PROGRAM WORKSHOP, ART, ACTIONS, PARADES, PERFORMANCES (free entrance)
7 - 9 September 2020, Nykøbing Mors, in collaboration with Kulturmødet Mors
Meanwhile getting deep into to the new project on Environment and Sustainability, the Art Party will once again fill the fantasies of the youth generation with politics, just like as it happened before, in the first edition of the School of Beauty in 2017 (by InvitationLab: a collaboration of Swinging Europe / Herning Library / Team Teatret / Kunstpartiet).
The team behind is composed by artists Giuseppe L. Bonifati (I) and Linda Sugataghy (HU), together with musician Claudio Passilongo (I), Brian Bruhn and Cüneyt Pala (DK) as hosts, and with special guests Christian Gade Bjerrum and Seffe Squillaci, in the roles of Don Chri-Hot and Sancho Panza. They animate together the audience and invite them to create different parties, using the leitmotif leading the last four years of the community project Art Party: “Striving for beauty above all”
In the “School of Beauty”, we want to give, both to young and to older generations, an inspiration for: how to madly follow your ideals without smearing your make-up. In this edition, we will show concrete examples and give suggestions about making our daily lives more sustainable. We will focus also on important issues in the democratic process. What is political work? How to form a party? How to get votes? How much politics and commitments are you able to make in 2 hours, and how can you do it on an entertaining way?
The Art Party invites you to a day full of art, theatre, involvement, workshops and surprises. Come and experience two artistically inspiring days, in the spirit of democracy, when anything can happen, and when you will see a very special version of Danish politics. When you too can have a word.
1. Ciao ciao bambini - a sustainable concert-show in Højskolen Mors with Giuseppe / alias Jeppe, Christian / Don Chri-HOT, Claudio, Linda, Brian, Cüneyt and with the participation of local citizen Seffe.
A show conference about Environment and Sustainable Topics involving local students and politicians
2. Don Chri-HOT - street-action, in the walking streets and squares of Nykøbing Mors.
Don Chri-HOT and Seffe fight against plastic windmills, going around with Rosinante, the electric donkey
3. The art Reactor - parade and installation ceremony, with Dueholm Skolen, Museum Mors and Morsø Kunstforening
Art and activism with involving local young people and citizens
THE TOTEM
The project's totem is created by Kunstskolen Emilia, and we will take it to the parades, on our journey from island to island in Denmark. We will fill it with the non-recyclable material collected during our residency and we will turn it into a plastic windmill; it should stand as a visual symbol of the ecological cause that we, modern Don Quixotes and Sancho Panzas, must fight against, for our future.

Art Party’s ecological tomato seeds, election-event, Rosinante the electric donkey
Christian Gade Bjerrum is an actor, climate activist and founder of the organisation Bæredygtig Scenekunst NU (Sustainable Performing Arts NOW).
He will be the ambassador of the Art Reactor project and the public face of Art Party between August and September 2020. He will lead the parade in Holstebro, participate in a discussion panel about Environment and Sustainability at Mors University College, together with Brian Bruhn and politicians, organised in collaboration with the national cultural festival Kulturmødet Mors. He will give a live stream performance talk addressed to the nation on Bornholm, during Bornholm's Culture Week, another national event in Denmark; he will also make actions at City Halls of the communities involved in the project and in the Danish Parlament, where the Art Party will pop up, and goes from office to office, to realise a significant action, by collecting non-recyclable materials from the various offices and grabbing focus on on sustainability. Christian, in his alter ego as DON CHRI-HOT, will show to people that it there is a reason to go crazy in fighting against the giants, if it is for a good cause and in the interest of a greener and more sustainable world.
NEW PROJECT AMBASSADOR
“A new spirit hovers over Jutland: the spirit of the art party! We believe in this simple truth: Striving for beauty through art.”
From January 2016, the citizens of municipalities in the Danish Jutland region have been able to experience a special “Party”, founded by the Italian performer Giuseppe L. Bonifati, alias “Jeppe”, and his Hungarian “First Lady”, Linda Sugataghy, from the International DOO performing arts group. The aim of Kunstpartiet is to reach a dialogue and exchange with all layers of the society through Art. The Art Party realised interactive performance events in the region, in collaboration with Holstebro Municipality and other municipalities in Jutland, the Danish National Arts Foundation, Aarhus 2017 European Capital of Culture and the Nordic Theatre Laboratory.
AIMS
a) to use ART as a social catalyser for all citizens and to trigger a process of empathy and reciprocity;
b) to appreciate variety and diversity;
c) to generate cooperation between citizens, associations and institutions through artistic performances;
d) to approach "the unexpected”
MAYOR IN RESIDENCE (January 1, 2016 - June 18, 2017) was the longest performance project and "election campaign" ever made by a couple of artists. Giuseppe L. Bonifati (IT) and Linda Sugataghy (HU) played the role of Jeppe and Linda (Candidate and First Lady) in Holstebro for 18 months. They have been in contact with thousands of citizens In the Jutland region as well as cooperating with several cultural and artistic institutions, to realise their monthly programs of performances, actions, performances and events.
KUNST SOM FORSVAR (2018). In its second interdisciplinary project, along with several national and international artists, KUNSTPARTIET / ART PARTY acted regionally as well locally and transformed its headquarter, BomhusetMuseum for Miniature Arts, into a dreamlike video installation running 24/7. The group traveled from Hirtshals to Aabenraa, from Odder to Esbjerg and Odense, from the Art Museums to Cold War bunkers and from theatre scenes to the of asylum centers, all for the aim to spread the Arts Party’s messages to adults and youth: from kindergarten children to high school students and to politicians.
KUNSTPARTIET
ART ON CALL (2019). The Art Party's experimental project in 2019 aimed to reach a larger part of society and also to RECONSIDER the potential influence that art may have on health. We researched this topic through artistic residencies in 7 cities of Central and Western Jutland. During this time, we drove a special ambulance and intimate performances took place inside the vehicle. We also delivered different activities, actions, performances and workshops, for prevention and revitalisation, in the homes of citizens, on the streets, in schools, offices, theatres, museums, etc.
Thanks to the Municipality of Holstebro (branch Arts and Culture), the Art Party has had its office and headquarter in Bomhuset - Museum for Miniature art between 2016 and 2019. The 32 m2 former toll house is the oldest house and smallest museum in Holstebro. The building is now closed from public, undergoing a renovation during 2019-2020.
