Today marks the first year that The Life Letter has been in circulation. It’s amazing at how much I have learned thus far. I have tried and failed at so many things in pursuit of sharing my writing with the world, or to anyone willing to take notice. Admittedly, I have quit on multiple occasions. I have lost entire documents, and had to start from scratch within a weeks notice. I have designed masterpieces, and changed my entire mind, undoing all the work for the day. I have cried with frustration because no one was subscribing. I have even spotted errors in my content, (don’t go looking for them)!.

I am so proud of how gritty I have become in my pursuit of things. I am so blessed to have more endurance under my belt. I am honored to write to you every month, and I am dreaming even bigger going into year 2.

Now that I have proven to myself that I can keep up, I plan to expand, build, and stretch even more. So this edition goes out to all the people who have found out how tough they are. They figured out a way to be consistent. They have tapped into a formula for success. They are in pursuit of more. This is for every dream that you have the confidence to go after. This is for every goal that is in progress. This if for every soul bursting at the chance to try something it. Dream bigger this time around. Don’t limit yourself or your God. He is the God of creation. Since you belong to Him, you have it in you to do it. The new thing is coming and I can’t wait to see it unfold.

Myth: Quitters never win. Fact: It takes a mature and aware individual to recognize when it is time to give up something in exchange for something better.
Myth: Nice guys finish last. Fact: Nice guys do have to wait longer, but they always get the one they truly desire and deserve. Myth: All Black women are strong, masculine, and hyperindependent. Fact: We are delicate, soft, feminine, and beautiful. We deserve to be provided for, protected, and loved properly. We should not have to do it all. However, history has proven we can. Myth: The village no longer exists for this generation. Fact: You have the unique responsibility to piece together a healthy village to aid in the development of your child. The village sometimes has to be modified, but it’s still very much a village. Myth: All the good men are gay, married, in jail, or dead. Fact: Ladies have you considered you haven’t been tasked with finding a husband? Improve yourself and prepare for your blessing. The right man will indeed find you.
