“Framing is imperative for good art, and if you want your work to stand out in a gallery setting you have to go the extra mile with your framing. Personally, I enjoy using chunky frames and often use a couple of mouldings to create my desired effect. Because I frame everything myself, I not only have the ability to create a unique and eyecatching frame, but I am also able to easily swap the frame out for a customer who doesn’t have the same taste. It’s a win-win!”
Gordon also told 4walls a fantastic story about the impact a frame can have on a viewer’s perception of art. As a framer, he was once asked to frame a small 3x3 inch drawing done by a customer’s young granddaughter. Knowing that the customer was an avid art collector, Gordon suggested that they frame the drawing differently, using a 6-inch moulding. A few months later, he heard that the customer was delighted because visitors repeatedly asked which gallery the drawing was from! Gordon’s work will be exhibited at the prestigious Thompson’s Gallery in Marylebone. You can also find him on social media @gordonwilsonartist.

Whatever 2022 brings, Seb will be on it! “The more I work with my customers, the more excited I get about their businesses.”
“I love this business! I love the relationships. I love the informality of the framing world. I love the fact that I am working with many long serving colleagues. I love our new product development - and our manufacturing capability is awesome!
Seb lives in Wales with his wife Hannah, daughters Erin (7), Lila (4) and Sara (nearly one!). In his spare time, he relishes life in the country and indulging in crazy activities like zip wires!
“I found the fast-moving consumer goods’ environment quite superficial, to be honest, so I jumped at the chance to join Larson-Juhl where we are all in it for the long-term; and building relationships, trust and understanding are to the genuine advantage of all concerned.”
Seb’s patch Seb covers a very varied area – from beautiful, rural Wales to the fastpaced urban streets of Manchester. Regardless of geography, Seb is noticing some interesting trends when it comes to mouldings though: “I am seeing an increase in the demand for more Poppies & Dark Vase
