The Club is moving closer to the voting stage for Phase Two of the Horizon Plan - the Community Center Expansion. The Management Team has been diligently working with the Committees and Contractors to finalize the “not to exceed” price of the proposed Community Center Expansion. Final bids from the contractors are due January 20, 2016. Once the final bids are in, the Club will select the contractor and prepare to move forward with the Membership vote. The schedule of the town hall meetings will be advertised at the beginning of February. Like Phase One we want to give every Member the opportunity to review the project in detail and ask any questions they may have. In addition, an all-inclusive Phase Two Horizon Booklet will be distributed to the Members. This booklet will follow the same format as Phase One with detailed drawings, financial updates, and timelines for the various projects. Also included in the booklet will be a section of questions and answers that the Club has received from the Members. If you have any questions prior the booklet release, please email your ques-tions to admin@lakenaomiclub.com. The Board of Trustees, Board off Governors and the Committees are very excited to move forward with h the proposed renovations of the Community Center and will continuee the process for Phase Three of Horizon Plan which includes revamping the Lake Naomi Tennis Center and enhancing the Beaches. It is important as Members of the Lake Naomi Club to do your part by attending the town hall meetings, reading all the materials, and ask any questions so that you can confidently cast your vote for Phase Two of the Horizon Plan. It is extremely important to the Club to have a strong response on moving forward.

Happy 2016 I want to take this opportunity to tell you how grateful the Club is to have you and your family as Members of the Club. My team and I continue to have the pleasure of serving 50 year Members, as well as new Members who recently joined the Club. Six new families have already joined the Lake Naomi Club for 2016 and we look forward to many more new families joining so they too can begin their treasured LNC memories. One of my favorite yearly duties is to conduct the New Member Orientations where the Management Team and myself gets an opportunity to chat one on one with the new Members telling them about our services along with answering their questions. If you have any questions or concerns about anything regarding the Club or our policies, please feel free to contact me via phone, email or stop in the office. One area I will be focusing my attention on this year is the Food and Beverage Program which includes the Lake Naomi Clubhouse, Timber Trails Clubhouse, the five cafes, Mountaintop Lodge and catering events. One thing I have learned over the years is that our Food and Beverage Department is the heart of the operations as Members enjoy socializing with friends and family over a great meal. The Club will focus on making all these amenities better than ever moving forward. I ask for your support again in communicating your expectations for the F&B Program by reaching out to the Managers or myself but more importantly to come out and support the food program so that we can continue to grow and keep it within the LNC family. I look forward to any feedback that will help the Club better all of our food outlets but more importantly, I look forward to seeing you enjoying a great meal at LNC. In closing, I would like to wish a happy and healthy 2016 to you and your family. Robert A Jones, Jr., General Manager

Not the Ghost Busters but the Rangers! Time and time again the Rangers are the last to hear about an incident that they could have been helpful with if they were notified sooner. So if you are involved in a situation or witness a situation call the Timber Trails Gatehouse at 570-646-2550 and they will notify the Ranger on duty. Posting a concern on social media, emailing, or calling the Administrative Office only slows the process. There is a Gatehouse Ranger and Patrol Ranger on duty 24 hours a day so program your phone with the Gatehouse number and call them immediately. Please remember if it is an emergency where the police or medical assistance is needed contact 911. The Gatehouse Rangers monitor the 911 system and a Ranger g will be immediately dispatched for your emergency.

Busy Year for LN-TT Rangers Under the direction of Chief Ranger John Lamberton, the Lake Naomi – Timber Trails Patrol Rangers were very busy during 2015 handling 5,000 calls and logging over 73,000 patrol miles on the Club’s four Ranger vehicles. During 2015 the Patrol Rangers also conducted 5,000 paid house checks and 2,235 random house checks. The Timber Trails Gatehouse Rangers also had a busy year logging in over 8,000 visitors and 4,600 contractors. The Patrol Rangers are also very active with the Recreation Department by having a full-time Ranger assigned to Kids Klub and night recreation at the Community Center and conducting several safety programs at Kids Klub during the summer. Congratulations to this fine group of men and women for their dedicated service to the Property Owners of Lake Naomi – Timber Trails.

New Year’s Eve Celebration Breathtaking is the only way to describe our Members’ feelings as they walked into Cruise ship. Once inside they found a dining hall turned in to a cruise that matched the "Love Boat" theme for the 2015 New Year's Eve celebration. A record crowd of over 160 Club Members rang in the New Year with a hors d'oeuvres table that featured ice sculptures filled with oysters, clams, shrimp, and crab claws surrounded by a wide variety of tasty skewed grilled fruit to assorted cheeses and caviar topped crackers. As usual Chef Paul and his staff followed these appetizers with a delicious dinner and fabulous dessert table. After dinner everyone enjoyed an evening of great music and a beautiful light show from Franke Carll Productions DJ Team “The Son”. The midnight champagne toast topped off a truly memorable evening. Once again Clubhouse Management, Chef Paul and the entire Clubhouse Staff outdid themselves in putting together this “Love Boat” fun-filled evening. A special thanks to Tony Zanin, Andy and Dee Romo and the entire Clubhouse Committee for their efforts in planning and decorating for this special sp event. Preparations are already underway for our 2016 New N Year's Eve celebration. All New Year’s event pictures and videos can be viewed at www.facebook. vi com/lakenaomiclub. co

Community Center Guests While the Club is always happy to entertain guests at Lake Naomi Timber Trails, please be mindful of the Community Center guidelines throughout the balance of this winter season, especially President’s Weekend. There is a limit of six guests per day per Family Membership on weekdays and four guests per day per Family Membership on weekends and holidays. Also please remember that in order for a guest to use the facility, the Member must be present with them. In fairness to our Members, we will not be making any exceptions to these policies during winter holiday periods.

Important Community Center Note During the Laser Invitational Regatta from 7-11AM on Sunday, February 7th, no pool use or spa use will be permitted until the event is over and the entire areas reopen at 11AM.

Bad Weather Office and Community Center Closing As most residents of Lake Naomi and Timber Trails are aware, winter weather can make driving conditions in Pocono Pines and vicinity difficult and dangerous. This factor combined with the significant distance that a number of the Club's Support Personnel travel in order to get to the Administrative Office and Community Center makes staffing these areas on some bad weather days a real challenge. You can be assured that every effort will be made to have the Administrative Office and Community Center open and staffed during all stated times of operation, regardless of weather conditions. However, the Club seeks your indulgence and understanding for those rare occasions when the Office and/or Community Center may not be able to be staffed due to extreme weather conditions. During times of bad weather, be sure to call ahead before traveling to the Administrative Office or Community Center.

The Dress Code at the Lake Naomi Clubhouse In order to maintain the quality experience that our Members expect at the Lake Naomi Clubhouse, Club Members and Guests must wear Dressy Casual appropriate attire when dining at the Lake Naomi Clubhouse. While jackets are not required, they are welcomed at all times. In the Main Dining Room and the Tall Timbers Room gentlemen and young men 10 and older must wear a collared shirt or a comparable dress shirt at all times. Beach attire, cut-offs, tank tops and hats are not permitted at any time. Except for special functions where they are appropriate (for example, member events), blue denim jeans are discouraged (however not prohibited) on Saturday nights. For Sunday Breakfast Buffets, dressy casual is recommended. Gentlemen and young men 10 and older must wear a collared shirt or a comparable dress shirt at all times. Beach attire, cut-offs, tank tops and hats are not permitted at any time. The Clubhouse Committee acknowledges that some Members strongly prefer a more casual dress code. However, we still encourage dress that would be considered business, dressy casual or resort casual, and believe diners will be most comfortable following those guidelines. The Club is entrusting our Members to use good judgment concerning what is appropriate attire when coming to the Club to dine. Under-shirts, sleeveless tee-shirts, short shorts and bare midriff tops are unacceptable. New this year, printed tee-shirts are discouraged (however not prohibited) in the grill room or on the outside deck. These tee shirts shall contain NO offensive sayings on them. Please inform your guests of this policy before they arrive at the Clubhouse. In the event of questionable attire, the decision of the Clubhouse Management will be final.

Please Soak Safely The hot tub, steam room and sauna at the Community Center are more heavily utilized in winter to relax and warm up. We ask that while you soothe your body and rejuvenate your spirits you please follow the recommended guidelines below to help you soak safely: •Consult before you soak. If you suffer from any medical conditions such as cardiovascular or respiratory disorders, diabetes, high/low blood pressure or others make sure you have your doctor’s okay before you go in the hot tub. •Observe a reasonable 10 minute total time limit when soaking in the hot tub, steam room or sauna and cool down between uses. **One should never move from the hot tub directly to the steam room or sauna or vice versa if the 10 minute time limit in the spa area has been reached. •Exit immediately and notify staff if feeling any kind of discomfort such as dizziness, nausea, lightheadedness or feeling faint. •Alcohol, drugs, medications and hot temperatures don’t mix. Spa heat accelerates the effects of alcohol and drugs and can cause unconsciousness. •Please note that pregnant women should consult their physicians before use. •No one under the age of 16 years is permitted in any Spa Facilities or areas.

Lifeguard Positions for 2016 As the Club prepares for summer we are now accepting applications for Lifeguards. Guards reapplying for returning positions must do so by February 28th to insure their positions are held. Beginning March 1st any remaining openings will begin being filled. Lifeguard Certification Course

Important Indoor Pool Etiquette For the comfort of all Members using the indoor aquatic facilities, we encourage you to rinse off before entering the indoor pool, steam room or sauna. This is especially important if you have just worked up a sweat in the fitness center or multi-purpose room. Showerheads for this purpose are located in the Men’s and Ladies’ locker rooms right before you enter the indoor pool area. Your fellow Members thank you!

Tree of Mittens – Success The Activities Committee wanted to say thank you to all who donated to the 2015 Tree of Mittens which stood 10 feet tall at the Community Center. By the end of the holiday season, our baskets were completely filled with hats, scarves and mittens which were donated to the foster children of Monroe County. A big thank you to Caroline Graham who makes sure that the donations reached their proper destination again this year. We would also like to recognize your generous donations to the Toys for Tots program. Many local children had a very blessed holiday.

Spring Doubles Tennis Tournament Year round competitive tennis players are invited to express their interest in participating in a month long Round Robin Tournament where each team will be formed via blind draw with one A and one B player. Teams will play all other teams in two sets with a 12 point tie break if needed. Because this can be quite a bit of play, teams are given a month to get in all play by setting their matches themselves in order to accommodate everyone’s busy lifestyles here in LN-TT. The most matches won when play is complete will win the Tourney. In the event of a Tie for best score (which did happen in the Fall of 2013) teams will play an additional match to break the tie and determine the Tournament winner. Anyone interested in playing the April Tournament should email their intent with their cell phone number for contact and their player ability (“A” or “B”) to msensenig@lakenaomiclub.com. Please make the contact before March 1st so a determination can be made if enough interest is made to have the Tourney. All who express interest will be contacted in early March to update the status and set teams and get the tournament started if it’s a go!

There is always enough time to recover from a disastrous beginning. 2015 started with the loss of my brother but it ended with the celebration of a granddaughter’s 5th birthday, the 33rd birthday of her mother, and the induction of my father, Dick McKee, into the South Carolina Tennis Patrons Foundation Hall of Fame. In an early December ceremony at Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms, S.C., I was allotted only fifteen minutes to talk about my Dad. I could have talked for hours. I learned about his future induction on September 21, the next day would have been his 95th birthday. To make this occasion even more special, the Isle of Palms is where our family vacationed every Easter when we were youngsters living in Greenville, S.C. If you would like to read about my dad, go to the web page of South Carolina Tennis Hall Of Fame- Belton and click on portraits of inductees. From there, go to the year 2015 and click again on his name, Dick McKee. You should see his portrait and description of his tennis life. One of the qualities my father tried to instill in his children and to all his students was to never give up. If you persevere long enough, you can conquer any adversity. Success is just around the corner. How fortunate our young people are at Lake Naomi to have these wonderful lifetime sports to teach them how to handle defeat but also victory. Winter is Platform Tennis Season

Holiday Gala

Now that winter is here we’re seeing more use of the Platform Tennis Courts which makes sence as the sport was invented to accommodate tennis players not able to get on the courts once colder weather hits. Here is some pertinent information to help you best utilize this fast moving game which is a great way to warm up outdoors while enjoying the fresh air often missed in winter. •The Platform Tennis court has a heating feature and IS ONLY used to melt away ice PRIOR to your play. It cannot be used during play to warm the court area. •PLEASE call the Community Center in advance so we can make sure the deck is clear of snow and ice for you. •Courts are available seven days a week anytime the LSCC is open but to reiterate, aadditional snow and ice removal time may be needed after inclement weather. •Racquets and balls are available for check out at the reception desk. Eye protection is hhighly recommended and athletic shoes are required. •All Members are permitted to play with no court fees. •Courts are first come, first to play, but if you have a group wishing to play at a particuular time, please call to reserve the courts with the receptionist. •The reception desk keeps platform tennis highlights sheets as well as the official rules ffor the Members to use. Additional information can also be found on the APTA website aat www.platformtennis.org. Many Members are now organizing regular games. Please contact the Community C Center at (570) 646-8585 if you are interested in getting involved.

RC Laser Winter Invitational Regatta The Radio Controlled Laser Fleet #9 will again be hosting what is known as “The World Indoor Sailing Championship” on Sunday, February 7th from 7-11 AM. This is a by invitation regatta because this level of competitive sailing in the indoor pool requires an expert ability for sailing in close quarters in an environment with hard edges. For the same reason the number of boats starting a race must be limited to 8 at a time. The same format experimented with last year (which allows more than 8 registrants, but limits skippers to 8 per race through a randomization process) will continue this year. We hope to run at least twenty races in the four hour time span of the competition. These sailing races feature fast paced racing with races starting back to back to back. Each race is two and a half laps of the pool which happens quickly. Six “off lake” sailors, many of which are world class radio control sailors, will be returning for the event so come out and see the experts race with great camaraderie as well. Interested participants should contact Meredith Sensenig at msensenig@lakenaomiclub. com so we can plan accordingly. Cost for the event is $20 per skipper. Trophies will be awarded at the end of the sailing day. Space will be provided the evening before for anyone who would like to set up their boat Saturday night rather than at 7 AM on Sunday. If you’d like to try your hand at radio controlled sailing in the pool another time we have informal sailing on Sundays as follows: January 24, February 21, March 6 and March 20. Sailors are in the pool from 8-10 AM and there’s typically a boat available to try out and a fellow Member willing to provide pointers. This is a fun year round sport to try or watch anytime. Reminder, the pool area is over 80 degrees, please dress accordingly.

The accounting department needs your help! Many Members are not aware that the Lake Naomi Club, The Pocono Pines Community Association and the Timber Trails Community Association are three separate and very different organizations, each governed by different state and federal laws. Each of these organizations has its own bank accounts, its own general ledger and its own audit. The Lake Naomi Club and the two home owner associations work together whenever possible to make things easier for all of their Members as we all coexist as one large happy group. However, please remember that when paying your Lake Naomi Membership dues and when paying your PPCA or TTCA association fees, the two should not be combined on one check. A separate check to each entity is required to satisfy GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures) set forth by the Club’s and Association’s auditors. The Club and the Associations appreciate your timely payments and your assistance with keeping the books in good order.

My LNC Moment

One of the projects that the new Social Media Coordinator Mark Luethi will be taking on is developing a series of short video clips where a Member tells a simple story about the Lake Naomi Club. It could be anything from why they love LNC, to a special remembrance at an LNC event, or your favorite family tradition at LNC. Of course to make this a success we need your help. If you would like to tell your story or find out more information please contact Mark Luethi at mluethi@lakenaomiclub.com.

Vehicle Registration Form The Lake Naomi Club is continuing its Vehicle Registration Program for Lake Naomi residents during 2016. If you would like to participate in this voluntary program, please fill out the application which was just recently sent to you in a separate mailing. The vehicle stickers will be included in your 2016 membership packet which may be picked up beginning April 1st. Please note that Timber Trails residents have already received their vehicle registration form with their annual assessment billing. Residents are reminded to include the form when mailing back their assessment payment. The vehicle stickers requested on this form will be mailed back to the member.

Social Media Coordinator

The Club is happy to announce that Mark Luethi has been named the Club’s Social Media Coordinator. Mark has been working for the Club since 2011 where he started out working in the Clubhouse as a food runner. Clubhouse Manager Peter Koryttko discovered Mark’s photography talents and the Club soon made him the official LNC photographer. The last three summers Mark has been the Club’s photographer and has showcased his skill with image enhancements and video creations. Any Member who is a Facebook.com/LakeNaomiClub fan has seen and “liked” the work that Mark has already done. Mark noted that his favorite events to shoot are the Junior Sailing Regatta, Family Adventure Race and Frank Dekmar’s horseraces at the pool! Mark is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree as a Film Major in 2001. He began his career in Los Angeles working on documentaries for filmmaker Mark Wexler. During this time he was the associate producer of the critically-acclaimed feature documentary film, Tell Them Who You Are (voted one of the Top 10 films of 2005 by the Associated Press), and the co-producer of How To Live Forever. The Club is extremely lucky that Mark chose to move back east and become a part of the LNC Team. One of the areas that have been identified in a recent Brand Study for the Club is the importance of social media. “In today’s world, the question is no longer why a brand should be using social media, it is why aren’t you using social media.” So as we continue to look for means to market the Club we understand one of the best ways is to have a strong and engaged social media presence. So Mark Luethi will be joining forces with Communications Manager Laura Altemose and Hospitality Manager Carolyn Keiper in promoting the Club and the Mountaintop Lodge across the Social Media Platforms. Community Center Multipurpose Room Etiquette While Members are utilizing the Community Center’s Multipurpose Room for indoor tennis play, they sometimes find it challenging to share the space with the recreation participants on the other side of the curtain. Because the LSCC is a multiuse facility, all Members are asked to be familiar with and practice the Multipurpose Room guidelines which follow and are outlined in the Leisure Service Guide. It is suggested that Members call ahead when planning on using the MPR as programming may be scheduled which could limit access for general use. Multipurpose Room Guidelines: Please only wear shoes with non-marking soles. Athletic shirts and shorts are required, cut-offs are not permitted. Roughhousing and horseplay is considered unsafe and not permitted at any time. Please do not hang on the basketball rims or lean on the tennis nets. Food and eating are not permitted in the multi-purpose room. Drinks are only permitted in reusable plastic containers with lids (i.e. sports bottles.) Please limit curtain movement between courts. Multipurpose Room while set for Indoor Tennis- Additional Guidelines: Athletic attire and shoes are required to play indoor tennis. Only persons engaged in play may be on the court. Each court may have a maximum of four players and three regulation size tennis balls unless otherwise approved by Management. P Please keep the courts free of litter, especially empty ball cans and ball ccan metal caps which can damage the floor. P Players are expected to practice court etiquette at all Lake Naomi Club Tennis facilities: B respectful to the adjacent court at all times, especially when walking in and out and when Be retrieving balls. Should the need to interrupt arise, please wait until after the point in play. C Courteous and sportsmanlike conduct is always expected. L Limit disruptive conversation and behavior. Profane language is never acceptable. Throwing racquets will not be tolerated and unnecessary screaming is discouraged. A Although cell phones are permitted in the Community Center, lowering ringer volume and taking calls to another area are courteous practices always appreciated by others. W We hope these basic reminders will help all Members find their time at the Community Center m more enjoyable as many users share common space. We thank you for your cooperation.

Septic System Maintenance Seminar

The Environmental Stewardship Committee will be providing the residents of Lake Naomi and Timber Trails with educational information on important topics pertaining to the management and conservation of our natural resources. Perhaps at your primary residence, or where you lived in the past your house was connected to a central sewer system and you didn’t have to worry where the water went after you flushed your toilet. However, in Lake Naomi-Timber Trails you rely on an on-lot septic system to treat and dispose of your wastewater. Are you properly managing your system? Do you know how to maintain your septic system and how to identify problems with your septic system? Penn State Extension will discuss septic system inspection and maintenance. Learn how to protect your health, your property and our shared groundwater and surface water resources. Economic & Community Development Extension Educator, Peter Wulfhorst will be giving a talk on Septic Systems at the Community Center on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Be sure to put this date on your calendar.

Sponsor a Friend

Have you ever considered what a great gift it would be to sponsor a friend, family member or neighbor so they can have their wedding reception or other special event at the Lake Naomi Clubhouse? The Club is a very special place for a wedding reception or other special event for a number of reasons. First, not just anyone can have their event at the Lake Naomi Clubhouse. Only Memberr Events and Member Sponsored Events are permitted at the Lake Naomi Clubhouse. Second, there isn’t a more beautiful spot in the Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania for a wedding reception or other special event. Third, the very professional Clubhouse Staff will do an outstanding job on the presentation of the event and catering to all of your needs as well as the needs of your guests. The Clubhouse is available for wedding receptions, cocktail parties, luncheons, anniversaries, brunches or any kind of special event you might imagine from 40 to 200 people. The Tall Timbers Dining Room is available for groups up to 60 people. The Mountaintop Lodge is also available for weddings and special events. Parties from 20-50 people can be served in the main great room. Parties using the outside back courtyard and deck can accommodate 65 to125 people. Using the entire lodge parties of 60-160 can be served. Contact the Club’s Event Coordinator Liz Foder at efoder@lakenaomiclub.com to book your wedding reception or special event or to sponsor a friend, family member or neighbor in booking their wedding reception or special event.

Boat and Canoe Racks Remember, boat and canoe rack assignments are made based on the location of the member’s home as well as when their dues payment is received. The earlier you pay your 2016 membership dues, the better your chances are of being assigned racks in your preferred area. Refer to your invoice mailing for more detailed information on the rack assignment process.

From the ARC

Spring will be here before you know it and when it arrives, everyone will want to enjoy the fresh air and work outside. If you are planning to build a new house, undertake any major landscaping project or make any type of structural changes to your property, it is important that you abide by the Deed Restrictions as well as the “Architectural Standards and Requirements” for the Lake Naomi – Timber Trails Community. These standards are intended to promote harmonious design, the protection of the environment and collective interests of owners of property in the Community. Included in the S&R’s is a requirement that all propane tanks be screened from sight by using either privacy lattice or landscaping that provides sufficient screening or both for maximum buffering. With the addition of the Code of Conduct to assist in preservation of our beautiful Community, leaving your tanks un-buffered is also a v violation of the Code and can be subje to a fine. While fining is the last ject th thing anyone wants to do, propane ta tanks detract from the beauty of your hhome and the Community. If you hhaven’t already done so, please be a ggood neighbor and screen your tank. Even less aesthetically pleasing is a bright blue tarp! Blue tarps are also nnot permitted in Lake Naomi – Timber Trails. Dark green and brown tarps blend so much better with our natural environment! Cramers Home Center, a short drive east on 940, usually has these in stock, along with both Lowe’s and Home Depot. Another item that has caused concern with the neighbors is spotlights. When installing them, remember to point them down. Most people are not fond of spot lights shining in their windows! Please put them on a motion sensor and turn them off when you are not here or won’t need them. 11

The Club has established a four year retake schedule to assure that the Membership ID cards remain current. Believe it or not we are on the second round of the four year schedule. Please remember that it is important to make sure that your ID card actually looks like you and if you would like to update your picture before the four year cycle please stop in the Administrative Office at your convenience. Members who are behind in getting their pictures updated could experience inconvenience at a LNC amenity. The LNC Staff Members have been instructed to look closely at the Membership Cards to guarantee each and every Member has their own ID card. The Club encourages the young Members to have their picture taken more often as their appearance can change considerably in just a single year. So to avoid confusion and to avoid delays be sure to stop in the Administrative Office to update your Membership ID picture. 12

Lake Naomi Club Q & A What is the date for the Independence Day Picnic in 2016? The 2016 Independence Day Picnic will be held on Monday, July 4th. Why does the Clubhouse request reservations for dinner in the main dining room? The popular misconception of why the Clubhouse asks for reservations is so staff can be scheduled accordingly. While this is partially true, the primary reason for reservations is to control the flow of the dining room business to guarantee that the service staff and kitchen staff run efficiently. The most popular eating time is between 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM and if every Member arrives during this time period the operations of the Clubhouse become back logged which results in delayed service to the Membership. The goal is to provide consistent platinum service to the Members and reservation helps the staff accomplish this. Walk-ins will always be welcomed but please try to make a reservation to ensure that you receive the Platinum Club Service that you deserve.
