We have scientifically demonstrated the safety of our Suncare products on marine life with the help of ecotoxicity testing undertaken by a specialized and independent laboratory. These trials used extreme conditions , in order to create higher ecotoxicity risk than found in real-life ocean conditions. They were carried out on a selection of marine organisms to have a broad outlook of toxicity risks in marine fauna

Testing On Marine Organisms

Tests were carried out on the Suncare product with the highest concentration of mineral screens, titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Testing was performed on the algae Phaedactylum tricornutum and the crustacean Artemia salina. Tests demonstrated that the Suncare products are non-toxic for both of the organisms studied: no effect was shown on their growth.

Testing On Corals

Tests performed with Suncare product with the highest concentration of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. To assess toxicity for corals, polyp retraction and bleaching of coral nubs. Study performed on coral ( Seriatopora hystrix ) nubs.

The testing concluded on an absence of danger for the parameters studied: bleaching and polyp retraction.

Our Suncare products are CORAL SAFE.

These studies provide proof of the lack of ecotoxicity of mineral screens but also of the formula as a whole because a Suncare product is not just made up of filters. Every ingredient was rigorously chosen according to its environmental impact.
