Herschel Supply Co. is a Canadian manufacturer of hipster retro backpacks and accessories. The company was founded by Lyndon and Jamie Cormack in 2009 and is based in Vancouver, British Columbia. It expanded quickly, and featured 10,000 points of sale in 2016. Slate described the brand as “a global phenomenon, glimpsed wherever hipsters dare to tread.” Its products comprise backpacks, duffel bags, other luggage, hats and other accessories. The brand is aimed at 18-to-35-year-old consumers, and is based on evoking a sense of American nostalgia – for instance through synthetic leather straps and an old-time logo, as well as through its name, which refers to Herschel, Saskatchewan, a very small Canadian frontier village. Herschel’s first store in Canada opened in Vancouver’s Gastown in 2018. Herschel operates 44 retail locations worldwide, from Hong Kong to Dubai to Paris.

Nicola Luey Nicola Luey, 22, may be still studying fashion at AUT’s post-graduate honours programme, but that hasn’t stopped the talented young designer from making her mark on the fashion world. Her work with Vietnamese designer Khanh Vy won first place at the Vietnamese and New Zealand Embassy Fashion Collaboration, and she was selected to show as an emerging designer at iD Fashion Week. She also participated in this year’s Heart of the City’s 10 Days of Fashion in the City, whereby successful applicants exhibited their designs in their own pop-up store.

Rihanna Talk That Talk Tour Talk That Talk is the sixth studio album by Barbadian singer Rihanna, released on November 18, 2011, by Def Jam Recordings and SRP Records. It was recorded while traveling for the Loud Tour between February and November 2011, and was originally planned to be a reissue of her previous studio album Loud (2010). As executive producer, Rihanna enlisted a wide range of producers including Alex da Kid, Calvin Harris, Chase & Status, No I.D., and StarGate to achieve her desired sound. Following in the same vein as Loud, Talk That Talk is a dance-oriented pop/R&B crossover album that incorporates elements of hip hop, dubstep, electronic and house music. The album also continues to have subtle dancehall genres, whilst its lyrical content and themes revolve around a nihilist, romantic and lascivious lover.
