THE NEW KID IN TOWN

T

acos immediately excite me and most everyone with a pulse. Street food? Fine dining? I’ll let that debate boil over to the blog-o-sphere. Wherever you eat these delicious packages of goodness is irrelevant to their deliciousness. On a recent saunter about Wayne I stumbled upon the newly opened Pipeline Taco, located in downtown at 165 E. Lancaster Avenue. I immediately fell into the “taco-trans” that a “Tacophile” as myself only can. From my first step into the door, they had me at hello. The service and vibe is definitely chill and genuinely friendly. Original surf art surrounds you (by actual surfer artists), and tunes warm over the room providing a space designed to hang. Professionals, kids, moms and friends were all looking rather delighted with the mid-day vibe of “I feel like I’m on vacation”...at lunch! The food offerings feature a curated greatest-hits of all things taco joint. But let’s not split hairs here, this isn’t just a taco joint. From a cleverly crafted list of choices such as the Pipeline fish taco, Tatonka buffalo shrimp taco, and the kale vegetarian Ono, one immediately realizes this has been thoroughly thought out. Hormone free ingredients, and working toward a local all organic menu too, the owners are dialed into what we want. Fresh flavors abound from the onset of the Haole Guacamole, straight forward and buttery fresh deliciousness, to the grilled fish taco with its delicate mango papaya were screaming freshness. Pico and fruit salsas were immaculately constructed leaving the ingredients to do all the talking - fantastic! The Kalua pork taco was deep on flavor contrasting against the sublime pineapple salsa and Korean BBQ sauce which sent me into orbit. Other additions such as perfectly seasoned quesadillas and rice bowls were delightful, all to be washed down by all natural New Hope Sodas. Watermelon soda and Italian Lime-aid? Yes please! In all honesty, I felt healthier than when I entered. Forgive the colloquialism, but I’m completely stoked.....you should be too.
