Queenstown Airport Corporation: Vacancy for Director

Queenstown Airport Corporation Ltd (QAC) is owner and operator of Queenstown International Airport and the operator of Wānaka Airport under a management services agreement. Queenstown Airport is the fourth largest airport in Aotearoa New Zealand. One of the present directors retired from the Board at its February Meeting and the shareholders are seeking to appoint a replacement. An advantage for candidates considering this vacancy will be a strong background in finance, auditing and / or risk management, a professional director, or a practicing chartered accountant. The successful candidate will be someone who can work as part of a diverse team and looking to make a positive contribution to this important community asset.

QAC is a Council Controlled Trading Organisation (CCTO). It is owned by the Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC – 75.01%) and Auckland International Airport (AIAL – 24.99%). This ownership structure creates an additional layer of public accountability and responsibility for the Board.

Applications are sought from suitably qualified candidates for this position. Experience in the airport or airline industry and a background in governance (in particular in the public sector) would also be an advantage.
