Lacrosse Canada’s inaugural Development Team
Tryouts in December were a resounding success, bringing together 605 athletes across the country. Held at the Whitby Dome in Ontario and the Langley Events Centre in British Columbia, the tryouts featured U15, U17, and U19 players both men and women from the east and west.
The talent on display was outstanding, with athletes showcasing their skills in rigorous drills, assessments, and scrimmages. This national event highlighted the growing interest in lacrosse and set the foundation for future Canadian teams. With a total of 12 teams selected, the future of lacrosse in Canada is brighter than ever.
“We are incredibly proud of the participation and skill displayed across both locations,” said Executive Director Terry Rayner. “This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see how these athletes develop and represent Canada moving forward.”
A heartfelt thank you to all the athletes, coaches, and volunteers who made this event possible. Lacrosse Canada looks forward to expanding the program and continuing to nurture the next generation of lacrosse stars!

2024 marked an incredibly important year in Lacrosse Canada’s history, making it the year that the first women ’ s box tryouts took place, beginning an incredible journey towards a very important milestone: the creation of the very first Women’s Box National Team
Molly McIntyre inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame
Molly McIntyre, who was and still is an inspiration to officials across the country, was inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame Molly was an incredible mentor and has helped grow the game through her participation in many national and international events throughout the years
The Women’s U20 National Team heads to Tokyo! These championships were full of camaraderie, action, and unforgettable experiences for our U20 girls, and we could not be any more proud of their achievements and the silver medal they brought home as a result of their efforts!
The 2024 lacrosse season was filled with exciting moments! The Coquitlam Jr Adanacs won the Minto Cup, while the Victoria Shamrocks and Six Nations Chiefs battled in the Mann Cup. The Elora Mohawks dominated in the Founders Cup, and Team BC captured both the Jenny Kyle Cup and the U19 First Nations Cup. Team Ontario claimed the E.G. Dopp Trophy, and Team BC continued their success with victories in U13 Female, U15, and U17 Nationals. We look forward to another great year of nationals this year!
The 2024 Mann Cup was a truly unforgettable event, full of intense action and unforgettable moments The Six Nations Chiefs faced off against the Victoria Shamrocks in a thrilling bestof-seven series After a hard-fought battle, the Chiefs emerged victorious, claiming their eighth Mann Cup title and second consecutive championship Looking back, it was a remarkable tournament that captured the heart of lacrosse fans across the nation. Congratulations once again to the Six Nations Chiefs!
In 2024, Team Canada once again proved their dominance in Men’s Box Lacrosse, remaining undefeated throughout the tournament In a thrilling gold medal match against the USA, Canada triumphed 13-7 to secure their sixth World Championship title. This victory exemplifies the resilience and determination of our athletes, and we are incredibly proud of the Men’s National Box Lacrosse Team for representing Canada with excellence on the global stage
In 2024, Team Canada continued to make history as part of the first-ever Women’s Box Lacrosse Championship. The team showcased incredible determination throughout the tournament, ultimately securing a silver medal after a close final against the USA. Their inspiring performance has paved the way for future generations of female lacrosse players Congratulations to Team Canada for their trailblazing achievement!
In 2024, OUA and CUFLA lacrosse brought us an unforgettable season! The Western Mustangs claimed their second consecutive Baggataway Cup, defeating the Queen's Gaels in the finals. And, on the women ’ s side, the Queen’s Gaels capped off an undefeated season by winning their fifth OUA Women’s Lacrosse Championship with a dominant victory over Ontario Tech

The 2024-2025 National Lacrosse League (NLL) season is in full swing, and Canadian players are once again making their mark. From jaw-dropping goals to great performances, it’s been an exciting start to the season. Here’s a quick rundown of the action so far.
At the top, the Buffalo Bandits (4-0) are looking strong, with Josh Byrne and Dhane Smith lighting it up But keep an eye out for the Saskatchewan Rush (4-1), who are right behind them, thanks to stellar performances by Zach Manns and a defense powered by Ryan Barnable, who is currently ranked 1st in the league! The Vancouver Warriors (3-1) and Ottawa Black Bears (3-2) are also looking good, making for a very exciting season so far.
