The building coverage ratio is only 24.5% (the statutory building coverage ratio is 40%), which is accomplished through the recession of base road and the reservation of open spaces. The periphery of the base features no iron fences or green plant fences such as Buddhist pine and golden dewdrop, and no facilities or plants that would obstruct the openness of the space are installed. Rather, the spatial layers are created using multilayer planting to define the private and the public spaces, such that the visual transparency is unobstructed, and the interior as well as exterior spaces of the yard are connected to create the sense of an endless garden.
The large number of reserved open public spaces and green lands connect the urban pedestrian paths with cycling trail system, as well as the public activity spaces such as parks on corners, strengthening the accessibility of the parks and communities within the vicinity, thereby enhancing the overall urban open spatial connection. In addition, seasonal plants are used, with the pink cherry blossoms responsible for unveiling the prelude, followed by colorful camellia. The maple turns from green to red in autumn, where the maple leaves sway with the wind to introduce greenness in between the buildings and the roads. The interior and the exterior of the yard are of uniform sentiment, creating depth-of-field and offering the landscapes with soul and profoundness. The building mass may also be weakened through plants to reduce the direct visual sensation of the mass, allowing one to stroll amongst the green lushness.
Design Key Points 1. Enhancement of environmental quality. 2. Increase spatial penetration. 3. Actively maintain open spaces. 4. Strengthen the connection between urban overall open spaces.
