The EverSafe global business was founded in 2006 by Ewout Evers. Core business started with assisting and supporting all customers by the smooth integration of sustainability, health, safety and quality on all levels. Ewout Evers qualified himself by believing in only the best quality in work and think with sustainability. This resulted in a no cure-no pay strategy for all customers. Since the beginning EverSafe is still the only business of his kind that offers this high-level assist and support. A result of this professional quality was the answer to a worldwide question for companies. What do we have to do to make sustainability, health, safety and quality visible for other parties? Ewout Evers answered this

question by introducing a company owned management system with interactive communication with all the stakeholders of customers. Hamwells Who are the founders and what is their background? CEO Rob Chömpff Rob was head of marketing at VNU Exhibitions in the Netherlands before consulting major blue chip companies like IBM, Siemens, ABB, and Philips. He won an international award predicting customer behavior. He served on the board of the Dutch Industrial Suppliers for over a decade. Rob is responsible for strategy and partnerships. CTO Eric van Duin Eric was trained in engineering at Delft University before starting an engineering firm with a mix of mechatronic, electronic and software specialists. They designed

and brought to production a range of highly complex specialty equipment for pharmaceuticals, petro firms and the retail industry. This engineering firm became Hamwells. Eric is responsible for product development, sourcing and operations. CMO Wouter Chömpff Wouter has degrees in Economics and Law and was a marketing teacher at Erasmus University before starting his own studio making websites, mobile applications and 3D animations for brands like Rexel, PW, Hagemeyer and Hannover Messe. Wouter is responsible for marketing, legal and finance. By 2050 we’ll live on a planet with 11 billion people. That’s the same planet that is currently coping with water & energy shortages, and will undergo severe climate change in the next decades. With the Hamwells e-Shower, you contribute to a better environment for everyone by reducing your water & energy usage as well as your carbon footprint. Together, we are challenged to come up with practical ways to make our lives sustainable. The Hamwells e-Shower is a great first step because it cuts your household’s energy and water usage with 30%. You feed microbes in the rumen from the cow

Director Symen Jellema’s one of the entrepreneurs who are committed to renewable energy and then focus on sun energy. With Solar Port in Dokkum, Symen Jellema is one of the leaders in supplying solar panels, partly thanks to a visionary thinking and a keen entrepreneurial spirit. “And we’re not done yet, there still needs to be done a lot in the coming years” The breakthrough came thanks to a call from the Netherlands Antilles. The question came from Aruba, which would be the first

country in the world completely green and if we could do something for them. In that period on Aruba we were called by the municipality of Leek (the Netherlands), whether we could set up a solar power plant. That resulted in a solar park of 60,000 panels and gave a lot of media attention. We were then approached weekly by other municipalities who wanted also such solar park.

The challenge is that we are no longer dependent on a number of years of fossil fuels. With the combination of wind, solar, biomass and all renewable energy together, that should be possible 24/7 Solar Power Off Grid System. For many people living in remote areas, connecting to the mains grid is not an option. Therefore, they must produce their own power. In the past, many have resorted to petrol or diesel generators, but these are both noisy, maintenance intensive, and environ-

mentally damaging. In more recent years, other cleaner forms of power generation have become available. Arguably the most well-known is solar power, though other forms, such as wind and water power, are also becoming more common. Unlike fossil fuel powered petrol or diesel generators, these forms of energy production are known as renewable energy, because they will continue to be available as long as the Sun and Earth still exist.

Because of the cost of buying extra solar panels, wind turbines or a larger Inver-ter, using power-hungry appliances like electric frypans, hairdryers and fan heaters is best avoided or minimized. Themes such as transport / storage, craftsmanship, bottom-up, efficient and sustainable use of materials (Cradle 2 Cradle, Biobased & Circular Economy), decentralized solutions and personification play an important role. Symbioshape, in collaboration with The Water for Everyone Foundation and University of Benin, is working on the development of a 3D printed ceramic water filter, aimed for rural area’s in BoP (Bottom of Pyramid) Countries worldwide.

In another project, Symbioshape is partnering with two universities and another company, to develop new biobased 3D printing materials, derived from organic waste streams. We develop high value digital fabrication materials, from low value organic waste streams. We are also specialists in setting up digital fabrication hubs/labs, were new technologies such as 3D printers, laser cutters and micro-computers are being used by makers, students, educators, technologists and researchers. These labs are technical prototyping platforms for innovation and invention, providing stimulus for local entrepreneurship.
