The Linda Reimond Preschool and Kelly Galloway Kindergarten Exhibition features works from preschool and kindergarten students at the Lawrence Arts Center. Illuminating the roots of imagination through fearless creativity, this exhibit offers a rare and stirring glimpse of the origin of ingenuity and inspiration. Arts Center early childhood students have the opportunity to work with professional artists, actors, dancers, and musicians, attend performances, and create in the studios. Creative confidence and innovative skills are evident in the work of these very young students.
APRIL 25 - MAY 8
The annual USD 497 public schools show features works selected by art teachers of K-12 students from across Lawrence. Showcasing a cross-section of the diverse, excellent visual arts programming in Lawrence Public Schools, this exhibit spotlights the value of arts learning and the importance of fine arts programs in public education.
When viewed after the Lawrence Arts Center arts-based early childhood art exhibition, the show provides a fascinating look at the trajectory of artistic development and creative growth happening every day in Lawrence.
Final Friday Reception: Friday, April 25, 4-8 pm
Vanguard Awards Presentation: Friday, April 25, 6:30-7:30 pm

Curated by the Lawrence Arts Center’s teen curatorial collective, Hang12, Transferred Inspiration: Boundless highlights artwork created by Lawrence High School and Free State High School student artists in workshops inspired by the creative practices of Arts Center artists-inresidence Anthony Corraro and Gabriel Poucher. After working alongside the residents at the Arts Center, students developed original works at school utilizing their newly learned skills and techniques.
Final Friday: May 30, June 27, July 25, 6-9 pm
Borrowing from vintage advertising, carnival aesthetic, and car/tattoo culture, Jeff Eaton, AKA Pride of Gumbo, employs traditional sign painting techniques to make bold and colorful works, while keeping it lighthearted and off beat. Like the hotdog, this exhibition is a combination of parts and pieces that might be overlooked or discarded on their own, but when refined, and exquisitely combined into the sweet casing the viewer’s experience is nothing short of a fulfilling delight.
Chicago-based artist Vesna Jovanovic began this new body of work in response to stories of French medieval marketplace carnivals, where an emphasis on the human body and grotesque bodily humor—in contrast to the mind, or soul—brought laughter, understanding, and a sense of connection among people who otherwise seemed to have nothing in common. Jovanovic takes us on a fleshy journey into a world of reversal rituals, street performances, butt plugs, sparklers, and candy.
MAY 30 - JUNE 21
ANTHONY CORRARO
Final Friday: May 30, 6-9 pm
Printmaking Resident | Metamorphic Apertures
With the passage of time, the intersections of memory, photography, and the natural world are in a constant state of flux. Anthony’s work featuring screen-printed photographs and illustrations crafted from loose dust, delves into these shifting boundaries and our relationship to them. Inspired by the transformative cycles of the natural world, the artist uses ephemeral materials to capture moments of change and evoke the transformative nature of both life and memory.
INSIGHT Art Talk | June 12, 7 pm
Final Friday: June 27, July 25, 6-9 pm
GABRIEL JOHN POUCHER
Ceramics Resident | Permeable & Boundariless
In 2020, the total mass of all human-made objects outweighed the total mass of all life on Earth. What do we consider “natural” in a world with more synthetic material than organic life? Permeable & Boundariless looks through the lens of queer ecology and ceramic materiality to examine geology, microbiology, and the definition of “nature” in the Anthropocene.

ELIZABETH SULLIVAN
In a world ruled by fickle Gods and dangerous beasts, heroes are made— or lost forever.
Theseus and Icarus are no strangers to danger. Born to flawed parents and thrown into a world full of impossible challenges, they must fight to survive. From treacherous journeys to Athens to the deadly labyrinth of the Minotaur, their fates are tangled in romance, trickery, . the ever-meddling hands of the Gods.
But in a land where monsters lurk in the shadows and escape is never certain, who will rise, and who will fall?
Told in a thrilling open theatre style, Escape from the Labyrinth is a bold reimagining of Greek mythology, where the world itself comes to life—heroes, villains, creatures, and even the very land they walk on.
