CLUB UPDATE

BRIAN PIZZIMENTI
brian.pizzimenti@lakenona.com
407.209.1221
Dear Members,
June and July were filled with a diverse lineup of events and activities that brought families together and created lasting memories! Food lovers had a treat with our Summer Cuisine Series nights, while cinema enthusiasts enjoyed a night of laughter and camaraderie at the Happy Gilmore 2 Premiere Party, and an engaging Dino Dig Family Night sparked the imaginations of our young explorers. As the temperatures soared, our holiday pool parties and Sunday Splashes provided the perfect respite, creating a fun-filled atmosphere for all ages to dive into summer. Nona Crew's annual Summer Camp was an absolute highlight of June and July, offering campers four vibrant and energetic weeks as our campers enjoyed a variety of summer fun, adventure, and unforgettable experiences! As we enter the final months of summer, I encourage you to mark your calendars to enjoy these upcoming events:
• Lakeside Lobster Fest (August 8)
• Back-To-School Splash (August 10)
• Summer Wine Dinner Series (Aug. 16 & Sept. 13)
• BBQ & Brews Family Night (August 22)
• Labor Day Splash (September 1)
• Fall Cuisine Series: Oktoberfest (September 19)
• NEW! Member Mixology (September 24)
• Pumpkins & Plaid Fall Festival (September 26)
As golfers took to the greens, they were met with the commitment of our dedicated Golf Course Maintenance Team, led by Nick Dolimpio. This talented team has been hard at work, diligently completing two scheduled aerifications, with our final aerification scheduled for August 25 - 28, all of which are crucial for maintaining turf health and enhancing the overall conditions of our beautiful course.
CLUB EXPANSION/RENOVATION UPDATE
In June, Club leadership team members took a hard hat tour to explore the progress of the developing annex expansion. Witnessing such progress first-hand is truly exciting and signals a promising future for the Club and the overall Member experience. To keep everyone informed, we are planning another renovation meeting to share details about the developments and get a first-hand glimpse of the progress and plans. Additional details will follow in the coming weeks.
Sincerely,
Brian Pizzimenti, CCM General Manager

June and July have been relatively kind to us with the weather, allowing the golf course to recover after a challenging spring. Nick and his team did a fantastic job preparing the course for the USGA U.S. Amateur Qualifier (held July 14), and congratulations to Lake Nona Member Cooper Claycomb, who qualified and will be playing at the U.S. Amateur Championship held at the Olympic Club in in San Francisco on August 11 - 17!
COURSE RATING UPDATE
Lake Nona's championship golf course has once again been rated by USGA officials, and we look forward to receiving an updated stroke index and slope rating to match the course’s current conditions ahead of this season. Any changes will be communicated and updated on the GHIN app and scorecards.
GOLF COACHING
Daniel Gray, together with his team of Taylor Fulbright, Lucas Harz, and Matt Palazzolo have been hard at work creating a tremendous ecosystem and initiatives for player development. Daniel has recently been working with several of our professional touring Members as well, notably Graeme McDowell who finished second at LIV Virginia and Scott Vincent winning in Asia on the International Series. I encourage all Members to utilize this talented team of golf professionals to help develop your game from a technical, and physical and golf equipment standard.
JUNIOR GOLF
On the course, you may have seen a growing number of juniors playing in the late afternoon/ early evening. We appreciate your understanding and patience while these budding young golfers apply what they are learning on the driving range to the golf course. COURSE NEWS

NICHOLAS DOLIMPIO
ndolimpio@lakenona.com

It’s hard to believe we’re already in August, it feels like we just began our summer cultural practices, and now we’re only two months away from overseeding once again. As many of you know, managing an overseeded property comes with unique challenges, especially during the transition back to Bermudagrass. While we’ve had several successful transitions in recent years, even minor setbacks naturally raise questions. I want to reassure you that our team begins preparing for transition as early as February. We identify potential trouble spots and apply targeted nutrients and wetting agents to help the Bermudagrass wake up quickly. It’s a delicate balancing act, feeding the Bermuda without overstimulating the overseed. Given the investment in overseeding, we err on the side of protecting it until the optimal spray-out window.
This year’s transition initially looked promising, particularly on dry mounds in April and May. However, after spraying out the overseed at the end of May, the true ratio of overseed to Bermuda became more apparent. Unlike non-overseeded courses that can simply sod weak areas, our situation is more complex. Sod rarely survives the next overseed cycle and often requires repeated replacement year after year, a solution that’s neither sustainable for the course, nor the Club. Instead, we focus on encouraging natural recovery in weak areas, which results in stronger, more resilient turf over the long term. The time between the June and July aerifications is especially critical for this regrowth. Thank you for your patience and trust while we’ve worked tirelessly to restore full Bermuda coverage.
SUMMER PROJECT UPDATES
• Lake Bank Restoration: We are very pleased with the final results of the erosion control solution DredgeSOX. The lake banks look excellent and we are particularly excited to see how holes 12, 13, and 17 showcase the overseed this upcoming season. Please see before and after photos (p. 31).
• Hole 17 Cart Path Reroute & Bridge Installation: We are targeting the August aerification closure window to complete the rerouting of the cart path and installation of the new bridge.
FINAL AERIFICATION CLOSURE: AUGUST 25 - 28
The course will be closed during this time, but the driving range will be open Tuesday through Thursday. This is our least aggressive aerification of the year, as August’s afternoon cloud cover limits recovery potential.
CART TRAFFIC & COURSE CARE
Last season, we introduced wooden posts at the entry and exit points of each hole to help guide cart traffic. Unfortunately, adherence to this system has been limited. A sincere thank you to those who follow these guidelines—your care and respect for the course are appreciated.
• Entry: After teeing off, remain on the cart path until you reach the wooden entry post. Enter the turf within 10 feet of the post, and please scatter traffic once on the hole. If you notice visible tire tracks, do your best to avoid following the same path.
• Exit: After your shot, return to the exit post on the cart path side and rejoin the path in as short and direct a line as possible. It’s okay to pass the exit post in the fairway to reach your ball, but please exit at the designated point.
With everyone's cooperation, we can drastically reduce the number of ropes on the course and maintain a much cleaner, more polished aesthetic. However, if cart traffic continues to cut across sensitive areas, especially the corners of approaches, we will be forced to increase rope usage to protect the turf.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
• Always keep all four tires on the path around tees and greens.
• Fix your ball mark—and one other—on every green.
• Rake bunkers thoroughly, as if you were in the next group to play from the same spot.

SUMMER MOMENTUM & MILESTONES
As we reflect on an incredible first half of the year, we are proud to be ahead of our goals with over $34 million in closed and pending properties. Buyer enthusiasm is soaring, especially with the expansion and renovation of the Club facilities underway.
Custom spec home construction in the Cromwell expansion is progressing beautifully. We welcomed the first residents this summer and are excited to welcome the second Cromwell family to their new home in September. We are also thrilled to announce new spec home designs by Goehring & Morgan and Maroon Fine Homes, soon to rise on the water-view lots along Cromwell Road.
Stop by our new office in Lake Nona Town Center, as we would love to share a coffee and tour the stunning homes taking shape within the community!

Coordinated by Tavistock Development Group, it was a true team effort, as Executive Chef Joe Sledz and the Club culinary team prepared a comforting, home-style meal, while the Lake Nona Realty team helped serve and connect with families staying at the Nemours/Lake Nona location.
