Stanley’s Kopje enjoys a nearby water hole encourages game close to the Camp and the Mwanamboga area is generally perceived to be a great game viewing area in the park. The Camp is named after the explorer Morten Stanley, who led an expedition through Mikumi National Park and right past the location of the Camp.

The camp’s solar powered tents are individually named after the Africa Football Cup of Nations teams, from Angola to Zambia, and are fully equipped with modern eco technology. Camp activities include walking trials, cycling, swimming, a mini gym and three types of safari excursion.

The Selous Mbega Camp is situated in its own forest reserve. Built in 2000, it is one of the original camps set up along the mighty Rufiji River, offering boat safaris, walking Safaris and game drives as well as cultural trips to the Mloka village. Fishing excursions on the Rufiji River can also be arranged.

Sleeping under canvas at Vuma is a far cry from the discomfort usually associated with camps. The 16 Vuma Hills tents are comfortably furnished, complete with shaded wooden veranda at the front and en-suite bathroom facilities at the back there is not much more to be asked for.
