ANNUAL REPORT
2023

WELCOME //

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

In 2023, Las Colinas embarked on a remarkable journey to commemorate its 50th Anniversary, a testament to our enduring legacy and the visionary foresight of our founder, Ben Carpenter. This landmark year was not only a celebration of our rich history but also an opportunity to showcase the vibrant community Las Colinas has become. Through a series of engaging experiences and activations, history was brought to life, allowing both long-standing residents and new members of our community to connect with the foundational stories that have shaped Las Colinas.

Our year-long anniversary celebration kicked off with a grand reunion at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas in March, gathering leaders and esteemed alumni to reminisce and celebrate the significant milestones of Las Colinas. This event set the tone for the year, unveiling our ambitious plans to honor the past while looking towards the future. The Las Colinas Mobile Trailer Experience, dubbed “history on wheels,” traveled throughout the community, providing a mobile testament to our journey. Meanwhile, the Mandalay Mile offered a self-guided historical walking tour, enriching our understanding of Las Colinas’ evolution with interactive learning opportunities.

The architectural heritage of Las Colinas, a defining characteristic of our community, was highlighted through four engaging events this past year. The return of the Carpenter Cup golf tournament paid homage to the unmatched past time Las Colinas was built from. The inaugural Las Colinas Home and Architecture Tours, allowed exclusive access to some of our most coveted gated communities and renowned architectural marvels. The anniversary year culminated with the spectacular GLOW Canalside Celebration, an event that transformed the heart of the Urban Center into a dazzling display of light, music, and art, drawing the community together for an unforgettable shared experience.

Amidst these celebrations, Las Colinas continued to grow and welcome new developments. The groundbreaking of Wells Fargo’s future regional campus and the unveiling of CHRISTUS Health’s new corporate headquarters are prime examples of our ongoing evolution. These projects, along with the announcements of new residential communities, reimagined resort and entertainment destinations and continued infrastructure investments reflect the dynamic growth and enduring appeal of our community.

As we reflect on the past year, it’s clear that our 50th Anniversary was more than just a celebration; it was a reaffirmation of Las Colinas’ legacy and a preview of the exciting future that lies ahead. Together, we have honored our history, celebrated our achievements, and laid the groundwork for continued growth and prosperity.

LAS COLINAS ASSOCIATION //

WHO WE ARE

In 1973, Ben Carpenter unveiled an innovative master plan for transforming his family’s 6,000-acre Hackberry Creek Ranch into an unparalleled urban oasis. This groundbreaking vision included custom homes, golf courses, picturesque lakes, canals, office buildings, and overhead trams. Over the next 15 years, this once serene prairie landscape evolved into the vibrant, multi-faceted community known as Las Colinas.

Fifty years later, Las Colinas has not only realized but exceeded Ben Carpenter’s original dream, distinguishing itself as a premier destination for living, working, and leisure. Throughout this transformative journey, the Las Colinas Association (LCA) has been instrumental in guiding the community’s development, committed to preserving its exceptional standard of living.

Through the support of its members, the LCA offers unparalleled services that are the cornerstone of Las Colinas’ enduring appeal. From the diligent upkeep of communal spaces like parks and waterways to the enforcement of deed restrictions and the provision of round-the-clock security patrols, these efforts have proven key to sustaining the vibrancy and allure of Las Colinas.
