Horizon Plan Progress The Lake Naomi Club’s four phase plan to address the amenity needs of the Members is in full swing. The Phase One Plan, the renovation of the Timber Trails Golf Center and Clubhouse, is very close to becoming a reality. The contractors and the Management Team are working hard to complete the construction and order the supplies so that the doors will be open to the Members by Memorial Day weekend. The biggest concern right now is how soon Mother Nature is going to thaw the ground so that the site work can be completed. The Operations Teams are working on all the details and plans to roll out these exciting renovations to the Membership with Special Opening Events. The Timber Trails Golf Course is expected to be in full swing on April 17th (weather depending) and the Timber Trails Pool will be nice and warm and ready for action on Memorial Weekend. Meanwhile, Management and the Club’s Committees have been working with the Architects and Engineers on developing the plans for Phase Two. Phase Two focuses on the expansion and enhancement of the Community Center’s locker rooms, fitness area, pool and program areas. Once more detailed drawings are established and accurate costs can be projected, Management will be sharing these plans along with Question and Answer sessions prior to the Membership vote for Phase Two of the Horizon Plan. These are very exciting times as the Club positions itself to serve the Members now and for generations to come.

Carry Your 2015 Membership Card We are often asked why it is so important for M Members b tto hhave th their i M Membership b hi Identification Cards on their person while using the Club facilities. The easiest answer is that it allows the staff to ensure that only bona fide Members are using the facilities but the card also provides other functions as well. The Board of Governors, Board of Trustees, and Management use the information gathered from the “swiping in” at various amenities to help ensure that the Club is operating as efficiently as possible. It permits the Club to see how many Members are using facilities and at what times so our staffing and hours of operation can best accommodate the needs of the Members. All Members are reminded that 2015 Membership Identification Cards will be required to access facilities starting May 1st. Membership Cards will be needed to access the Timber Trails Golf Course beginning April 17th. Cards are included in the Membership Packets available at the Administrative Office to all paid Members beginning April 3rd. Please help us maintain a Platinum Club experience by having your card available.

Be a LNC Good Neighbor B

The Activities Committee would like to remind all Members that The LNC Good N Neighbor Support Network is a group of fellow Club Members that links older adults and persons with disabilities to support services essential to their physical and mental well-being. The focus is on helping people continue to live independent fulfilling lives by providing opportunities to attend events, activities, classes and workshops, gain access to necessary information and resources, and to provide caregiver relief. Community volunteers are invited to participate. A binder will be kept with contact information on those willing to create a network of support to assist in general activities of daily living. These services may include transportation to appointments, picking up medications and/or mail, and companionship while the caregiver takes a respite. Additional resources are also available throughout Monroe County and are listed in the Senior Services Directory. This directory is available at the Administrative Office. For more information on participating in the Good Neighbor Network please email Kelly Swingle, Community Center Manager at kswingle@lakenaomiclub.com.

Murder Mystery The Activities Committee welcomes The Murder Mystery Company to the LNCH on April 18, 2015. Things are heating up in this juice joint when someone gets offed in the speakeasy. Figuring out whodunit won’t be easy with a couple of miffed molls in the crowd, not to mention some stiff competition from the bootlegging business, and an undercover fed! Make a big entrance in your flapper dresses and pinstriped suits! Bribe suspects and guests for clues, but watch out for wooden nickels, you never know who to trust. Don’t be a flat tire! Get a wiggle on and reserve your seats for a night of mystery, intrigue, and murder at your venue with The Murder Mystery Company at the LNC Clubhouse. Dinner will begin at 6PM. The cost is $36 per person. Please call the Community Center at 570-646-8585 to make your reservation.

LNC Instagram Account The Club has expanded the social media platform to include Instagram. Check us out at LakeNaomiClub_Official. We will be adding many pictures throughout the year but we are also excited to share your photos - be sure to hashtag your photos with #LakeNaomiClub or #MountaintopLodge. Watch for the #SummerSoonLNC campaign!

Don’t Delay - Sign Up Early for Events!!! The Management Team and appropriate Committees are continually discussing better ways to serve our Club Members. In order for us to provide better quality programs, we need your help in abiding by the registration guidelines for Clubhouse, Recreation and Special Events. The registration list determines the amount of staff, supplies and time that are needed to conduct a program. A deadline date is established to determine whether it is still feasible to hold the event and/or allow staff enough time to make any necessary changes. The majority of people sign up for events just before the deadline. This often causes last minute revamping of programs to accommodate those attending and in some cases events have been canceled due to insufficient registration numbers. Help us to better serve you by signing up for events as soon as possible and noting the deadline dates. This will allow adequate time to prepare the best events possible.

Community Garden The Community Center Garden will be open this Spring as the weather permits. Returning gardeners who have signed their contract and paid the annual fee are welcome to access the patches as soon as mother-nature permits. We have used all the land permitted in the garden area and will not be adding more boxes this season. The waiting list for new gardeners is growing as fast as the weeds. Vacant spaces will be assigned as they become available beginning in April. If you are on the waiting list, you will be notified as soon as openings occur. Children’s programming will continue through the Kid’s Klub programming and educational seminars for all Members will be held weekly through the summer. Questions can be directed to Kelly Swingle, Community Center Manager at 570-646-8585.

Community Center Pool Reminders * Please shower before entering the pool especially after working out or working up a sweat from the fitness center, sauna and/or steam room. * NO ONE under age 16 may be in the hot tub area, sauna or steam room. * Please turn off the Steam room and turn down the heat for the Sauna if no one else is using them when you exit. * Please keep the pool entrance ramp clear for entrance. It is not a play area. * Children may not hang and swing from the ramp handrails. This places unnecessary stress on the rails and is a very dangerous activity for children to partake in. * Children who cannot swim must be closely supervised (in arms reach) either in the water or at the water’s edge by a responsible adult. * Flotation devices must be attached so children cannot fall out or off of them. * Food is not permitted in the pool area. Only closed lid containers may be used for water. * Lap lanes are meant for lap swimming. When there are multiple swimmers, please be willing to share lanes. Swimmers “splitting” a lane should try to swim with swimmers of a similar ability or swimming pace. When “splitting a lane” resting is OK but should not be done in the middle of a lap. Please rest on the side of the pool out of the way of other swimmers. Three or more persons in a lane can “circle swim” to accommodate multiple swimmers. Please communicate well with all the swimmers in your lane so everyone is on the same page or in this case, swimming in the same direction, at the same pace, etc.

Swim Team News As the Club is getting ready for another competitive Swim Team Season we’d like to update you on some coaching changes. Head Coach Liz Kelso has moved on to a Full Time position as a Wedding Planner at Skytop. She’s loving her new responsibilities and we are very happy for her… Congrats Liz! For those of you who do not yet know Lacey, she was recruited here by Tyler Dolph and has coached for the Club the last two seasons while attending ESU for Social Work and Sociology During her time here she has been able to coach multiple age groups utilizing her knowledge she gained as a record holding District Champion and a state qualifying swimmer. She has very much enjoyed coaching here and her efforts have been greatly appreciated by the LNC swimmers and fellow coaches. Lacey is excited to take on the Head Coach position and looks forward to helping our swimmers grow personally and as a team. The 2015 Swim Team Schedule is currently being worked on and will be posted online in its entirety beginning May 1st. Important Sailing Race Reminders

The Lake Naomi Club Sailing Association requires all sailboats participating in any of the sailing races or regattas to adhere to customary sailing practices: - Have a number posted on their sail. - Check in with the Race Committee prior to racing to register to sail. - Before the first race sail to the “Tiki” to confirm you registered by hailing your information to the Race Committee (full name and boat number). - Inform the Race Committee if you’re leaving the racing before the final finish. These practices allow Race Committee to track and properly score racers. If you do not already have your sail numbered you MUST be assigned an available number. Numbers are available for purchase in the Sailing Office if needed. While you’re there, please do not hesitate to ask the Sailing Staff for directions on how to properly affix the numbers to your sail if you do not have experience in doing so. The Sailing Office is open from 10 AM – 6 PM on weekends beginning Memorial Day Weekend and full time beginning Saturday, June 27th.

Not Ready For Prime Time (NRPT) Sailing Do you sail but don’t feel quite up to racing? NRPT is designed for less seasoned sailors who can simply tack into the wind and make their way from point A to point B. Saturday afternoons are being planned for you! Some Saturdays will be learning experience race days as the Committee Boat Crew will help you with how and when you start and directions on how to get around the course. Skippers may also be offered pointers and instructions by the Safety Boat Operators. Junior and Adult sailors will be split into two separate fleets for scoring and will have separate race starts. Other weeks will be social sailing events not revolving around racing NRPT is held on Saturdays for six weeks throughout the summer season beginning July 11th and finishing on August 15th. Meeting time is around 2:00 PM, just after the regular sailing series races finish. These meetings are also conveniently scheduled just after the Saturday Adult Weekly Sailing Lessons. Sailboats are available for use in NRPT if arranged in advance with the Sailing Office. A NRPT flyer with more information is posted on the bulletin board outside the Sailing Office on the beach level of the Lake Naomi Clubhouse. You should also be aware… the NRPT pennant flies on the flagpole on any Saturday there is a scheduled NRPT gathering. There’s sailing opportunities for sailors of all abilities on Lake Naomi, so come out to join in the fun!

Membership M embership F Fairness airness In trying to help a friend or neighbor, often Club Members do not realize how much they are actually hurting other friends and neighbors. Have you ever been asked to register a boat for a friend or neighbor who is not a Club Member or to take them as your guest to a Club facility? While on the surface it may appear that you are just helping that friend or neighbor, you are in reality hurting the Club and hurting your friends and neighbors who are Members of the Club. If you ever get such a request, please encourage the individuals to join the Club. Membership Committee Members and Club Staff Members are always available to talk with these people about the options available for Club Membership and the benefits of joining and supporting the Club. 10

2015 World Indoor Sailing Championship There were “balmy breezes” in the LSCC pool which was the host for the RC Laser Invitational World Indoor Championship races this February. Eleven sailors from as far away as Vermont and Maryland traveled to the Lake Naomi Club to participate in the twenty four race Open Regatta. Given this is a good number of boats for this size sailing area, a system was developed to rotate sailors allowing for more enjoyable smaller fleet racing. Race director Sue Neely with her team of Fran Whipple and Cindy and Mike Weiner did an excellent job of keeping the 24 races (with 2 throw outs) flowing. A special thank-you to Sue from all the competitors was expressed. The top award went to Dave Brawner, the Past AMYA President and current National Champion. It was a very close competition with only one point difference between first and second. Interestingly third and fourth place were also only separated by one point as well. First time invitees from Maryland were so impressed by our 10 commercial fan generated sailing conditions that they are now looking for a pool in their area to duplicate what we offer here. Once again LNC has become a model facility for offering fantastic recreational opportunities to its Members!

Trout Season Opening The 2015 Fishing season for trout opens Saturday, April 18th at 8:00 AM on all streams, lakes and ponds in the area. The Annual Fish Stocking Program will be conducted by Lakes Committee on Saturday, April 4th. Members of all ages can help release the rainbow and brown trout upstream and downstream of Lake Naomi. This is always a favorite family-fun event. Meet at the Administrative Office at 8:00 AM for coffee, hot chocolate and donuts. Please note that the Club’s creel limit for trout is different than the State of Pennsylvania. The creel limit for trout in Lake Naomi is four (4) and all fish must measure at least seven (7") inches. Resident licenses for ages 16 to 64 are $22.70. Non-resident licenses are $52.70. Trout permits are $9.70 additional. You qualify for a resident fishing license if you are a bona fide resident of Pennsylvania. You must show positive proof of permanent residence. There is a one day tourist pass that includes all stamps and licenses for $26.70 (not valid in April). Purchase your fishing license online at PA Fish and Boat Commission website – www. fish.state.pa.us/license.htm. It only takes a few moments to purchase your PA Fishing License and related permits (stamps). If you rent your home please share this information with your renters so they too can enjoy great fishing at LN-TT. Any questions on the locations of sport and bait shops in our area where you can obtain regulations, laws and licensing should be directed to the Administrative Office.

Stored Value Cards along with Membership ID As a convenience to Club Members and as a means of limiting the amount of cash handled at Club Facilities, the Club initiated LNC Stored Value Cards. Many Members have used the LNC Stored Value Card (SVC) and found it extremely easy to use. No more worrying about having to carry cash for pool, tennis, golf fees and the Community Center. Your Membership ID Badge also has Stored Value Card capabilities. This means you can put money on your Membership ID Badge so there is no need for a separate SVC. You can add money to your Membership ID Badge or purchase a Stored Value Card at the Administrative Office and the Community Center in any amount over $10.00. Extra dollars can be added to the SVC or Membership ID Badge throughout the season at the Administrative Office or the Community Center. These cards can then be utilized at any Club facility for payment of services and merchandise provided. They are also a great way to pay for purchases at the Cafes and Restaurant. Be sure to take full advantage of the Lake Naomi Club Stored Value Card. Please note that the Club is now issuing gold SVC cards. The green SVC cards are being phased out due to changing technology. The Timber Trails Grill will not be able to accept payment from the green SVC cards.

Facility Access for Friends and Family If you loan your home to friends or relatives, or if you have guests at your home while you are present, the following is a review of how they can access the facilities. When you have guests at your home while you are present: You have the privilege of bringing guests to any facility for which you hold Membership. Your Leisure Service Guide lists specific information on guest limits and fees for each facility. Any individual may be your guest at the Community Center (20) times a year and all other facilities up to ten (10) times during one Membership (calendar) Year except property owners in LN TT who choose not to join the Club or who choose not to join the optional facilities. Grown children and grandchildren who only visit occasionally and don't have a Special Family Membership can also participate as your guests. Members are required to accompany and introduce their guests when they are making use of the Club Facilities. Individual guest badges are paid for and issued at each facility. When someone is utilizing your home while you are not here: If someone will be utilizing your home while you are not here, the only way these house guests can utilize the facilities is by acquiring a Temporary Membership for the time they are here (unless it is a son or daughter who has their own "Special Family Membership"). The Temporary Membership will cover two adults and any unmarried children up to and including age 23 and they will be able to enjoy the same Club facilities and programs subscribed to by the Homeowner/Club Member. The Family Membership Category is required in order to sponsor Temporary Members. You will need to upgrade your Membership to this category if you plan to utilize the Temporary Membership Program. Do not hesitate to contact the Club's Membership Department for more information on sponsoring Temporary Members, guest policies or for any other reason. They very much want to assist each Club Member in obtaining the maximum benefit from Club Membership.

Vehicle Stickers Please The Lake Naomi Club is continuing its efforts to better police the lakes and ponds in the Community to ensure that access to them is limited to bona fide Club Members. You can do your part to assist our Safety and Security Department. If you own and utilize a boat trailer and park at the lake access areas, you can make the Club’s job easier by getting a FREE vehicle sticker(s) from the Administrative Office and affix it to the driver’s side front bumper of your vehicle(s). The Patrol Rangers perform daily random checks of the lake accesses and beach areas. They can easily identify your vehicle as a Member in good standing by the vehicle sticker. If vehicles with trailers do not have a current sticker, it would give them reason to be suspicious of a non-Club Member utilizing the lake. Another benefit to the vehicle sticker (which is available to any Club Member in good standing) is that it permits access to Timber Trails without having to sign in. If you plan to utilize the beach, lake, playground, ppool, tennis courts or golf course in Timber Trails, you should ask for a T vvehicle sticker(s) at the Administrattive Office, or consider the benefits oof purchasing ($10) a bar code sticker ffor access to the automatic Members’ gate in Timber Trails. Please note you will be asked for a copy of your state vehicle registration as part of the application process. Please help us to protect your investment by ensuring that access to your facilities is limited to bona fide Club Members who furnish the means to maintain their high quality.

Boat Registration Stickers Members are alerted that all watercraft registration stickers must be permanently affixed to the watercraft assigned to that registration sticker. Any temporary attachment of watercraft registration stickers is prohibited. The proper placement for stickers is the starboard (right) side of the stern (back). Please note that Paddle Boards are considered watercraft and require a registration sticker.
