifica ons, and coordina on with the owner/users and consultants.

This project involved a mul -faceted hands-on coordina on with the Maryland Port Administra on and the Bal more oďŹƒce of STV as well as their New York oďŹƒces and numerous other consultants. Numerous designs were prepared to sa sfy Maryland Port Administra on opera ons, marke ng department and cruise lines.

Upon comple on of schema c design, numerous coordina on mee ngs were held with the fire safety consultant and fire Marshall to retrofit the sprinkler Design. Since the renovated space was designed for the terminal interiors, very moderate finishes were used without losing the required ambience of space.

Traffic Response and Information Center, Forestville, MD Department of Transportation Complex

Mimarch provided architectural, engineering and construc on services for an approximately 5,000 SF state-of-the-art high-tech transporta on management and communica on facility and is equipped with high tech state-of-the-art computers and large 12 . x 12 . video screens. Mimarch provided full architectural and engineering services from feasibility study, programming, preliminary design through construc on documents and construc on administra on. The TRIP Center facility houses all central control elements of various transporta on management systems, including DPW&T Traffic Signal System, GIS Data Center, the County Snow Command Center, Closed Circuit Television, and the OHM Dispatch Center.

A new 50,000 square foot Consolidated Car Rental Facility and one of the first in the U.S. to u lize an innova ve “mall” approach to car rental. Mimarch assisted Michael Baker in developing the design and produc on of the construc on documents. CUSTOMER SERVICE BUILDING, LINTHICUM, MARYLAND Baltimore/ Washington International Airport

MIMARCH/ Baker planned and designed The Customer Service Building is a 50,000 SF, sized for 2020, with central atrium for one stop shu le. Rental car counters distributed “radially” around the lobby in a mini-mall” concept for parity. The project creates a mul -agency Customer Service Building that affords parity between the respec ve agencies with regard to customer service and convenience. The primary design concept building efficiency and customer-friendliness; efficiency of travel and maximizing comfort from the passenger loading zones to the customer agency service space to the ready/return.

MULTI-PURPOSE AUDITORIUM BUILDING #64 Mimarch as architect of record provided Architecture and interior design services for the new $2.75M FLETC - Mul -purpose Auditorium. Scope of services contract included, review and evalua on of previously prepared Design Development Documents and redesign as necessary. Mimarch found and corrected problems with the original design.

ANIMAL SERVICES FACILITY, Prince George’s County, MD.

CIVIC, COMMUNITY PRIDE This building includes: a spay/neuter clinic, receiving area, kennel area, and administra ve area complete with large community room that will be used for conduc ng educa onal programs and public mee ngs. The design involved features such as energy conserva on, maximum use of natural light. We were involved in all phases of design which included separate cat and dog facili es with separate admission, mul ple adop on rooms, laboratories, surgery rooms, indoor and outdoor exercise areas as well as ki en and puppy nurseries. Efforts were made to separate cats and dogs by sound and sight to reduce stress. Key components of design: Security, Safety, Acous cs (overall noise), Drainage, Germ and Disease Control, Ven la on systems, and Plumbing were taken into highest considera on.

For this new terminal on top of a mountain, we developed complementary sign types for the roadway, parking garage and the terminal, using simple bands of warm gray. The roadway signs used a dark gray background with a lighter gray stripe, while the garage signs used a light gray background with a darker gray stripe. The terminal direc onal signs were the darker gray with a aluminum support panel that appears to be a lighter stripe. Using Futura for the typeface gives the airport a clean yet dynamic character.

The iden ty for the Ticke ng and the Baggage Claim entries was a photographic image printed on perforated vinyl and applied to the glass transom over the doors.

Mimarch is currently working with the MTA Maryland to develop a family of new bus stop signs. The current system is oriented mostly to the vehicular traďŹƒc and not to the passengers. Mimarch is developing high image signs to be used downtown to catch a en on. Smaller, simpler, less expensive signs will be added to the family of signs for less complex situa ons.

Metro Orange/ Blue Line Sign Rehabilitation, Washington, D.C. WMATA

Mimarch is currently is providing wayfinding and signage services to WMATA for rehabilita on of signs at the Orange/Blue Line.

WMATA has found that passengers find the direc onal messages on the iconic pylon signs to be confusing. New vault wall signs are being installed that include end des na on names and sta on ahead lists to aid in wayfinding. Other signs are being revised using updated Sign Design Guidelines. MAI developed sign demoli on plans and new sign installa on. This contract is revising signs for 16 sta ons along the Orange/Blue METRO Line.

TRANSIT ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT MIMAR ARCHITECTS, INC

Transit - Oriented Developments require an approach to site planning that will create mul ple modes of transporta on. Mimarch is able to deliver more transporta on-efficient and pedestrian-friendly (TOD) developments through though ul and proac ve planning.

GATEWAY ARTS DISTRICT, Prince George’s County, MD REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

The project was developed as a presenta on/ini a ve to encourage redevelopment of the en re Gateway Arts District and for Prince George’s County officials to receive approval and funding. As a result of our successful design and planning efforts being so well received, The Redevelopment Authority of Prince George’s County have posted our concept renderings in the main entrance of their headquarter offices and added the web-based presenta on to their official website.

3D MODELING/BIM MIMAR ARCHITECTS, INC

Improving and innovaĆ&#x;ng design through thorough analysis of a building's life-cycle.

Mimarch recognizes the importance and value that BIM and 3D Modeling brings, not only in the short-term to facilitate and improve the design process, but also in the long-term where the model can be used throughout the full life cycle of the project.
