Figuring out who is best at selling Lawrence to tourists and visitors may become a hot topic at City Hall. The leader of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce has confirmed that he is lobbying to have the Lawrence convention and visitors bureau become part of the chamber’s organization, rather than a previously proposed plan where the group would become an official department of Lawrence City Hall. “We feel Lawrence could lose a competitive edge if it becomes a part of City Hall,” Larry McElwain, president and CEO of the chamber said. “We don’t feel Lawrence is as competitive for conferences and workshops — especially during that
