MEMBER PLAY
A golf Member may make a tee time for a game with fellow Members or guests on the Lake Nona ForeTees app or with the Professional Shop up to 30 days in advance. For reservations beyond 30 days, air travel must be involved and approval from the Director of Golf is required. Online tee sheet allows Members to reserve three tee times in a 30-day period. To reserve additional tee times, you must contact the Professional Shop. Standing tee times (the same reoccuring tee times in a 30-day period) are not permitted. All players must register with the Professional Shop prior to playing. Members are responsible for registering their guests with the Professional Shop.
GUEST PLAY
A guest may play the golf course no more than one time per month or 10 times per year, regardless of the sponsoring Member. House guests (a guest that is staying in your home) and Lodge guests can play up to 10 times per year, but are not restricted to once a month. Club tournaments are not included in this count. This rule also applies to the use of the practice facilities including: the driving range, short-game areas, and putting greens. If guests are not booked with a tee time on that day, use of the practice facilities is prohibited.

GOLF CARTS
The Club maintains a fleet of electric-powered golf carts for Members and their guests which are strictly for use on the golf course only. Members are charged a cart fee set by the Club per seat. Members are expected to share a cart and pair up, unless there is an odd number of players in the group. No more than two people and two golf bags may occupy or be carried on a single cart at any time. Only persons 16 years of age and holding a valid driver’slicense may operate a Club-owned cart on the Club Facilities. Club-owned carts are not permitted for use around the Community and are strictly prohibited from driving off Club property. Cart privileges will be affected should this policy not be followed.
Members who reside within the Lake Nona Estates community may operate a privately owned golf cart on the golf course or driving range (a cart fee or annual trail fee applies). All privately owned carts must initially be approved by the Director of Golf and then registered with the community security on an annual basis. In order to operate a golf cart (Club-owned or privately owned) on the course, the driver must hold a valid driver’s license and abide by all rules that govern Club-owned carts. During CART PATH ONLY times, players may be asked to use a club fleet cart.
Members are required to follow the cart usage rules of the day. Golf carts must always remain on cart paths around all tees and greens unless the Club Operator has approved the use of a Handicap Flag. The Club Operator may restrict cart use at any time.
Members will be responsible and personally liable for damage to a golf cart or personal injury while the golf cart is in their possession or the possession of their Authorized Users or guests or for any damage to the golf course resulting from their use of a golf cart or the use of a golf cart by their Authorized Users or guests.
TRAIL FEE
The trail fee is an optional program for resident-Members of the Lake Nona Estates community who wish to operate their privately-owned golf carts on the golf course. Resident-Members may join the trail fee or pay a cart fee each time they use their personal cart on the golf course. This fee includes standard cart amenities for each round and general pre- and post-round service of your personal cart by the Club’s golf services team. Guests and fellow Members will not be charged a cart fee if riding with a Member who is enrolled in the trail fee program.
REQUEST FOR HANDICAP FLAGS
Handicap flags for golf carts are available to golfers with a valid state-issued handicap placard, a doctor’s note, or proof of a physical disability. To receive a handicap flag, players must register with the Professional Shop and sign an acknowledgment of this policy. Handicap flag must be displayed on cart at all times. Carts with handicap flags may enter restricted areas to assist players but must adhere to the following restrictions:
• Carts must remain 20 ft. from greens and off approaches and collars.
• Keep carts on paths around tees.
• Avoid steep slopes and wet areas to prevent damaging the course.
• During wet or inclement weather, handicap flag privileges may be modified or suspended to protect the course.
Failure to comply with this policy may result in the suspension or revocation of handicap flag privileges. Our staff will monitor compliance to ensure the course remains accessible and in excellent condition for all players.
PERSONAL CART SERVICES
To schedule a service, maintenance, or repair on your personal golf cart with a cart technician, please contact the Professional Shop. Fees associated with any cart service are dependent on the needs of each cart.
RULES OF PLAY
United States Golf Association (USGA) rules shall govern play at all time, except as modified by local rules.
PACE OF PLAY
The GPS-enabled golf carts are effective in monitoring the daily pace of play. By having complete vision of the movement of all carts, the professional staff can track players falling behind and can communicate to that cart directly, in addition to the ranger’s efforts to ensure play remains at an enjoyable pace. The USGA standard pace of play for Lake Nona is 4 hours and 10 minutes, a reasonable, maximum pace for a round of golf. Should you be playing at a much faster pace, please be respectful of your fellow Members and allow them to play at this standard pace. At no time, should Members police other Members. If you have any concerns, please contact the Professional Shop for assistance.
PLAYING THROUGH
Players, while looking for a lost ball or otherwise engaged in slow play so as to hold up the four-ball behind them shall, as a matter of courtesy, allow the following four-ball to play through. Any four-ball which loses more than one clear hole on the players ahead must allow the following four-ball to play through. After signaling the fourball to play though, the forward four-ball shall not continue play until the previously following four-ball has passed and is well out of range.
SLOW PLAY
Slow play shall mean a four-ball or group of lesser size taking over four hours and 10 minutes to complete a round of 18 holes and two hours to complete any round of nine holes, or any group losing a full hole of play on those in front. All players are encouraged to report instances of slow play to the Professional Shop and they should not consider themselves nor shall others consider those reporting slow play to be anything but guardians of the game of golf and the rights and privileges of the membership.
MAKING THE TURN
Players stopping for food, beverages, or any other reason following the completion of play at hole No. 9, and before commencement of play on hole No. 10, may not delay the following groups. The stopping players are required to invite the following group to play through in order to maintain continuity of play.
CLEARING SHOTS
Each player should be prepared to make his/her shot when it is his/her turn to play, and all players shall be certain that the group ahead is well clear of the green or otherwise out of range before playing any shot.
REPAIRING BALL MARKS & DIVOTS
Players shall be responsible for repairing any ball mark made by their shot on putting greens. Do not replace divots on the course, fill the divot with sand provided on the golf carts.
CLEARING THE GREEN
When play of a hole has been completed, the flagstick shall be promptly returned to the hole and the player shall immediately clear and leave the putting green and proceed to the next tee without delay.
SCORES
Scores for all rounds (18- and 9-hole), including tournament rounds, played at the Club must be turned into the Professional Shop for handicap purposes. It is a player’s responsibility to ensure their scores and handicap are accurately recorded and maintained.
BUNKERS
Select bunkers are designated as waste bunkers, or native areas, which become part of the general area of the course. In these areas, players may ground their clubs but must not improve their lie. Practice swings are permitted in waste bunkers as these are a general area. All other bunkers remain as bunkers, which are defined in the USGA rules of golf as specially prepared areas of sand and will have rakes present. For a current list of waste bunkers, please contact the Professioal Shop.
HANDICAPS
All Members that wish to play in any Club-sponsored event must establish a U.S.G.A. handicap. The Club covers Golf Members’ enrollment in the U.S.G.A. GHIN system. Members and/or guests of Members wishing to play in any Club event that does not have an established handicap may be denied entry or be assigned a handicap by the Handicap Committee. Please contact the Professional Shop for information on establishing a handicap.
PRACTICE AND GOLF INSTRUCTION
Practice is not permitted on the course. Golf instruction is available and conducted by the Club’s team of certified golf professionals. Only touring professional Members are permitted to have their personal golf instructors teach them at Club facilities. All other Club Members may not have personal instructors teach them on Club property.
CELL PHONE USAGE
The use of cell phones on the golf course is strongly discouraged; however, if it must be used, the following courtesies apply:
• Phones must set to silent mode when on the course.
• Calls must be made away from players and should not interrupt the pace of play.
WALKING POLICY
Members and their guests are permitted to walk the golf course.
JUNIOR PLAY
Juniors (children of Members under the age of 18) may play the golf course with a parent Member or adult Member during the times allocated for Members and guests. Juniors may play the golf course unaccompanied by the parent Member or adult Member dependent on their age and skill level. Juniors may be required to pass a player’s ability test, as administered by a member of the Lake Nona professional staff. Juniors under the age of 16, or without a valid U.S. driver’s license, are strictly prohibited from operating a golf cart either Club-owned or a privately owned.
