Perry I lost a friend this year to colon with the cancer, and she had two small Schrack children. And my oldest friend family. Chad Schrack’s wife is a survivor of the disease. He asked me to help him, so I’m helping. It’s about raising awareness. I got involved with the Fight Colorectal Cancer “One Million Strong” campaign because I want people to be proactive about their health, to get information and go out there and get colonoscopies. Don’t worry about the stigma of it. Once I found out the numbers about this cancer—how detectable it is, and how lethal it is if you don’t detect it—it boggled my mind. I think if you gave people a choice of having a colonoscopy or having to have a tumor cut out of them, they would much rather have the colonoscopy. It needs to be put in those simple terms.
