It is not uncommon to see these costs rise with tools which were not built as cloudnative. Good news is that Business Central has all the required access and security to allow you to turn off those costly and cumbersome remote access tools.

You are lucky. When the time is right, or as you see licensing or hardware refresh on the horizon, remember that none of these older tools are required when you move to Business Central.

Excellent, way to move to the cloud! It seems that you may have been on the wave of folks that moved workloads (Great Plains (GP) compute environment) from on-premise to the cloud. While that is nice, GP is likely running in a virtual server, increasing speed to access, cost, and not eliminating the costly remote access tools.

A time will come, driven by hardware failure, software license maintenance increase (as Microsoft softly nudges you to leave GP), or a cloud only strategy, you will consider the move from on-premise to cloud for you accounting tools. Just keep in mind that when you are ready, Business Central is there to help.

Get with your managed service partner or internal IT and determine where these Great Plains servers reside. While you are there, make sure that you ask about security around access, emergency cutover servers, and how the data is being backed up.
