This 8-pafe catalog documents the 2019 Exhibit at La Casita Cultural Center in Syracuse, NY. The Project titled "Pa' la calle/To the Streets" is inspired by urban culture, life in the barrios, street art, graffiti, and artistic expressions through music genres that spring from hip-hop culture, including the global phenomenon reggaetón. The central theme of this exhibition program will be the focus of a 10-month interdisciplinary research project that includes an art exhibit, panel discussions, workshops, music & dance performances, and special activities in La Casita's after school youth programs. The exhibition presents the work of Syracuse-based, up-and-coming artist Bennie Guzman. La Casita Cultural Center is a program of the College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University.
