The Cardinal Newman Dance Program presented "Moments of Impact"
O
n May 1st and 2nd in the Jackson Theater at Sonoma Country Day School, Director and Choreographer Gabrielle Thompson, alongside a talented group of students, presented an evening full of inspiring performances based on moments that left lasting impressions. Dancers rocked the stage with their enthusiasm and passion dancing to great classics such as "Love" by Nat King Cole and “Chorus Line”, along with current music from Cold Play and Black Eyed Peas. Surprises including a captivating blacklight piece, live music and singing and student choreography entertained the exuberant audience. A magnificent dance solo of self-expression by Dalton Bertolone was overwhelmingly received. Operatic vocals professionally sung by Sarah Sims was a delight to the entire audience along with the talented lyrics, voice and music of Sarah DeFors and fine vocals of Kaela Wall. All 75 dancers performed with impeccable timing and unity including seniors Talia Baugnon, Marcia Carino, Kara Chandler, Caitlyn Rei, Shelby Deffterios, Sarah Matossian and Sarah Wiggins. A special thank you to the parent volunteers such as Leesa Deffterios, Natalie Piazza, Denise Fossi and Sylvia Duffy who created a successful raffle and concessions. All of the parents are immensely supportive and it could not have been done without their ongoing involvement. Another year of successful dance performances will be remembered by students and audience alike.
