The doggy events of the year are back!

Tails are wagging about the return of our Dog Walks in Queenstown (25 March) and Wānaka (26 March). Both events feature giveaways, sausage sizzles, stalls and plenty of pooches!

Give blood

The New Zealand Blood Service (NZBS) will host its first mobile blood drive in the district region since 2019, from March 28-30.

NZBS is aiming to collect 200 donations while in Queenstown Lakes.

New donors are encouraged to find out if they are eligible at nzblood.co.nz and then book an appointment to donate.

Those who have previously been told they could not give blood due to their age or a medical condition are also asked to check the updated NZBS donor eligibility criteria.

Appointments necessary, to book: Visit nzblood.co.nz, download the New Zealand Blood Service Donor App, or call 0800 448 325.

When: Tues, March 28, 8.30am to 1.30pm, Wed 29, 7.30am to 1.30pm, Thurs 30, 7.30am to 12.30pm.

Help make distraction packs

Altrusa International Queenstown is running a hands-on Service Open Day to make Distraction Packs to hand out to emergency services and first responders for when they deal with children.

As well as assembling the packs, they will create sock puppets and marble mazes. Light refreshments available.

The Veils …And Out Of The Void Came Love tour

This is the Veils first national tour since the Nux Vomica 15th anniversary tour of 2021.

Powerfully-voiced Australian folk artist, Grace Cummings will play support on the show.

Undertow, first single released from the new album is a beautiful and unmistakably Veils track, but showing the chasm of space and time that has passed, and the changes the band, Andrews and the world have undergone since The Veils’ last release.

Wānaka Festival Of Colour

Welcome to the 10th Wānaka Festival Of Colour! The Wānaka Festival of Colour is the flagship arts event for the Southern Lakes region. The street and venues of Wānaka will be alive from March 26th to 2nd April, 2023 for a week-long celebration of the arts on an autumn alpine stage.

Artist Talk

Cindy Huang: Artist talk and clay workshop

Cindy Huang is holding a kōrero and workshop so others can learn about her practice and her process of working with clay. This will be a two-hour ceramic vasemaking workshop. Participants will be guided in the ceramic-making process and will be able to take home a bespoke vase in the style of Cindy’s Round Hill vase.
