Friday, March 24th bulls will be available for viewing and a complimentary BBQ will be held 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, March 25th bulls will be available in the morning for viewing, complimentary lunch will be held at 12:00 p.m. and sale starts at 1:00 p.m.

Insurance

Insurance will be available on sale day. We recommend insurance on all bulls returning to the farm. Although every precaution will be taken to responsibly look after your bull until it is delivered after the bull is sold, we will not take any liability, legal or otherwise. In an event of accident or loss we highly recommend you insure your bull purchase.

Delivery

$100 off per lot that is taken home on sale day. Bulls will be delivered free of charge within 300km of consigners residences.

Guarantee

Bulls are 100% guaranteed to be breeders. If any bull fails to be satisfactory breeder will do out upmost to replace with another bull of equal volume or a credit will be given towards another bull. All bulls are semen tested and vet inspected.

Site Unseen

If you are unable to attend the sale, but are interested in bulls, please feel free to contact the consigners prior to sale day and they will personally go over the bulls and program to recommend the animal that would meet your needs.

Welcome to the Power Bull Sale! We are very excited to be in the sale working with the other consigners offering you a select group of Black Angus, Charolais and Limousin 2 year olds and yearling bulls. This past year we changed our breed program from calving in January to now calving in May. There were a few reasons to this decision one was to lessen the work load of winter calving and the other to raise bulls with a bit more age on them to cover a few more cows in the breeding seasons for their owners so having made this choice we have fewer numbers on offer this year. offer this year. The bulls we have in the sale some are performance and others heifer bull prospects. Our bulls were out on pasture til mid October then brought in and put on hay til mid November then were on mixed hay and grain silage ration along with CattlActive tubs. We feel the bulls are fed a healthy diet and seem to do well for us this way. They are on a full herd health program, vaccinated twice a year, and Fusogard for foot rot plus ivomec and clean up 2. We try to raise bulls or cattle that are easy doing low maintenance good feet easy to work with, bulls that can stay in your herd as long as you need them to,, that’s our goal. So please come and join us to look through the bulls we always enjoy talking cattle and look forward to seeing you sale day.

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the Power Bull Sale.

David H. McDougall Ranch was established in 1873, registered the first brand in Alberta, circle O left hip, and has remained operating within the family, ever since. In 1999, we expanded to northern British Columbia, Pink Mountain, where we also run cow/calf operation

between the Cochrane and BC ranch, we are constantly swapping bulls and replacement heifers. It is very important to us that all the cattle are able to handle terrain, travel and climate that both ranches require. Due to the distance between the two, the biggest part of making it work is having low maintenance cattle.

This year we are extremely happy with the uniformity and stoutness throughout the yearlings. Our seed stock additions for our 2022 calves included, from Miller Wilson Angus, Capitalist, a package of bred heifers from Poplar Meadows and a Tibbie heifer from Hamilton Farms.

Our two year old offering is just as impressive, the majority of these bulls are March/April calves.

All the bulls have been fed hay and a grower pellet from late October. These bulls are not pushed and are ready to go to work. They spend the winter in a 60 acre field where they are able to move and walk to whatever they need. They are pail fed and quite.
