CLUB UPDATE

BRIAN PIZZIMENTI
brian.pizzimenti@lakenona.com

Dear Members,
April was an exciting month with engaging events and a sense of community that highlighted the month. The popular Steak Night and Burgundy Wine Dinner were both well attended and garnered great feedback regarding the food and wine pairings. In honor of the Masters, we hosted a fun and lively Par 3 Championship short-course contest on the driving range, along with a Mini Masters Family Night, where families enjoyed the specialty miniature golf course, golf games, and dinner stations that featured The Masters’ signature offerings. Easter weekend was full of memorable family activities, with a Friday Fish Fry, followed by the Easter Color Run 5K & Kids Fun Run on Saturday with over 60 participants who enjoyed the colorful springtime fitness event. The annual Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt remains one of our most popular holiday celebrations with 450 Members and their families enjoying an elaborate holiday brunch, petting zoo, an array of children's activities, and the highly anticipated Easter Bunny and egg hunt. Nona Crew, racquet sports, and fitness continue the springtime energy by hosting monthly featured events, engaging programming, and wellness workshops that appeal to a variety of ages and interests and enhance overall Club life.
Club programming in May remains steadfast featuring seasonal celebrations early in the month, followed by the start of our summer programming later in the month, a few highlights include:
• Cinco De Mayo Familia Fiesta (May 3)
• Mother's Day Brunch (May 11)
• Champagne Wine Dinner (May 21)
• Summer Series: Oyster Feast & Seafood Night (May 24)
• Red, White & Blue BBQ (May 26)
• School's Out Pizza Party (May 30)
CLUB EXPANSION/RENOVATION UPDATE
In Club expansion and renovation news, the annex expansion is taking shape with significant vertical progress made in April. Over the next few months, we will be working on the logistics, timing, and plans for the upcoming Clubhouse, Bath & Racquet and pool renovations, and we will share updates as soon as it becomes available.
Sincerely,
Brian Pizzimenti, CCM General Manager

GOLF NEWS

MATT COLLIS
matt.collis@lakenona.com
407.209.1241
The month of April provided some great drama for golf enthusiasts as the Majors began on Tour. A historic edition of The Masters brought great performances for Tyrrell Hatton (T14) and Ben An (T21) while the LPGA Tour's Chevron Championship had eight talented players representing Lake Nona in the field. A huge congratulations to Lindy Duncan and Ariya Jutanugarn for their exceptional performances, which culminated in a tie for the lead at the end of Sunday, where they narrowly missed out in a competitive five-way playoff. In collegiate golf, a hearty congratulations to Luke Poulter and his Florida team for winning the SEC Championship!
There were more winners on the course this month as our season-long Match Play events concluded successfully, with Canon Claycomb emerging as the victor in the men’s scratch final and Liliana Ruiz-Munoz claiming the title in the ladies' scratch final. Thanks to all who took part this winter, and a big thanks to Assistant Professional Chuck Higby for organizing this great event. The annual Parent-Child Championship, held over the Easter weekend, was a well-attended event with 44 players, fostering enjoyable competition among our Members. Congratulations to the net division winners, Todd and Nicholas Shannon, and the gross division winners, Jeff and Colby Knipe. The Ladies' Member-Member tournament brought our "Member Major" season to a close, with Luann Pendy and Shaio Zerba winning the net prize, and Liliana Ruiz-Munoz and Heidi Bedell securing the gross prize. Thank you to Assistant Professional Kendra Swanson for her hard work in organizing ladies' golf this season!
UPCOMING COURSE ENHANCEMENTS
We are pleased to share news of continued investment in our course through a carefully considered five-year strategic plan. A particularly noteworthy project involves the strategic rerouting of the cart path and bridge on Hole 17, which will now traverse the lake in front of the green. This modification also presents an opportunity to consider future enhancements to the design of the 17th and 18th holes. We are optimistic that these improvements will contribute positively to the overall Member experience and the long-term quality of our course. For additional details, please see the Course Update (p. 26).

COURSE NEWS

ndolimpio@lakenona.com
407.209.1281
I couldn’t be prouder of the course conditions our team has produced this spring. In my time here, this is by far the firmest we have ever been able to maintain the course without compromising turf health. We pushed the limits during Griffon Cup and the course held up beautifully. We took it a step further over Masters weekend, finally seeing just enough stress to know we reached the edge—yet the greens recovered quickly and performed exceptionally well. We’re now in the critical phase of transitioning from overseed to Bermuda, balancing the delicate process of pushing out ryegrass while encouraging warm-season growth. The team is already ahead of years past by proactively addressing our annual sod areas. This marks my 10th transition season at Lake Nona, and we’re always looking for ways to improve playability while minimizing disruption. With our summer seasons becoming increasingly active, we have embraced a more year-round approach to maintenance - focusing on in-season excellence while raising the standard during summer for our year-round Members. Looking ahead, we have several exciting improvement projects planned in addition to our summer aerification schedule. The first course closure is scheduled for May 27 - June 4. The driving range will remain open May 30-June 1 and June 3–4 from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
LAKE BANK RESTORATION (PHASE 1 OF 3)
Starting May 27, we will begin installing DredgeSox along holes 12, 13, and 17. This erosion control solution will restore clean, rounded lake banks similar to what you see at TPC Sawgrass and Augusta. We are expecting this project to take three weeks and will start on 17 during our aerification closure this month. Over the next three summers, we will address all in-play lake banks to create a long-term, aesthetically consistent solution.
CART PATH REPAIRS
Beginning this June, we will begin repairing damaged sections of cart path, prioritizing hightraffic areas such as the #11 tee and #9 green. Additional areas will be addressed in the coming years. Please expect temporary cart traffic rerouting during the repair work.
17 BRIDGE & CART PATH REROUTE
This project involves building a new bridge across the pond on 17 and rerouting the path through the shaded oak tree area right of 17 green toward 18 tees. This adjustment will support future enhancements to 18 tees and eliminate the need to replace the two aging bridges on 17. Mounding will be used to visually screen the new path from 17 tee.

Nestled along the 12th fairway of Lake Nonas famed championship golf course, stunning panoramic fairway and water views provide the backdrop for this gorgeous estate. The home was expertly reimagined by designer Ashley Martin Homes and remodeled by DeVoe Custom Homes in 2022. Custom double doors open to the homes welcoming foyer, which upon entry offers the first views of the homes prime golf course location through floor-to-ceiling windows. A formal sitting room greets guests and shares a two-sided fire place with the beautiful, private dining room. Displaying preeminent craftsmanship at every turn, custom archways, European Oak hardwood floors, and beamed ceiling details extend beyond the entry into the heart of the home where an epicurean kitchen boasts two expansive islands, custom cabinetry, a walk-in pantry and state-of-the-art appliances from Wolf, Subzero and Miele. Floor-to-ceiling windows continue into the adjoining family room, which flood the space with natural light while taking full advantage of the serene views. The owners suite is perfectly situated for privacy, at the back of the home on the first floor, and encompasses a morning bar, large custom walk-in closets and a breathtaking bathroom. Custom vanities, a modern soaking tub and glass-enclosed shower are adorned with Brizo Luxe Gold fixtures, Rejuvenation knobs and pulls and handmade Zellige and mosaic tiles, which create a personal sanctuary within the home. The upstairs entertainment loft features a custom wet bar with dual undercounter beverage refrigerators, and offers access to the screen enclosed balcony with elevated, panoramic views. Three en suite bedrooms, including a spacious junior primary suite, complete the second level. The open outdoor living area creates the perfect setting with the covered lanai, summer kitchen and al fresco dining area. Highlights of the new pool include a sun shelf and heated spa.
