What a busy term to the end we have had here at RVHS! I have been very much enjoying seeing all of the wonderful photographs of the enrichment and festive experiences that have been organised for our students. From festive cake decorations, pantomimes to the Winter concert; it’s all been very exciting at school. On that note, I would like to say a special thank you to members of the school community that have given up their time to support such events and for parents/carers for encouraging their children to get involved. As our community knows, we did have a difficult start to the term. The RAAC crisis saw us lose 18 classrooms, a canteen, independent study area, toilets and staff workspaces. Ensuring that all students were back on site and learning was the key priority; which we successfully managed to achieve by the end of the half term. I wanted to give you an update on the status of our building work, as I know that many parents and carers are understandably keen to have some more information. We are currently awaiting an update from the Department for Education regarding planned next steps for our affected building and have recently been advised that schools will receive notification of this once a decision for every school known to be affected by RAAC has been made. Alongside this, we continue to prioritise plans to construct a temporary kitchen and canteen facility on our school site, so that we can increase our catering provision; something that we know is really important to our community. Looking to the new year, I wanted to remind parents/carers of a few really important items to ensure that we have a smooth and successful start to 2024:
