POLICE SEIZURE FUNDS BUDGET This Police Seizure Fund is used to account for federal and state seized funds. These funds are to be used for law enforcement purposes. In lieu of the disposition of forfeited property, Section 59.06 of the Code of Criminal Procedure grants spending authority to the Police Department. The Police Department is required to keep the governing body informed of aggregate expenditures of forfeiture funds by category. This entails submitting a budget for these funds that only lists and defines the categories that the forfeiture funds will be spent on.
