Enrichment and Extension Opportunities

Enrichment and Extension Opportunities

Lauriston’s aim is for all students to be active participants in a learning environment that enables them to participate in a range of curriculum and co-curricular experiences that enrich their learning, nurtures their talents and challenges them to reach their potential At Lauriston we strive to provide a range of offerings that will encourage students to develop their interests and talents.

Therefore, enrichment is provided for all students through both the classroom setting and co- curricular activities, various school-based clubs, community service activities and leadership opportunities.

For some students, extension activities build upon the core curriculum by extending students’ learning beyond what is typically covered in the classroom. Within the classroom , extension tasks encourage students to explore concepts at a deeper level, making connections between different areas of knowledge. In addition, students may participate in external competitions or take up opportunities to participate in school activities that go beyond what is taught in the classroom.

Some co-curricular activities may require enrolment and there will be terms and conditions to participate. Parents and students are encouraged to read the Co-curricular Handbook to learn about the enrolment terms and conditions.
