The Kinigi Guest House opened its doors in July 2000 and was founded as an income-generating project for the ‘Association de Solidarité des Femmes Rwandaises’ – a non-profit organisation for the protection of vulnerable groups (mostly widows and orphans). The guesthouse accommodates over 40 people, in rooms that are spacious and equipped with hot showers, private bathrooms and mosquito nets and electricity. Guests looking for an outdoor experience are able to pitch their own tents or alternatively, for more discerning travellers, there is one VIP suite. Situated in the foothills of the Virungas, the guesthouse is ideal for the early morning gorilla trekking departures.
