The 11 thatch and stone chalets are nestled in lush manicured gardens overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the lake. It has a clifftop location with fine views across the Rift Valley, Lake Malawi and Tanzania. Accommodation consists of double and twin rooms and many well shaded campsites. All the rooms have fine views of the lake and the bush. The rooms are designed to be of low environmental impact. In the main, traditional building techniques have been used, such as cob walls and floors and grass thatch, while plantation timber has been used as much as possible. The camp is also solar powered.

Mzoozoozoo Lodge Cell: +265 888 864 493 Mzoozoozoo Lodge is the main backpackers’ residence in Mzuzu. It features a dormitory, a double room, a caravan and a garden where guests can pitch a tent. Facilities include electricity, mosquito net and hot water as well as drinking water, baggage storage and a parking area. The lodge has a restaurant and bar. Breakfast is available. There is usually a good atmosphere in the evenings.

Hiking and mountain biking are popular at Luwawa and the lodge offers a range of activities to suit all the family.
